This is a must try when in the area! When we first walked in, we were kindly greeted by the staff and had no problem getting a table without a reservation. They quickly cleaned a table and sat us down. The menu is a bit extensive but our favorites were the pad sieyu, papaya salad, and duck kee mao. It had a perfectly balanced flavor of salty, sweet, and spicy. Would highly recommend these dishes. The moo ping was a little bland and the sticky rice was too sticky for our liking. We discovered this Thai place 20 minutes walk from our hotel when we visited London. My kids love Thai food and they loved it so much that we came to this place twice in a day. The food was good authentic Thai food. The place could get so crowded and noisy. The night we were there, it was too crowded that the guest from the table behind me kept resting her arm on my chair. We had dinner at this restaurant, which is conveniently located in Covent Gardens, near Trafalgar Square. The service was decent, but the food was just okay. The best part of the meal were certainly the Satay (chicken and beef). Otherwise, the Chicken Gang Pa was not nearly as spicy as I expected, and had a bit of a soapy taste to me. The rest of the table's food was good, but not outstanding. Service was decent, but not outstanding, and it took a while to get the bill. Great Thai food in a very intimate restaurant. There are only a dozen tables and when it gets busy, the conversation level can be a bit much. If you pay attention, you'll see there's a dumbwaiter behind the bar, bringing up the food from the kitchen and taking down the dirty plates. The food deserves no criticism. Excellent levels of spice, flavor and texture so that nothing is overwhelmed. We shared a plate of the Tod Mun Koaw Pod (which I know only because I've gone back to the Thai menus on line) corn cakes were indescribably yummy. The Golden Triangles ("Hey, I can order something in English!") were perfectly toasted and dipped nicely into the sweet and sour sauce. Each bite was an explosion of tasty deliciousness. For the mains, lots of curries around. Beef and Chicken of course. My green chilli curry had lots of crispy vegetables and bits of chicken. It started off a little on the hot side but after a few bites, either my taste buds got used to it or they simply gave up reporting the heat. My table mate said the Pad Thai was good but not the best he's ever had. Service was excellent and attentive. The very nice lady who must be an owner was serving the drinks. Singha beer has a dry taste and goes well with spicy Thai food. Surprisingly, I didn't end up wearing any of the meal. Bonus! read more

I'm a little worried about posting this review as I love this little restaurant and want it to be my little secret of amazing food. It's tucked away from the hustle and bustle of Covent Garden. Yes, there are about a dozen staff all ushering you around, taking orders, placing food and then ushering you out when you have finished, however they are never intrusive, or rude. You need to go there early before 7pm and you should be able to get a table. The food comes quickly. The food is amazing. Very traditional. I've never had something I didn't like. read more

Hmm, it must come with the meal. 1:15pm: Oh boy, oh boy, my food is coming! He's just about to set it down, oh ... um, where's the rest of it? Wait, this is clearly only £4 worth of my £8 Gai Ta Kai ... maybe I ordered the 1/2 order lunch special? 1:20pm: Nom, nom, nom, mmmmthisisreallyyummmm...nom nom. 1:20:45: Aaaaand I'm done. Unless I eat some of the Thai chili, wait? No Thai chili? 1:25pm: Yep, just the bill thanks. And the second half of my meal ... 1:30pm £24? Twenty-four WHAT?? I mean, really? 1:34pm: Yum -- Mints! This Thai restaurant was an unexpected surprise as it was a last minute mid-week late evening idea while walking through Covent Garden. The lights were quite dim but the atmosphere was nice and was a lot busier than I anticipated. The servers were in traditional attire and were very attentive, promptly giving us our drinks. The menu has everything expected on a Thai menu but nothing that personalises the restaurant from others in the area. Having said that, I didn't help myself by ordering the chicken Pad Thai. If I wanted something more adventurous, I could have. I think a Pad Thai is a solid simple dish so can show a reflection on the quality of the restaurant. My friend ordered the green curry, and on reflection I made the wrong choice. There was nothing wrong with my Pad Thai (there was nothing left at the end), but the curry was a much more exciting choice! The flavours came through strong but not overpowering, and created a well-balanced dish. We didn't stay for dessert but we did stay late enjoying the Laos beer. We didn't feel pressured to leave and we really appreciated that. All things considered, this is a solid restaurant experience. Prior to flying to London, I was not that crazy for Thai food. But one accidental stop at this resto, after a client visit, changed all that. After finishing our meeting, we were driving back to proceed to another dinner and drinks meeting, but realized that we were starving already. Earl's court would be a decent 20-25 mins drive away given the traffic madness that night. Very close to the Charing Cross station, we parked the car and looked around and saw this moderately-sized resto which seemed packed. Curious by the way it looked from the outside, plus all the displayed Trip Advisor ratings through the sticker from the entrance door, we went in without any set expectations. What greeted us right away was this amazingly wonderful aroma of food, I could almost smell the authenticity of all the spices in those food! Everyone seemed to be loving their dinner and off we drilled down to the what's not and what's hot in their menu. Pretty thrilled to find out that everything seemed to be hot and yes I mean that literally, we ordered for an appetizer first while trying to decide which one to order. I eyed their spicy prawn cracker and I am not exaggerating when I say that it is by far, the BEST prawn cracker ever in the world! It is too good that whenever I go back, I always make sure that apart from the appetizer, I order this for take away. When craving strikes or something calls for drinks, this is the perfect appetizer, together with their spicy sweet chili dip. That was the best way to start the meal. I decided that their Tom Yum soup would be the best choice, together with their Thai Prawn red curry. Having such tolerance for hot and spicy food ever since, I specifically requested for it to make it spicier. Yes, I did that, without even trying it yet. Imagine my surprise when I finally got to taste their Tom Yum and Prawn Red curry. It was TOO spicy but absolutely, absolutely DIVINE. It perfectly complements their thai jasmine rice. I'd have to say that what completely won me over was the Tom Yum soup. That was the end-all and be-all of why I was converted to Thai Food. And I've never looked back since. I've only been here for 2 months now and I've gone to this resto for around 6-7 times now. Some of those times I brought along my friends and some were for business. The owner even recognizes me now and makes sure I get more than enough sweet chili dip and is gracious enough to approach me and my company from time to time to ask how's everything. I find it funny and ironic that I'd find the best Thai food in London but I guess sometimes, life truly does surprise you. Now go and drop by to try their stuff. I chose them as my first review because hands down, for the location, the quality of food and the service, they're a winner. As for the price, I'd like to believe that it is worth what you pay for. I was really in the mood for thai food so we walked down streets and magically found thai pot. and we walked towards it like a hungry moth to a thai flame. once we got in we thought we our prayers had been answered. the service was great, but the food was subpar. I had thai mussaman, and my friend got a dish with duck in it, but he said it was a lil gamey. It was the average price you would expect to pay for a place in covent garden, but I would suggest going there again. This place is nicely tucked away in Covent Garden and a really good place to grab a quick lunch. Their service is quick and efficient that'll get you in and out in less than an hour. I was here in March 2016 and had an average experience. The staff was attentive and helpful but the food that arrived could have been better. My lamb wasn't cooked well and the prawn my mother had been cooked too well. The rice bowls were so small, we barely got full from the whole meal. We did enjoy the fried prawn starters, though and the drinks. In our opinion it was too pricey for the main meals. There are better places for Thai food in Soho. The restaurant is about 3min from Charing Cross Station on the Northern and Bakerloo Line and 5min from Leicester Square Station on the Piccadilly and Northern Line. read more

Visiting the area to see a play and looking around for a quick dinner before the show I found Thai Pot. I got a glass of house red wine (Shiraz) which was pretty smooth compared to house wines at some places. I ordered the green curry with brown rice. I like it spicy. It could have been a little more fire for me but I was very happy with the flavor of my dish. Service was excellent. I did not order bottled water but while I was away from the table they thoughtfully placed a glass of tap water for me to drink. I arrived a 6 pm and it was very quiet. Food was good. Not the greatest but for the price point I consider it to be good. What I can complain about is that as soon as we were done a hurricane of staff were ushering my wife and I to pay and kick us out the door. This in comparison to the fact we hadn't seen the staff once since ordering; 4 showed up within 5 minutes. We were putting our coats on at the table and the staff were spraying the table down and catching us in the mist. I wouldn't come in when it might be busy. Conversely now that I think about it if you came in during a rush it's good to know they'll kick out their customers as fast as possible to seat you. Maybe I should give them 4 stars? read more

First time to this authentic gem of a Thai restaurant. So impressed! We have been to many Thai restaurants in London and are frequent visitors to Thailand and this is the real deal- totally authentic food, great ambience and really good value for about as central zone 1 as you can get. Run by all Thai staff and for sure authentic Thai chefs. We had the Yum Woonsen, Pad Kee Mau(drunken noodles) and Pad Thai- as authentic as we've had in Bangkok and just as spicy. Pad Kee Mau in London is usually packed with soy sauce but here its authentic! Highly recommend to anyone who lives in zone 1/2 to venture to. We will be back for sure. What a great find! read more

This was a TERRIBLE dining experience! DO NOT go to this restaurant!! I went here last night before a show I was to attend at 7:30. When I arrived the restaurant was essentially empty. They stuck me and my date in the worst 2 person table in the restaurant. When we asked to move to one of the other open tables, they (very rudely!!) told us they were all reserved for parties of 4-6. As couples arrived. They began to separate the tables that were supposedly "reserved" for larger parties. When we left, the restaurant was still half empty. In addition, I ordered a jasmine tea at the end of the meal. It arrived in a pot with one cup. When I asked for another cup, they said they would have to charge me for another tea. Overall, the service was abysmal and the staff incredibly rude. Please skip this restaurant if you want to have and enjoyable evening!! read more

Stopped by here for a spot of impromptu dinner. Didn't have to queue which is something of a luxury in Central London on a Friday evening. The food was so good, mouthwatering, aromatic, rich and so so tasty. I felt like the portions were just right for me, I'm not a massive eater - appetite of a snail you see. There was such a huge menu with plenty to choose from, loads of veggie options as well. We spent about £15 a head which included drinks and a starter of erm... prawn crackers? Staff were efficient without being pushy/trying to push you out of the door and the food was just delicious! Easily some of the best Thai food I've had in London. My wife and I ate here a few weeks ago while in town visiting. My food (panang curry), was excellent. Very spicy and with a rich creamy flavor. My only complaint is that for the price the portions were quite small. My wife's meal however wasn't nearly as good. She ordered the Pad See Ew, and it was disappointing. The flavor fell flat, and again the portion was surprising small given the price. So the service and ambience are great, as is the location. Great Thai in the cool Covent Garden area of London. But beware--they briefly close between 3pm and 5pm for an afternoon break! The interior is very chic and modern--little white votive candles on each table, dimly lit, and probably one of the coolest, authentic menus I've seen in a long time. Service is very good. I had the Pad Kee Mao and Mom had the Pad Se Ew. Both were very good. I think this place is fantastic and would absolutely go back. I am really surprised by some of the more negative/luke-warm reviews. My boyfriend love Thai food, but have surprisingly struggled to find good quality, flavorful and authentic dishes in this city. This is the second Thai restaurant we've found here that I would give four stars. It's really great. We had reservations for 7:30 on a Saturday, although they weren't necessary. Most tables were full, but it's quite spacious (divided into two kind of separate rooms) and a few tables were still available. The server who ended up helping us was so nice and patient. He make sure we got exactly what we ordered, despite a few customizations, and made himself available as needed. Gai Ta Kai - never had this dish before (which is rare given how often I eat Thai food) and it was honestly one of the most flavorful dishes I've had in Thai cuisine. Lemon grass, ginger, garlic, fish sauce topped with lemon juice. Tons of garlic flavor coming through as well. It was our server who recommend this dish as one of his favorites. Has a bit of sauce, but not too oily at all, which is fantastic. Sometimes these stir-fry dishes are over sweetened and over oiled, but not this one. We requested all veggies, no tofu, no mushrooms. This is not a vegetarian dish (and we aren't vegetarians), but we wanted only veggies and asked for a variety with no mushrooms and no tofu. We got a very nice medley or baby corn, peppers, onions, carrots, long beans, and broccoli. Requested that this be made extra spicy (the dish is naturally a zero spice level dish and we requested the highest level of spice) and it was definitely spicy, but could've been even spicier. I would highly recommend this dish and feel free to adjust the spice level to your liking. It is super flavorful and I would get it again. Massaman Curry - this dish can be a hit or miss, but here it was a hit. We asked for all veggies, no tofu, no mushrooms again and there were potatoes, peanuts, carrots, broccoli, onion, baby corn, peppers, and long beans. It was the right level of sweetness, tasted fresh, and was delicious. Thai iced tea was good. Spacious dining area, friendly servers, calm place. Was a little worried when I walked in at lunch time on a weekday and saw the restaurant empty, but turns out I was just early and it soon filled up. Had the Dim Sum and Pad Kee Mao. Dim Sum was my favorite. The noodles had a lot of flavor and were very good and spicy, how I like it. read more

Good Thai restaurant tucked away in one of the back streets of Covent Garden (very close to Charing Cross Police Station). Refurbed a few years ago the restaurant is open and light and a combination of traditional and contemporary. When busy the restaurant can get quite loud with people talking and having fun. Menu is quite extensive and a good range to suit all flavours. The Jungle Curry is a good choice and they can warm it up if you require it. Service is fast and efficient, not always supportive of a relaxed quiet meal so beware. If you walk in off the street then you may have a short wait. If the wait will be longer leave your name and pop to the pub a couple of doors down. Certainly worth a visit for you to make up your own mind read more

I was planning to go to Wahaca but there was a 45 min wait (on a Tuesday night!!) so we opted for the Thai Pot instead. We were given a table straight away and the service throughout was very quick. The menu had a wide variety of dishes and we had ordered four dishes to share between the three of us, all of which were delicious. It wasn't very expensive either so I would very much recommend the Thai Pot for a quick bite to eat in Covent Garden. read more
