Yum! Enough said... In all seriousness, this place was amazing. Very welcoming and friendly staff, the restaurant was clean, and the views, right on the bay, couldn't be any better. It was so night to sit by the window watching the birds, the boats and the sea lions all enjoying the bay. Now let's talk about the food! We started our meal with their combo plate, a very nice mix of appetizers that they offer. Husband's favor was the potstickers, and mine was the coconut shrimp. Both items we have had before but there was a special touch to these ones that made them stand out! For our main dish, I ordered the Pad See Ew (with tofu and green beans instead of broccoli), delicious and fresh. Husband order the Roasted Duck Pad Thai. He said it was delicious, he was worried about the duck, because he has heard negative things about it but he was so pleased with the flavor and the way the duck was cook. read more

I can always count on a Thai food restaurant to have vegan options when traveling! Thai Port is a charming little restaurant on the dock with beautiful bay views. You have a view just about anywhere you sit! We dined in on a Saturday evening about 6pm, a party of 4 and we were seated right away. It's quiet and peaceful with lovely staff who constantly checked in to fill up waters and remove empty dishes. We started with a fresh tofu roll appetizer to share - absolutely delicious with the peanut sauce. I ordered the Pad Thai, vegan with vegetables, medium spicy. I was not disappointed! Other dishes ordered - Pad Thai, vegan with tofu, no spice - 10/10 Non vegan friends enjoyed Kao Soy - 10/10 and Salmon Curry 10/10 I highly recommend if you're a fan of Thai food and especially if you're vegan traveling with non vegan friends but want options for everyone! Wow this place was for sure the worst decision to eat at. Service was not completely bad definitely a language barrier a tad bit but hey that's alright. BUT.. the food Yuck. First got the combo appetizer plate- everything seemed like it was frozen in a store bought pack and then literally deep fried again thus making sooo hard and just uneditable. The crab wontons were an absolute joke they were the size of my pinky - we actually tested it out and it was which mean no filling and basically a cracker The main course my wife got something with shrimp and she maybe as two and then got sick feeling because of the texture of the shrimp - mine was a curry beef noodle which man Thai food and their broth dishes should are amazing with the flavors they can infuse- but this dish of if I cooked it I wouldn't admit it was mine. My wife and I love Thai food and this definitely was enough to make us take a break from eating Thai food for a bit. Definitely don't recommend. And bring tumbs because you'll need them right after, literally. read more

The rainy weather had us craving a delicious Thai curry at the Oregon coast! Thai port did just that. Their sweet little restaurant is located on the main doc area near Ripleys believe it or not museum. We had the egg rolls, yellow curry and pad ke mow. Everything was delicious and fresh! I wanted to dine here specifically for the Crab Fried Rice I saw in the Yelp review & it was delicious. Fair amount of crab, scrambled eggs, yellow & green onion, tomatos ,delicious.. Also had the the Green Curry, bamboo, eggplant, Bell pepper, coconut milk,basil. It was tasty not overly spicy (as we ordered mild & they brought an assortment of hot sauce & spices) Pad thai with tofu was pretty standard, but the noodles were good. Our go-to Newport dining spot for an easy lunch or dinner. Perfect option if you get tired eating fried seafood or American diner food. We got the two crab specials this time and both were so good. The pad kee mao was flavorful although a tad salty. Not pictured, but we did get the mango sticky rice and it was sooooo yummy. A must when the mangoes are in season. The service is always super sweet and friendly! The space is bright, well decorated, with a full wrap-around window that allows incredible views of the bay to enjoy. read more

This place had it all. So yummy. And the views were unbeatable. The service was amazing. Our server was awesome about discussing food allergies with confidence. And she was working hard the whole time- everything came out fast and correct. The only thing I'd note is when we drove by we thought it was closed at first because the gallery in front was closed. Crying tiger is one of my favorite marinated dishes with sauce on the side. I have never had this dish butchered like this before. The meat was dry and chewy. We had asked for medium cooked steak but it came out well done. (Please see photos) The steak itself had zero flavor which is misleading from the menu. "Special house marinade, with spicy garlic chili sauce on the side" is a lie as the steak itself had zero flavor and was clearly not marinated. This is by far the worst food experience I have ever had. If I could give zero stars that's what I would've left. Worst part is that they charge $22 per steak--you would expect it to be amazing as other crying tigers are around $17. A whole $5 difference but it's a $22 disappointment. read more

Pretty great Thai place on the coast, the only thing is that I wish the curry was creamier and less watery, but honestly I'm a chef so my tastes are a bit in-depth. I was craving a milky thick broth for my curry and theirs is watery, I suppose it's about preferences. I don't get down to the Newport port often but when I do...Thai Port does not disappoint! I arrived before 1:30 pm on Friday before Labor Day. There was one other table occupied. I was given a menu and was given the option to sit whereever I wanted. The place is small and right on the pier. The people at the other table were talking very loud but I didnt let that distract me from enjoying the restaurant. Thai Port always plays good music. I had the Eggplants stir fry with chicken - perfectly delicious to my taste. I also had the egg rolls - yummy! In my book Thai Port is a 5 star for what they do. read more

Firstly, the views are stunning. The restaurant is small but neither too loud/lively, nor too quiet. We were greeted immediately. The service was speedy but not impersonal. We asked about vegan options and were told that anything can be made vegan except a few of the curries. The Tom Kah soup was some of the best I've ever had, and the stir fried eggplant was savory and satisfying. I strongly recommend the fried squid, they did an awesome job frying it, it was tender tasted very similar to calamari, the curry chicken Skewer was good. The wontons weren't that good, they felt little on the hard side I believe most of coastal restaurants are frying the frozen type they aren't the greatest, I also ordered the Pad Thai (shrimp) this I strongly recommend, they are generous on their portions! I wish I had taken a picture of my Pad Thai but it was righteous! I was to focus on my beautiful wifey. My wife ordered Orange chicken, with steamed white rice it was also good. I had the House Special Noodle Curry, which is a Red Curry with thin rice noodle and veggies. I selected Vegetables to top it with. I'm sad to say it just didn't suit my tastes, despite the very, very kind and helpful host/waiter/server. The Red Curry seemed a bit more watery than I like, and it felt like the veggies hadn't absorbed the curry flavor, leaving them lacking the curry flavor. Also, I felt there was a lack of veggies, considering I topped it off with veggies. My husband had the Pad Kee Mao, also topped with vegetables, which he enjoyed. It was sweeter than he expected, but still ate every drop. He also complained to me about a lack of veggies. He could see there were added veggies (the menu shows it doesn't normally come with broccoli or carrots), but wished there was a bit more. There were a lot of noodles, though, and he felt they were very well prepared (chewy, but fully cooked, and very tasty). Service was exemplary, and the view is very nice. Prices are decent, but it just missed the mark a bit for me. It's absolutely worth trying for yourself, since everyone has different tastes and expectations. read more

After eating multiple American/seafood restaurants that weekend, I was craving for some asian cuisines. There wasn't many choices to choose from in NewPort. Since this was on the top of the list on Yelp. we decided to come here. This restaurant is tucked away behind other restaurants so you really need to look for it. Once you find it, you will be as surprised as I was. The decoration is pretty and the food was absolutely amazing. On top of that, you also get an amazing view of the port while eating. Thai port is the best Thai restaurant in Lincoln county. The atmosphere is one of a kind. You have views of boats passing by and the Newport bridge. We were able to see seals popping their heads out of the water while dining. They always have a fresh flowers at the tables. The service is very fast and pleasant. The workers their are kind and courteous. We got the combination appetizer which is let's you taste a lot of different appetizers. All of the items were great. We live on the coast, and this is one of our favorite Thai restaurants. The food has been consistently excellent. I enjoy the egg rolls to start, then the basil fried rice is delicious. My wife is vegan and there are many things to choose from. (A rarity on the coast). We finish up with mango sticky rice if it's in season. Everything we've eaten here has tasted fresh and authentic. They also have interesting drinks. The location is excellent. With great views of the bay and bridge. The atmosphere is casual, but very clean and the waitress (owner?) is always very polite. It's kind of hidden, so we usually don't have to wait for a table. Overall, you can't go wrong here if you like fresh Thai food. We go here almost every time we come to town. My family and I were super hungry while we were exploring the downtown Newport area, and we ran into Thai Port! It was an absolutely beautiful location, right on the ocean with a front view of the bridge. The entire restaurant was made up of windows, and you could see boats passing by, the sunset, and any seals that swam by. The inside of the restaurant was clean, calm, and welcoming; not too many decorations where you could get over stimulated. They had a traditional Thai menu along with boba on their menu. We ordered pad thai, red curry, and yellow curry. Bowls that the dishes came out of were beautiful, and the presentation was amazing. Portions were small though, especially for the standard prices of $14. For that price, you could almost get double the amount of Thai food elsewhere. Service was amazing, the spot was beautiful, and the food was delicious. My only complaint would be the portion size! Don't come here if you are starving and are looking to get full, but come here if you want a beautiful meal in a relaxing environment. read more
