Good, but not great, Thai. Pretty good value, very good service, clean and attractive mom-n-pop atmosphere. Hot pretty much means hot, so take them seriously, but their next-to-hottest level was not quite hot enough for this likes-'em-hot guy. (Tida Thai's 8-out-of-10 is a little more than I can enjoy comfortably - my benchmark in Hampton Roads). The pumpkin soup was very good, but not the best I've had. I came in at the end of the night, right at closing, and said I preferred the fried (chewy) tofu over soft, but they would have had to hang out a little longer to make me some, so I settled for the soft. I think the fried would have been better. It's a place that locals like to go to - it's apparently nicely predictable, always good. I don't mind going here at all, especially since I usually go with friends. I like Tida Thai and Thai Erawan better, but I've had some really tremendous Thai food during my travels. Haven't found one of those tremendous places in Hampton Roads yet, is all. read more

Delicious! Came in for lunch and although the location isn't the best, the food makes up for it! Lunchtime is crowded and for good reason. Service was excellent and I was able to get in and out in under 45 minutes. I had panang curry beef and it was awesome! I'll be back soon with friends. read more

I call it Thai Thursdays! Yes, I order food from here at least once a week and I have a dedicated day for it. I recently switched it to Friday since my Thai buddy has martial arts training on Thursday nights and sometimes we over-indulge. My favorite is the medium spice Thai fried rice with chicken and extra tomatoes. I literally order this every week. I have tried other dishes but I LOVE rice and this dish is my favorite. I have also had the perfectly crispy and crunchy golden cream cheese and the awesome spring rolls. Let me not forget to mention the Thai Tea!! Been here once and that was enough. Here's why they lost stars: - Service at lunch was too slow--35 minutes from order to food. Even at lunch rush they were not at full capacity. Speed unacceptable. - Pad Thai could best be described as salty noodles. No basil. No carrots. Skimpy in bean sprouts and onions. Barely could taste the tamarind, the defining ingredient of pad Thai! - Clumsy wait staff. They just seemed uncoordinated with each other and slow to respond to our requests. Have to start saying that, even though it was a stretch to get here, this place is soooo worth the drive. We didn't go here purposely for the food as we had plans to go to Williamsburg for the day, but the detour was well thought out and a great discovery! Don't be fooled by the plaza when you first park or the outside appearance - classic tale of not judging a book by its cover. The moment we stepped in, it felt like we were in a completely different place, and were greeted with a grin. As for the food, man oh man, where to begin - we kind of went all in and ordered a bunch of different things to split. Great. Decision. For appetizers, we went with the egg rolls and the chicken and shrimp dumplings. Yummy! I'm not even a big fan of shrimp and would have eaten them all day. Not too overwhelming in taste, but could feel every ingredient in a bite. My least favorite were the entrees - but still great, don't get me wrong! - pad Thai and the eggplant and basil with chicken. When compared to all our other dishes, these were okayish, but will order something different next time. As for dessert, they saved the best for last!! Sticky rice is always a must, and they had it with mango...... Drooling worthy material just thinking back. It was hot, and cold, and warm, and fresh. Confusing, huh? So, I decided to try this place out with some friends after reading up on some YELP reviews from fellow yelpers and YOU guys are right on the spot! This place is awesome. Great staff, very accommodating, very quiet interiors, nice decor, prices were reasonable and let me tell you about their food. Food = DELICIOUS! This was my 2nd time trying out THAI food and I must say, because of this place, I am IN! This is a great place to dine. Even though it's tucked away and hidden from the main road, is it very elegant and nice. We had a fantastic time. We will be going back there again. read more

The food here was delicious and when they said something's spicy, it's spicy. That was great. I had the panang curry and my boyfriend had the pad thai. The no charge refills on the thai tea was greatly appreciated since it worked to counteract the spiciness better than water. The restaurant was clean and the wait staff was very helpful. Wow, this was an amazing find. Decided to check it out for lunch, as it's close to the office. I haven't had too many Thai experiences so I wasn't sure what to order. Settled on their lunch special of the day, which was pineapple curry with chicken. I ordered it "medium," which I thought would be pretty middle-of-the-road in terms of heat. The prices are very reasonable and the food came out so fast for our table of six, I was kind of shocked. The curry was delicious! Unbelievable flavor and perfectly cooked rice. "Medium" was actually sort of warm, so I'll probably go with "mild" next time (and I love spicy food!). I guess Thai heat is no joke. We got them extra spicy and they delivered- unlike the many Thai places in Norfolk which I find to be over priced and wimpy on the spice.. The place was clean and the waitress was super friendly. Great family-owned place! They are always busy at lunch time and the staff are good at recognizing frequent diners. They even suggested that we call ahead on our order so that we can be back to work on time. If on a time constraint, ORDER AHEAD! Well worth it! I stopped by here on the way to a meeting with a client. Was surprised to find a Thai restaurant in Hampton. I got the Pad See Yew. It was not nearly as good as my Thai places in New York City but that's to be expected. I don't know if Thai restaurants typically make their own noodles or use commercially manufactured noodles... but Pad See Yew at my favorite Thai places seem to be of non-uniform width whereas the noodles here were very uniform. The noodles just didn't have the same chewy texture as the better Thai restaurants I've been to. Prices are kinda on the high side from what I'd expect in Hampton but maybe there's a premium on ethnic food because it's relatively uncommon. Anyway, if this is your only option for Thai, it's not bad but I don't think anyone can claim it's the best Thai food ever. read more

I have definetly had better Thai food, however in THIS area I would come here. I favor fresh spring rolls with shrimp, which they DO NOT have. We walked into the restaurant and there were only a few tables open. We were able to be seated right away and placed our order. A large group then showed up and we could see that they had preordered their meals because the server started bringing out their food. We waited over a half hour before I went up to ask when our food would be coming out. Then five minutes later started to bring out our food. I ordered the Yum Beef Salad, which is usually my favorite but one look at the beef in my salad and after tasting it I could tell it was bad. The beef was gray in color. I would serve this to a three year old that liked rice. Called the restaurant and explained what had happened. They stated they would be more careful next time.
