We have seen plenty of advertisements for Thai Me Up so we finally went. After finally going, the easiest thing to say is definitely worth going and we will come back. Ok, now that is out of the way, lets get into the details. Service: We went in at about 3:00 PM so it was very empty. Service was a bit strange but we later found out was because our server was due to be off at 3:30 PM. Ok, cool. After our servers shift ended, we weren't picked up by the other one there so we sat for a bit longer than expected waiting on the check and some refills. Meh, ok. Went up to the register, paid, and went on our way. Apps: Rangoons & Calamari (don't judge, when at a new place we tend to order a couple as a preview of how the main will be). Apps, we weren't overly impressed with and likely wouldn't order again. Rangoons had a couple burst in the frier so we got empty bombs, but the couple we did get, the flavor was a bit strange. Not bad, but not amazing. Wouldn't order again. Calamari came in sticks (Kinda cool change) and were fried perfectly and tasted ok. Not overly chewy and not dried out. Might try again but probably not. Price to App ratio: not great. Main Course: Me, Drunken Noodles. Her, Tom Kah Shrimp. Kiddo, Thai Fried Rice. All of these were OUTSTANDING! Perfectly cooked, spiced, and flavored. We would definitely order all of these again without hesitation. Price to plate ratio: As expected. Since you've made it this far, I'll say it again, we will definitely eat here again. Very clean, nice staff when we spoke with them, felt safe, and a good meal. read more

A little dive off the main drag in Shalimar. Lunch specials run about $12 bucks give or take and the food is fantastic. I am no expert nor connoisseur on Thai Food but I will say I was thoroughly impressed. The atmosphere was relaxing, a cute little peaceful spot tucked away. The waitress was very friendly and the food took an adequate amount of time. Prices were fair. I ordered the Pad Thai with tofu and a salad, it was phenomenal. I have not eaten in over a day, super filling! I definitely recommend this spot for travelers or locals looking for a new hole in the wall. read more

Went in at 7:45. Hours on the door say they close at 9. Hours here say they close at 9. No other customers were there. The hostess, who was sitting down at a table doing nothing when I went in, got up and stared intently at the clock for 10 seconds. Then she looked over at an older woman to ask her if she should seat me. She should have asked me if I still wanted to be sat, because I did not. I have to assume this place is going out of business. Trying to close up 1.5 hours early and then acting bothered when an actual customer walks in is the behavior of a failing business. Had I known they had a discussion in the kitchen that they were going to go ahead and call the night a failure earlier, I wouldn't have bothered them by trying to give them money in the first place. The place isn't really the right size or location for a gas station or car wash, so I'm looking forward to what will be here in a couple months. read more

Okay food, okay serving size, but way overpriced. To top It off the restaurant charges an 18.5% forced gratuity on a party of two. My favorite Thai Restaurant was closed at Lunch, so we tried this. There are two entry ways but the right is closed, you enter through the left. Upon entering, There's a TV on with a Naked (from behind) Cardi B on the screen. They had music videos on. That was a bit of a shock. A little early to see ALL that. The decor is basic and didn't feel like a Thai restaurant but thats not extremely important. The Food is whats important. We ordered Thai Hot Basil chicken (pictured), and the House Special, Thai Hot with chicken. Two appetizers (Tea Rose & Gyoza). The Thai Hot here is bearable and you can still taste the flavor. I liked the Thai Chicken Basil dish and my friend loved her House Special! The appetizers are around $7., and tiny portions. You get 4 of each. I loved the tea rose green sauce but the Gyoza... is so-so. Therefore, a 4 is the rating. Um, I forgot, lastly the waiter came by after drinks and said "Are you guys ready to order, or what?" Also, the husband never got silverware. We grabbed it off the table beside us. Maybe he was overwhelmed. He looked busy. Food: It's pretty good. 4 star good. So yummy!! I've become sort of a Thai food snob because we had the best place in Albuquerque. I came here with high hopes that it would cure my craving and it totally did! I ordered chicken pad Thai- medium, chicken satay and a Thai tea. 1. Pad Thai- fresh, flavorful, packed full of protein. It wasn't as spicy as I like it, but I wanted to be safe so I went with medium. It's fairly mild still but that could be my personal preference. I came from the land of chiles so my heat level is up there. 2. Chicken Satay/ GOOD. But the real show stopper was the peanut sauce. Give me a straw and I'm golden. I'd put that stuff on most anything. It also came with this delightful container of cucumber salad, it was a little sweet, a bit spicy and crisp. Perfect combo 3. Thai Tea- everything I needed it to be and the cup was the size of my head. I do wish they would get any other material except styrofoam cups but I survived. Very good, will be back! read more

Outstanding Food! We had the Sweet and Sour Beef, Wonton Soup, and Thom Khu Soup. All of which were excellent. We ordered the food online and picked it up in 15 minutes. The food was hot and ready to go when we arrived. Rachel, was friendly and professional. The place looked spotless and well kept. This isn't a "hole in the wall". But a nice looking place with a clean environment. And if your concerned about such things, from what I could tell, everyone was wearing masks and conforming to current CDC guidelines. I stopped in for dinner this evening, it was too late for dinner, so I ordered take-out. That was Fresh Rolls with Warm peanut sauce and Wonton soup. You have never had wonton soup until you have had theirs. It is a meal in it's self. Snow peas, carrots, broccoli, Napa cabbage, chicken. and don't forget the wontons, a bit of cilantro and sliced green onions on top. Wow, what a meal! My wife and I chose this restaurant after seeing the now open signs posted from the road, and banner saying military discount. I wanted to find a new place to love and bring visitors. I'm very hesitant about trying new places for fear of being disappointed, and unfortunately this is exactly what happened. We decided to try a few different menu items my wife ordered the chicken lad na (which is supposed to be a noodle item). She found in her food a massive lump of burnt starch I'm assuming was what used to be rice noodles. How you could even serve this to someone is beyond me, especially after just opening. The other items were decent, nothing spectacular except for the curry. The curry was tasteful and definitely had some bold flavor. After a total of just over $50 in food my wife had asked for the military discount they had been advertising on their banner. Only to be rudely told they don't offer discounts. Confusing in itself since you either lied as a marketing tactic or discontinued your military discount within a few weeks of flying your banner advertising it. Either way your customer service is lacking and charging for items that are practically inedible is disgraceful. A very bad start to a new business with poor business ethics. read more

Thai Me Up just opened in Shalimar, and we went for lunch. We had the pad Thai and cashew chicken. We thought it needed a bit more flavor, a little bit bigger portion sizes and the option to increase the heat or spiciness. The food was good, but not the best Thai food I've had. Hopefully, it will improve with time. It's a bit more expensive than some of the other Thai places in the area for lunch. $9-12. Dinner is $10-15. I do like that it's in Shalimar. There aren't a lot of eating establishments in Shalimar, but there are some good ones. The food service was pretty quick, and the wait staff was friendly. There's plenty of parking. I was in the area for a work and was feeling like some Thai fried rice so decided to swing by here, as it was close to my hotel. The first thing I noticed was how bright it was! Doesn't detract from the food, but if you are looking for a candlelight experience you may want to look elsewhere. Regarding the food, it was fantastic! My husband and I decided to try this place for takeout because our favorite Thai place is closed on Monday's. We ordered the combination fried rice with extra combination meat (extra 4$) the combo pad Thai, and and just a side of fried rice. The combo fried rice had no extra meat. The gave me a side of white rice, to which I went back in and said I had asked for a side of fried rice. The lady was kind of rude and said I'd have to pay more, (no problem, but wasn't my mistake) I asked if she had already charged me and she said no, and then says "oh yeah, you still owe me 1.50", then said 1.60. Ordered salad for starters- one of the salads was brought out without tomato. Took a while for our mains. Wife ordered Pad See Ew and got Drunken noodles instead- had to wait for order to be corrected For another 20 min. we both agreed the Pac See Ew was too sweet And the noodles were over cooked. she ate the chicken and left the rest on the plate. I ordered the beef noodle soup and found the beef lacking in flavor and the soup was also too sweet. Server appeared like she didn't care much and didn't take the salad dishes after we were done even though she was in the vicinity. wife asked for more water and only replenished hers and not mind (1/3 glass of water in mine). so, sadly, we will not be back. We will stick to our favorites here out- Pad Thai, Pad Thai Garden and Thai Town. I don't expect this business to be open for much longer. read more
