Thai La Moon was excellent. We tried the bamboo stir fry, spring rolls, and Tom Yum noodle soup, and everything was spot on. The bamboo stir fry had a ton of flavor -- fresh vegetables, good spice, and the chicken was cooked perfectly. You could tell everything was made fresh and not sitting around. The spring rolls were great too -- really crispy without being greasy, and the filling tasted fresh. The dipping sauce was solid, not overly sweet like some places. The Tom Yum noodle soup was packed with flavor. Good heat, good sourness, and the noodles still had some bite instead of being overcooked. Service was fast, the place was clean, and the staff was friendly. Prices were fair for the quality. Definitely one of the better Thai spots in the OKC area -- we'll be back. read more

I have had some incredible Thai food in Oklahoma, unfortunately, these guys did not measure up. We ordered our standard dishes chicken with yellow curry and garlic and pepper chicken. I cannot eat spicy and ordered a level 1. Way too spicy for me. Listen, Thai food can still be flavorful and delicious without burning your mouth. But I could not eat one of the dishes. The quality of the meat and vegetables was fine, but we will not be ordering again. The service was quick, but we ordered for pick up. Can't really comment on the ambiance. read more

I'm gonna start with the positive, and then the minor negatives, and by the end it's going to be an outright tirade. So, I guess consider this your warning if you wanna skip the whole thing. [] The Good [] The Spicy La Moon Stir Fry was delicious. They were incredibly chintzy on the meat, so I was eating mostly carrots/cabbage, but those carrots and cabbage were able to really do the work of keeping me happy because of the great sauce/flavor. [] The Average [] Prices are kinda high. It's going to be a minimum of $15, but likely more once you include tip and stuff. [] The Bad [] The Pineapple Curry was nothing but "Heat" and "Sweet." I've had Pineapple Curry before where there were also savory elements. But this was just spicy (which I asked for it, so I wasn't opposed to that) on the front end, and then it was really sweet at the back end. Like a weird spicy dessert... [] The Outright Clown-Make Up Level Customer Service Fail [] My friend asked if he could get some hot water instead of ice water. They said sure. Then at the end when I paid for the meal, I noticed on the receipt that they had added $0.75 for hot water. I asked them about it because WTF to charging for hot water? The server tells me that it's because they had to use electricity to boil the water. I think I was stunned by the stupidity of the logic there. I think my face also communicated my annoyance about the whole thing. But I always struggle with walking that fine line of being like "yo, this is not okay" and not ending up being an outright Karen about it in the process. But the kicker was that after I paid, the server comes back and effectively said, "We got this restaurant from someone else, and we didn't know that they charged for hot water. But the next time you come, tell us and we won't charge for the hot water." Okay, there are so many layers of the trash-levels of service recovery to unpack here, but I'm going to do it regardless: 1. He straight told me that he was going to pass off the cost of electricity (which is absolute nonsense and nowhere near $0.75) for boiling some water on our behalf. 2. He waited to charge my card, before then blame-shifting to the previous owners on why it happened. 3. He lied about how he was unaware that their system charges for water, like I was going to forget that just 10 minutes earlier, he was really quick to come up with the nonsense about electricity costs when I asked him about getting charged for hot water 4. His attempt at service recovery was not to offer any form of corrective action. Not an offer to refund me. Not even a statement saying they will remove that egregious hot water charge from their system. The most magnanimous thing this tightwad business owner was offering to do was to comp me for hot water (IF I ASK), the next time I visit. To quote one of my favorite memes: "The Lion, the Witch, and the Audacity of this B..." The receipt they provide recommends 18%, 20% and 30% for gratuity. At some point, you're not interested in running a restaurant. You're interested in ripping people off and doing it through food (or hot water). read more

We got there at 11 when they opened and were the only ones in there for a good while.... Didn't get our food until 11:40 and we ordered quickly upon arrive. The server was very friendly but nothing fast about his service. The crab fried rice was fantastic!! The rest was gross. The shrimp spring roll(I think they called it summer roll or something like that) was bland with no flavor and the peanut sauce was so thick it was borderline inedible. The chicken pad Thai had a chemical smell to the sauce and the noodles were so tough you could hardly bite them. They taste just like they smelled too so definitely a no go. Great Thai spot! Locally owned by wonderful folks. Here's what we ordered: Kao Soi Noodle Soup w/chicken- Egg noodle with carrot, onion in yellow curry topped with crispy noodles. This is a family favorite. The soup base is made of coconut milk. It's creamy, sweet, sour and salty with a very slight kick. Got a little of everything you're craving. :) Duck Noodle Soup- Crispy duck and carrot cabbage, onion, bean sprout in a dark broth with rice noodles. This dish is a favorite of my son. It's not my favorite because this rendition is more sweeter than I'd like. You can really taste anise or something in the Chinese 5 spice mix. My son loved it! We get this at another restaurant and he actually thought this one was better. Very warm and comforting food. Duck Fried Rice (special)- Tasted very much like a basil fried rice with duck. Very good. I don't know if having duck made much of a difference. I think any protein would work. My wife thought it was perfect and I thought it was a little saltier than needed. But it was still good. Our entrees were preceded by bowls of salad. The entrees seem pricey but it's comparable to other places. BUT you'll be pleasantly surprised of the quantity. I go to Life Church and have wanted to try this place for years now! The decor is elegantly understated and gorgeous. Everything we tried was delicious. The Sweet and Sour Chicken was "soooooo good" according to the hubster. My son got the Peanut Stir Fry with Chicken and ate every last bit of it. My grandson, who is 7, and I got the Chicken Teriyaki and the teriyaki sauce is amazing! All the chicken was thinly sliced and tender. I will say that there's a lot of food for what you're paying for so I took half of mine home but everybody else ate all of theirs. The chef clearly takes pride in their presentation as well. I see the reviews on Yelp are mixed and I wanted to judge for myself. Food was delicious, portions generous, and the ordering experience through Yelp for takeout was seamless. We tried our typical favorite Thai curry, the massaman curry, level 4 spice. It was great. We also had the lava chicken based on the description, also at level 4 spice, and it did not disappoint. Will definitely return to try more dishes. LOVE this place! Great great food! Decent pricing for the amount of food you get! Portions are enough for two women to share, I think. My husband and I each get our own, typically, he always gets full but I can never finish mine. The pad thai is amazing, I always order with extra vieggies. The cashew chicken is amazing too! My husband loves Thai food so we stopped by Thai La Moon. Small restaurant, eight or nine booths and five tables in the center of the dining area. Bright, colorful and very clean, we were welcomed as soon as we stepped inside. Our server was very helpful and friendly. I think he was the only server working but he remained calm and pleasant. We had spring rolls ( Delicious!!), Curry, and Lava Chicken Stir Fry. the entrees came out very hot, well presented, and both tasted great! Our server had recommended the Asian Coffee/Hot Coffee so I tried it. It was fantastic! I may go back just for the coffee! Best Thai in OKC. It is one of our favorites. The chicken pad Thai and appetizer sampler are my go-to! Very authentic! There is enough in each entree for leftovers for a meal the next day. You do not have to go into the city for great Thai! It is great to have it here in the west side of Edmond. We usually always carry-out, but they have a beautiful dining room if you decide to dine in. My kids love the chicken nuggets served with white rice and sweet and sour sauce. They don't have a spicy scale but more of mild- medium - spicy and so on... I got the medium lunch chicken pad thai. It came out very nicely presented with an egg roll and very generous portion! I'm glad I got the medium because it definitely had a kick to it! which if you like spicy, I feel like you will like this food! I enjoyed their style of the noodles but the dish itself was sort of bland. I eat alone on Tuesdays because i'm kid free to enjoy relaxation. While the two employees working they came up and talked to me 6 times other than taking my meal. that seems a little outrageous. Let me say that I Love Thai food but this was super weak Thai. Flavorless, the beef salad was soggy, lettuce should be crispy but it was almost like a stew and the beef was so bland (ordered level 3 of 4 spicy) . Basil Noodle with extra chicken and veggies (because I saw people complain about them skimping on meat) still didn't have much other than some spaghetti noodles and canned veggies. Love this place!!!!! I particularly love and crave their red curry with chicken. It always arrives at my table steaming hot and delicious. My husband always get the vegetable fried rice with chicken with level 2 or 3 heat (spice). He usually has some left to bring home. Many times I bring home left overs too. The lunch portions are large and delicious. Quick and attentive service always. So clean. You're always greeted with a hello or welcome when you walk in the door. Tried this place out since my boyfriend and I was craving Thai food. The place was small and clean with cute paintings on the wall. Our server was nice and attentive. We came for a late lunch around 2 on Sunday and it wasn't busy. I ordered basil noodle with beef. It comes in three spice levels which is medium, hot, or Thai hot. I got medium spice level. It was a pretty good portion when it came out. Usually I can eat spicy but not too spicy, but their medium was like hot too me where tears were coming out of my eyes and nose was runny. It was so good where I still kept on eating it and sipping water with every bite. My boyfriend ordered tom yum chicken and thai fried rice spice level hot. Tony yum was pretty good. A little salty from the fish sauce and probably needed more lime juice but still good. His Thai fried rice was also yummy but he said it was pretty spicy and he can eat spicy too. I ate a quarter of my portion and he ate half and took the rest Togo. Next time I'll probably try to see if I can get no spice. read more

I was excited when I noticed a new Thai place in town. We stopped in on a Saturday around 5pm with 2 adults and 2 children. The entryway is a bit awkward. There is a wall and we hear from behind it "how many?" I feel as though a greeting before asking "how many" would make this awkward experience better. We ordered several dishes. We started with two orders of spring rolls. They were good and fresh. As we were eating them, my son pointed out a display on our table that said free spring roll order with a Yelp 4 star or more review. I thought that was quite tacky and I'm still turned off by the thought of it, realizing people will give good reviews just so that they can have free food. I had the stir fry and liked the basil flavor and all the fresh vegetables. I tried the beef pad Thai and it was okay, mostly noodles and too sweet for my liking, but perfect for an 8 year old. My 12 year old had the green curry and is now a fan. I tried a pad basil noodle- ordered hot- and it was HOT! I may return if in the area and in need of a quick meal. read more

Best Thai food in Edmond--hands down. We went on a Saturday, right after they opened for dinner. We had Shayla as our server. She is the most amazing server ever. When I questioned whether something had fish sauce in it (which I don't like), she made sure to check about all animal-based ingredients with me before placing my order. She was so helpful, without being intrusive or over-the-top. We had deep fried tofu with chili sauce, basil stir fry, and peanut vegetable stir fry with tofu. We also had a Thai Iced Tea which was very good. The food was AMAZING. From the appetizer to the main dishes to the Thai Iced Tea ice cream dessert--everything was DELICIOUS. There are plenty of vegetarian options, and several gluten-free ones as well. The portions are HUGE! We recently moved here from a predominantly Asian area in California and we know delicious Thai food when we encounter it--and this was so good! Shayla even called Chef Bea out so we could talk to her. All in all, it was a wonderful evening with fabulous service and delicious food.
