Ambiance: It is quiet and nicely decorated. There is TV playing in the background as well as music. Food: The Beef Pad Thai (1/5 spice) had extremely good flavor and a heaping portion. The peanut sauce was smooth and not overly sweet. The Chicken Tom Yum (4/5 spice) was served in a family style dish. The flavor was incredible and addictive. Mushrooms are not a preferred vegetable, but the broth flavor overtook the mushrooms. Wonderful sour flavor, but the spice level was no joke. We decided to order takeout because the restaurant was very warm inside, but don't let that discourage you from giving it a try. The food was absolutely delicious and tasted incredibly fresh. We ordered the Beef Pad Pak and the Beef Pad Thai, and both dishes were excellent. They offer a spice level from 1-5, so it's easy to customize the heat to your preference. We appreciated having that option, whether you prefer something mild or enjoy a bit more kick. The service while ordering was friendly and efficient, and the interior has a nice atmosphere. Im picky about my Thai food and love this place. It is about $20 per person, but everything is made to order and their food tastes like it. There are differences between Thai restaurants depending on where in Thailand they are from but essentially the same. One example is Larb which is like their version of tacos using butter lettuce for the wrap and you put the meat filling in it with sauce and eat more like a dolma now that I think about it. The meats are chopped and some subtle differences but always with mint. Today, I had the Panang (Red) curry with Chicken. It was superb with the coconut sweetness and spicy curry, I had them go level 4/5 on spice and it was on point. Nose running with a nice sting on my lips that lasted a good hour. If you love spice, thats a good thing. If not, I feel for you. Having lunch with Mom she wanted the Pad Thai with chicken which is huge, not lacking on thay umami pam sugary sweetness that it coats the rice noodles in. read more

A friend told me the Thai food here was on point. He was not wrong. I've had a lot of Thai food in my life, especially having lived in Thailand for four months. This Thai food is some of the best I've ever had. I got the fried rice, and my husband got the pad Thai. They were both outstanding. We can't wait to come back and try more things on the menu, but what we had tonight was so good. It'll be hard to want to choose something else. Out of town and hungry for Thai, to yelp I go. The reviews for Thai Orchid looked pretty impressive overall. I decided to order via the website for delivery. We ordered: *2 combo Pad Thai's (no egg) *Spring Rolls *Mango & sticky rice The food arrived hot and enormous in size. This serving of Pad Thai is approximately 3+ meals for myself. But sadly, one and done. Coming from a city with a large Thai community I was very unimpressed by this meal. This was the FIRST time I've ordered Pad Thai without an option for a spice level (heat). The region (North, NE, South, Central) has never mattered. This left me to assume my spice would arrive on the side with my order. Sadly, zero spice arrived. The Pad Thai at Thai Orchid lacks traditional flavor, bean sprouts and crushed peanuts. Although, whole peanuts were incorporated throughout. Another disappointment when the spring rolls arrived fried... A frequent order of mine, a spring roll is typically fresh - rolled in rice paper with fresh veggies, rice noodles and a protein. I can't eat a "fried" roll so this was a complete waste of money for me. Overall, I'm assuming local patrons love the portion sizes that Thai Orchid offers. I love Thai food and have tried quite a few places in the Oklahoma City area and every time I feel like I have my favorite one, I find another one. Thai Orchid is now on the top of my list. Not only do they have a lot of great options on the menu, but their portions are also pretty large, reasonably priced, and so so flavorful! We don't normally go this big, but we ended up ordering an appetizer, entrée for each of us, and a dessert. My entrée ended up being three meals! Nothing we had was less than amazing. Love the panang curry. I rarely get food out anymore as everything is so pricey. I get the panang curry and easily get 2 meals out of it. I have tried replicating it but it was nowhere near as good. The spring rolls are also phenomenal. It's a family owned and operated restaurant. It had a weird smell, like bug spray that we noticed as soon as we opened the first door. The pineapple rice dish I ordered had gummy rice, It was huge but too gross for me to eat. I picked out all the pineapple and ate that. We met my husband's boss there. He literally eats Thai food everyday! No he is not Thai, he just loves it. However, even he didn't like his food. The waitresses were working VERY hard. Very attentive. But wasn't impressed by the men just standing around watching people, like he was the Mafia. Reminded me of Little Italy in NYC :-) The other guy was sitting at what looked like the bar eating peanuts or something. Neither men were doing anything. Odd that he was sitting at a bar but they do not serve wine or cocktails. We left there and went straight to Interurban and got appetizers and desserts because we were all still hungry. First time eating here but will definitely be the last. Only thing they got correct was deep frying crab Rangoon and spring rolls. The summer roll is supposed to have bean sprouts, lettuce,carrot and shrimp with sesame seeds on the out side. I received lettuce with a few carrots and 1 piece of shrimp in each roll with ZERO bean sprouts or sesame seeds on outside. Had to pay extra for the shrimp as well. Look like the kid running around the restaurant tonight rolled the thing. The curry was not thick at all, more like water. We ordered Thai basil fried rice and crab Rangoon's and Thai basil chicken as an entree all at a level 2 . Portions HUGE flavor right on the money reminds me of a mom and pop place I found in Vegas . Quality of meat was perfect price was on the cheap side as well . Service was good and the staff had a bunch of recommendations making it really easy to choose what we wanted as well . When we first moved to Oklahoma in 2022, this was the first restaurant we tried. We were so pleased with it and it quickly became our weekly dinner spot for our family. Also, they support the military and offered a discount. The waitress knew what we ordered each time and it was so great! Then at some point that waitress was no longer there. She was a shorter woman and I thought she was the wife of the owner. Anyway, I felt like once she left, the quality of the food and the good service started going downhill. The tall waitress just looked so tired all the time. People talk about the kids in the restaurant. We've never had a bad experience with them but they are always there. I know it's difficult to run a business and also have your kids. We continued to eat here until about 6 months ago or so because there were so many flies in the restaurant it became disruptive of having a peaceful meal. We tried to ignore it but it became such a huge problem. We would have to cover our food with our napkins and swat them away. They would land on us, the food, drinks, etc. I started questioning whether the kitchen was clean or not. We decided to order take out but they were so inconsistent and there was always something wrong with our food. At first we made excuses because we enjoyed their food for the first year but we finally decided that we would no longer support the business. We were in town and craving Thai. We decided to try this place. They gave you a good amount of food for the money. The sausages were unique and tasty. The presentation of the Royal Pad Thai made us both chuckle because neither of us expected a whole steak to be just sitting on top of our noodles. It tasted good though. I would order it again but ask them to just cut up the steak because sawing at it with the tiny knives they had at the table was annoying. I've sat on posting this review for awhile, months and months. The more times I've considered to order again, has been deterred time after time because of my last experience there. The food is GREAT, honestly some of the best Thai food I've had in Oklahoma. However, I placed an order and it wasn't ready just yet. So I sat inside and waited on an ottoman, and saw a little boy running in and out of the kitchen and had a concerned look on his face that I had sat on the ottoman. Shortly after sitting there I realized it was kind of wet so I moved. After getting back home I noticed a rancid smell. I took off my pants and smelled where I had sat on the ottoman.... It was the smell of Vomit. Undoubtedly. I called the restaurant to let the owner know. He said thanks for letting him know. He ended up calling me back about 15 mins later to say the waitress knew and had cleaned it up a bit-- clearly not well enough that someone else's kids vomit was on my clothes. My biggest concern is that this little kid was running in and out the back in the kitchen (Noting there were two little kids there that day). And if they knew he was sick throwing up, why was he still there?That's was a big red flag for me and unfortunately we will never return because of this incident. I'm all for supporting a small business that has kids running around, but when they are sick you compromise the well-being of everyone else. read more

The service here is good the food was okay. It was a bit sweet and I had level 3 spice but it wasn't spicy. I could had gone up to a level 4 and I think it would be still okay. My husband enjoyed it a lot and liked their spicy fish dish. Their Tom kha was very different than any I've ever had. It had cabbage and small corn in it.
