There's something wonderful about this nondescript little Thai delight.
The Logan Road strip, is arguably Brisbane's not so impressive response to London's Brick Lane. There is an absolute smorgasbord on Logan Road, and if you're prepared to drive up and down and back again, you can have your pick of pan-global delights. Granted, you'll probably be involved in at least one road rage incident along the way; but life is all about adventure.
You'll find Thai Flavour roughly between the Holland Park Magistrate's and a cosy little bike store. One can but imagine that you're average blue collar worker 'gets done' for aforementioned road rage incident, picks up some Thai, purchases a bike and goes less than merrily on his way.
The food, and that's possibly a restaurants raison d'etre, is delicious. I have never had a sub-par meal at Thai Flavour.
However, the food isn't the reason I keep coming back. My close personal friends used to be extreme locals in the Holland Park area. The owner knows them by name. He asks my best friend if everything is alright, if she comes in without her lovely boyfriend. He knows their standard orders. In an age when customer service is oft forgotten, visiting this delightful gentleman at Thai Flavour is an absolute pleasure.
The best bit though, is that he'll make you feel like a B-grade celebrity when he comes and takes your photo. The walls are lined with pictures of past patrons and it's too much fun to vainly look for yourself in one of the hundreds of photos. They're all uploaded on Facebook too. The Thai Flavour's social media presence is one of the most adorable things you'll ever see.
