I had dinner at this place tonight. It's just downstairs from Chili Club, the other Thai restaurant I have eaten at soooo many times before. My friend likes Chili Club so much I hadn't thought of a change of plans. So tonight, as I was feeling lazy to cook, I looked for a take away, but my usual place was closed so I immediately thought of Thai Farmer...and gave it a go.
As it was late for dinner and the restaurant was half empty I decided to eat in. It's in the middle of the clubbing area of Lockhart Road and the noise was annoying. But still, I was too hungry to wait until I got home...I ordered a curry (green, with pork, eggplant and green beans). It came in a small bowl but possibly big enough; and it was good, nothing remarkable: the curry sauce was smooth, it was midly spicy and tasty. There wasn't too much meat though, and that let me down. The bill came as 68HKD plus service charge. Conclusion: it's okay to try if you don't know any other Thai around or you're around that place and fancy something other than fast food. It's quick, convenient and may be a good alternative to other cuisines in that street. But if I was you, I'd walk 10 minutes to Swatow Street for a better fix on Thai food.
That's what I'm doing next time. read more
