I really wanted some fried rice. So, I got sesame chicken with fried rice. They have lunch specials, that really drew me to them. I don't want to spend $20.00 for lunch. This was $10.00 GPS was trying to take me to the building in front of Public's. But it's in the same building as Public's By the UPS store and Great Clips I was greeted as soon as I came in. Service was good. They have a lot to choose from. Even on the lunch menu. I placed my order she said it would take about 10 min. Once I opened the package, the rice looked......like I've never seen fried rice this color. Ok, no worries, maybe there seasoning has a different color. The dryest red curry I've ever had. Barely any sauce. I got spicy, but can barely taste any spice, it's maybe the equivalent of a 2 or 3 out at another restaurant on a scale of 1-5. The dish also has mushrooms and cilantro which is a little weird, but I can deal with that. It's the dryness that makes this dish inedible for me. I tried and got about half way, but I seem to have eaten the tiny bit of liquid I had with my dish already and I used it sparingly with my rice as there was barely any to begin with. I'm not sure why this place has such rave reviews by people. If you like authentic Thai, this is definitely not the place to go. Sauce for the Pad Thai was very watery and wasn't very flavorful compared to other Pad Thai's I've had. The flavor for the Panang Curry was excellent. Chicken wasn't very good; pork was very tender and good. My issue with both dishes was the execution; instead of adding the cilantro leaves to the Pad Thai, they just threw the entire sprig on top. For the Panang Curry, the vegetables were gigantic chunks; would've been better if they were diced into easier bites. For that matter, I only stopped here because I'd been to a basketball game at Oakleaf High School and this was about all that was open that I knew of after that game was over. They're doing a lot of construction right now around Oakleaf and if you're not from the area it's nearly impossible to navigate at night. Hoping for decent quick Thai food when there was a business offering just that didn't seem like too tall a request to me. Alas, it was. However, one gripe is that in the past, we've waited way past time for them to deliver. Anywhere from 30 min to an hour *over* their estimated time. So we stopped ordering for awhile. Today was the first time we ordered in probably years, because it was my birthday and I had a taste for it. Everything was fresh, delicious, and it was here under an hour.
