Mango Boba, passion fruit Boba, lychee Boba, I personally liked the Mango and lychee the best. Thai ice tea was ok. Now on to entrees, all very good. Tamarind roasted duck with vegetables, 3 flavored fish, crab and shrimp thai fried rice, and chicken drunken noodles. All original to the chef's style! I love them all. Then on to dessert! Service was prompt and the food, while not the most delicious Thai food I've ever had, is authentic enough and offers some Asian food options to an area otherwise with very little. My main critique would be the Tom Yum Soup which hides behind too much salt and acid and doesn't have the delicious, complex flavors it should. The red curry was also a bit water, although it's flavor was nice. Would recommend the Pad Thai, though. Their Thai iced tea will also really hit the spot after a day of hiking! Thai 9 is a great option when you get an Asian food craving up in the mountains. Menu is super diverse with lots of Thai and Vietnamese dishes. Especially like the different curries that they have. I know this review is not going to make much difference to their business because their location is too hot and they will keep getting traffic all year round. Which is why what I experienced makes sense. Their service is horrible. We were there Sat of the indigenous peoples day long weekend and the server who looked like he was the owner was extremely rude. Did not provide water without asking. We could only place order once and that was it. You even have to order desserts upfront. Asked about wifi and he was "not today". What do these businesses think of themselves now? I enjoyed the small table by the window but overall the interior could use some cleaning and refreshing to be truly charming. The service was fabulous and the prices were reasonable. It took 5 minutes for appetizers to come out. When we finished, main courses came out about 5 minutes later. The initial reaction was to the wonderful smells wafting up from our dishes.. mouth watering! PS: Apparently "chey" means "vegetarian" or "vegan" (somewhat lost in translation) but there's a huge menu for carnivores as well. PPS: Bring your own beer / alcohol. I carried mine in a grocery bag, no problem! This is a cool idea! Spice Levels: Ask for no spice, a little, or a lot. All the curries come automatically with a low level of heat. Be aware, and look for the chili pepper icon next to the listing! These are Thai heat levels, so be careful. - Vegan Veggie Dumplings (V2): Good, but fried. It says so right on the menu but we didn't see that. Pretty good, but not $6 good. - Vegan Ginger Stir Fry with Mock Meat (VC2): Absolutely delicious! Comes with a little bowl of rice. Huge portion size (could only eat half.) Ginger is definitely the star, but it was the perfect balance and not overdone. - Vegan Pineapple Curry with Veggies (C5): Absolutely delicious! My wife and I ate here for lunch today. She had Tom Yum soup and a ginger seafood stir fry which she gave 4 stars but I had beef massaman curry that was seriously delicious and would give 5 stars. I drank every last bit of that broth and ate every bite. Added some of the hot sauce to give it more kick and wow. Should have listened to Jeff! They were yummy!! The Tom yum soup was not the best looking soup i have seen but the flavor was spot on! The drunken noodles were also good but the portion was not impressive, it was actually skimpy. There was no spice on any dish so we asked for the hot chili oil and it really kicked it up!! The food here was good, but not the best I've had. We got a few appetizers that were all really solid, including spring rolls that were really fresh and delicious. I got pineapple fried rice for my appetizer and felt that it could have used more chicken, since the ratio of rice to chicken was too large. The flavor was decent, though, and I enjoyed the meal.
