I discovered Thai 2 U when they catered at our workplace. I can say without reservations, that this was the best thai food I have ever had. My entire team was impressed with the choices, quality, and most importantly, the taste of the food. I sampled the Chicken Pad Woon Sen (glass Noodles) and Tofu Pad Thai...both were perfect. But the highlight for me was the Chicken Pineapple Fried Rice - Jasmine rice stir fried in minced garlic, eggs, pineapples, raisins, and grape tomatoes topped with cashews green onions and cilantro. I have never tasted anything like it. It was delightful. I mixed some of the beef red curry as gravy / sauce with the rice and it was oh so good! So lucky to have found this place!! Finished workout nearby (Brodie) and needed something spicy but healthy.. omg!! First of all, Ivory (owner), is such a doll! She is super friendly and helpful. Each day they have different dishes so take a look at the menu photos of the truck to see what entrees are for the day. You can choose to get the roll version (deep fried) or entree version (traditional). As I said I was craving something healthy and spicy so I opted for the Pad Woon Sen (glass noodles) with chicken. I chose to get the traditional noodle dish opposed to the roll (deep fried- sure it's delish but trying to watch carb/oil intake). I got level 3 out of 5 and it was the perfect spice level for me! - I can handle spicy (Korean background) so if you're not sure start with a 1 then I'd opt for additional spice on the side. This dish was so fresh with slices cabbage, carrots, and aromatic herbs. Chicken used is lean and tender not fatty. Ivory actually overfilled my container where it couldn't even close so I ended up eating some outside before taking home. And one container is more than enough for 2 people. Ultimately food was excellent- delicious, fresh and full of flavor! Not greasy, sticky or heavy. Aka Thai - Ful Rolls. This is a food truck but yet these amazing, adorable and ambitious women Ivory and Moon have managed to creat a relaxing, fun environment to enjoy their DELICIOUS Thai food. It's isn't often you walk up to a food truck and are greeted with this much love. They invited us to try a little bit of everything including their coffee and tea! This menu is fresh, full of flavor and they absolutely cater to every dietary restriction one might have. After introducing themselves and asking us what our names are, they immediately asked us if we have any food intolerances or allergies. I can't have soy or gluten and am often shy when it comes to asking questions about ingredients so to have someone care this much made me feel so welcomed and appreciated. There are shady picnic tables to eat under beautiful oak trees and at night they light up their little spot with fairy lights. You would be missing out to not stop by and get a bite. This is by far the best food I've had. I know the truck has moved or maybe been closed since quarantine started but I think about ordering it almost every week. Incredibly delicious, fresh Thai food made with great care. We're so lucky to have Ivory in SW Austin. Many of the fresh herbs she uses are grown in her garden. As other's have recommended, you can text her your order to shorten your wait time and while you're at it, ask her if she has any other specials that day. What a delightful surprise! It is literally in a Lowe's parking lot, so if that's what the map told you, that is correct. Look for the blue van near the lumber pick up area. Went with two friends and we were offered samples of the daily specials. Ended up selecting the pad thai fried rolls and the green curry fried rolls. Of the two, I think I prefer the pad thai, but they were both delicious. Something about the peanut flavoring really brought out the panko flavoring on the exterior, and they complemented each other really well. The Thai tea was also a hit. The owner of the van was very amicable and they have picnic tables for you to sit at while the food is prepared right then. Picked up dinner for two this evening. The lady at the truck was very friendly and chatty. She explained the menu and assured us that we could have our food made vegan, without fish paste or other animal ingredients. We ordered coconut soup with veggies and a red curry with rice. However we forgot to say we wanted the food mild, so when we reached home I expected we'd be eating a medium spicy meal. The curry turned out to be neither mild nor medium but was quite on the spicy side. We then added some coconut milk to it and brought it to a quick boil. That made the curry much more palatable. How have we lived in SW Austin for so long and finally tried Thai 2 U?! Menu changes daily but you can text their phone number to place an order. I read that it takes ~20 min for food to come out so definitely love that option. They're super fast to respond and clarify details, too. I sent my husband to pick it up on his way home from work and he could not get home fast enough. He said the food smelled so good and had no idea what I ordered. We're huge Thai food fans and haven't found a place that we consider our "go to" ... until now. We had to try a roll so we did the Green Curry and had the spice/sauce on the side because I was warned via Yelp that it could be pretty spicy. Flavor was great, PACKED into the roll and for being deep fried, it didn't make me feel gross after. *You could always ask to make the noodles as an entree instead of a roll. We also got the lemon grass noodles. I liked it. You could tell everything was fresh. I would go back to try the pad woon sen (I kept reading about it so i'll have to remember the next time it's on the daily rotation). *Also, I mixed the sauce in before putting my leftovers in the fridge and it tasted even better once all the flavors mixed together the next day! So it has been a few years since I have been to my favorite Thai food place. They moved to south Austin, and I still live in north San Antonio. I was in Austin, visiting family, and decided to stop by on my way home. So glad that I did! It's just as good as I remembered!! Yeah, I know it is called Thaiful Rolls now... but in my heart it will always be Thai 2 U. You never forget your first kiss, and I will never forget my first visit to this culinary art on wheels! I was on my way home, so I had to load up. If I came home with a story about Thai 2 U, but no food for the family... I would have been locked out! So I got Pad Woon Sen, Pad See Ew, Lemongrass Noodles, and Green Curry w/ rice. Everyone loved it, from my 2 year old to my 14 year old. For me, Pad Woon Sen is my favorite but Lemongrass Noodles were a very close 2nd place. For my wife it is all about that Green Curry, but she also enjoyed the Lemongrass Noodles. My kids devoured the Pad See Ew, and stole some of my Pad Woon Sen as well. My biggest regret is that I didn't get some of that delicious Thai Rice too. Pineapple Rice is a great treat, especially as the weather gets warmer. Basically, I have NEVER tried something on the menu and regretted it. It is just a matter of trying something new, and finding a new favorite. It truly is culinary art. My favorite thing to do is just close my eyes and inhale the aroma for a few seconds before each bite.... magic!
