Bruno and his crew painted the interior of my home - they went above and beyond to deliver a superior paint job under short time constraints and I was so impressed with their skill level, knowledge and professionalism. Bruno listened carefully to my needs and provided sound advice and guidance - it was a true consultation, which is exactly what I wanted. I was able to leave it all in Bruno's capable hands without ever having to repeat myself or oversee the project - an all-too-rare pleasure these days! I didn't move in until after the painting was complete, but I stopped by after work a couple of times mid-project and was amazed at how neat and tidy everything was left at the end of each day. I expected my place would be in order at the end of the project, but in the midst of it? A clear indication of the amount of care and consideration that goes into their work. Bruno happily satisfied a couple of my last-minute requests, and once or twice when I had only a very slight preference on how something was handled, even though I told Bruno to do whatever was easiest for them he insisted on accommodating my first choice. For example, I had neglected to tell him what color I wanted to repaint a yellow ceiling in a small bathroom. My slight preference was white, but would have been just fine with the red that was going on the walls if it was easier. His exact response was, "We will do the white if that is what you prefer. We do whatever makes you happy," and he MEANS it! Ulta Home Improvements is one of those rare gems where you get first-rate service and results at a reasonable cost. I would definitely hire them again - it was a phenomenal experience all around and I couldn't be happier in my new home!

I have a very small condo and I had no idea how they would find space to move everything around to do the job, but they did! Another challenge was that I have this awesome but very large, heavy storage bed. I had no idea how it could be moved out of the way even if it were disassembled. Tony suggested we just leave it there and refinish around it. Brilliant! I would only have put the bed back on top of it away. If I ever want to sell, I can remove the bed and do it then. So to recap, they managed to do a job I thought was basically impossible in only two days and at a reasonable price. Thanks, Tony!

Jeff, the owner, is a super cool guy. he's the kind that makes you want to shop local. he greets you with a smile, remembers your name (after one short visit too), gives you ideas and honest opinion, lets you borrow samples without anything down, even gives you a good discount if he likes you! LOL you'd think his store was small but it carries a lot of the same stuff we saw elsewhere: not having the option to 300 different kinds of subway tiles also worked to my advantage - now i could finally finalize on one. when i showed him a picture with the product code from something i saw in home depot, he offered to order in for me and matching the price (so i didn't have to go two places for everything), except there were problems for him to get the shipment somehow so we ended up going back to HD -- they had a problem with shipment too. so yeah he did give us a break on the pricing (maybe bc our order was pretty sizable?), but that's not the only reason why i gave him a 5-star rating. like said earlier, Jeff is easy to talk to and is very helpful along the process; we even started chatting about his children and stuff... the human connection that you don't get at a big box store, and he's not all about making profits. he saved my phone number in his system so even when I called weeks later, he could greet me by my name, AND he remembers what kind of products I've ordered. pricing is also very compatible to bigger establishments - another reason i used to be wary of shopping local but he's quite negotiable. he owns the business and has been there too long, so he is pretty much at a "whatever goes" stage...also why i said call before you head over if you want to take advantage of their "late closing" hours on a certain day - he may just close early to go fishing if nothing's going on by a certain time, as he revealed. maybe he took a liking on us so he was cool with us, but i would bet that if you don't show up with a stick up your arse, you would get the same treatment too. p.s. he has also hinted that he might want to retire soon (maybe in a couple years?), so get to know this guy before he closes for good!

We had red oak floors circa 1990 and wanted to make them a more modern looking gray tone, which can be challenging to do right. Geovane was very patient and explained things clearly upfront - we could sand the floors down and go gray, but there might still be some red tones from the wood that show through. He then brought out three different stains and did tests on the floor so we could pick what we liked. We ended up preferring one, but it was still not quite right. So Geovane did one more adjustment, which came out perfectly! His crew is incredibly hardworking and kind. Everyone was very careful about wearing masks. They came, brought all of the tools needed, and did a superb job. We loved their work so much that we ended up hiring them for more and more. All in all, they stained all of the existing hardwood floors for us, removed carpet from bedrooms, replaced it with new hardwood, stained the new hardwood to match, removed carpet tiles in the basement, replaced that with new vinyl flooring (which we got to choose from multiple samples), AND replaced all the balusters in our stairs. Oh, and they removed existing built-in cabinets from the walls with the utmost care and recycled them for us. Beyond that, they picked up on small details that could use a small improvement (e.g. doors that were sticking, plastic vents that could be replaced with much nicer wood vents, etc.) and did them for us. Everything was thoughtfully done with great communication and an eye for detail. Rates were highly reasonable and the work was done very efficiently (three weeks for everything!). We highly recommend Geovane and his team at GB Floors. They are fantastic!

I understand that mistakes happen, but its how you handle those that should define you as a company. We were first blamed, then lied to, then simply ignored. Not a good look in my opinion.
