An expensive eddie rockets, thats what this place is! now i like eddie rocketsbutiwouldnt want to pay much more for it. the servers in here have that annoying american waiter thing going on where the fake enthusiasm and niceness is just annoying! and whats with all the badges? does more badges mean your better or something? im starting to sound like im no fun at all here!sorry! anyway, whats good about here, well i really like their veggie burger, its the type that have lots of diffrernt types of beans in them, yum! and their chips are nice too. whats great about here and it sets it apart from eddies is the fact that you can have a drink with your burger, i mean a drink drink not just a coke! this is a massive atraction for kids so its not a great place to go on a saturday lunch time or in the early evenings, your sure to have a squealing kid beside you i also agree with kates comment below, why oh why can i not sit on any of those free tables when i walk in why must i wait? to be honest i rarely wait when i do that its so infuriating!

Food is ok... Service is usually the issue here. Full house or empty it takes ages to get served...

The place is dimly light throughout, so whether you come here daytime or night, you get the same experience... Candles make up most of the ambience in here, very inviting! Staff are always friendly, greeting you with a smile and always happy to accommodate you whether it's an intimate table for 2 or a group booking. There is often live music, whether it's a piano player or live singer/band it makes for a nice drink spot at the weekends. Also great for a pre or post dinner drinks! Place offers a full bar so you can get all the usuals you'd expect of a bar however this place is also doing some fantastic things with their cocktail menu... Some interesting and very unique drink concoctions plus let's not go with calling out their unusual presentations, I just got served a gin cocktail in a bathtub with a rubber duck... Was called Bathtub Gin Time which is a serving for 2, oh my it was yummy and refreshing plus topped with a lavender and rose foam, it literally smelled like a freshly run bath tub! I love to visit here and always recommend it to my friends, am excited to tick off another drink from their cocktail menu very soon! Build your own Mimosa sounds appealing, so that might be the next one.

We visited twice, and the first time was on a Wednesday night. They were able to accommodate us mid-week without a reservation, but Friday night we made one to come back. There were gobs of people waiting to get in so we're glad we did! The entrance is very non-descript. It's an ugly grey metal door with VCC randomly applied, so if you didn't know what was there it would look industrial. There is a door bell to the left of the door. Ring it a few times and someone will open the door and check you in. With reservations they do make you wait until exactly that time so don't be alarmed. Your table is already selected for you. The inside is loungy and very swanky. Both times we had extremely comfortable chairs. Service is immaculate. Their menu is massive, very well published and explained. Our servers were both able to explain exactly what the cocktail may taste like as some of the combos might blow your mind. I had the Dirty Wizard which sounds odd on based on ingredients but was delicious. I also had the Purple Pearl which was my perfect cocktail. My husband tried a few different whiskey concoctions and he was impressed by all of them. I highly recommend adding VCC to your Dublin itinerary!

We got our drinks without a problem, but then we watched the bartender refuse service to an older lady and her three friends -- who didn't even seem to be drinking yet -- saying the bar was closed. She politely asked for just one beer to share, even saying they'd drink it quickly, and he still refused. A few minutes later, someone else came up asking for a Jack Daniels "to drink fast," and he laughed and poured it without hesitation. Then another girl asked for two Guinness, and despite claiming the bar was closed, he said, "How can I say no to that?" and served her. Watching the older lady get singled out like that felt awful and unfair. On top of that, the bathroom was disgusting -- no toilet paper, no paper towels, and the toilet seat wouldn't stay up. Definitely not clean. We came here excited, but it wasn't worth it at all. Just a few doors down there's a fantastic place with great service that was far better than this experience. Sad one person can make her break a place.

As a result the closest and most convenient sample of civilisation was in the form of Sandyford House - but a 5 min walk from my house (and 20 min stagger home). It is big and pink and truthfully not the most inviting place from the outside. Inside it is warm, comfortable with lots of different sections and bits of wall made from bottles and concrete (for that 70s touch). The drinks are not crippling expensive and the food (they have quite a big menu) is pretty good. I have since learned how to drive and can go further afield but still pop in from time to time, not a bad wee spot at all!
