I called Altura Credit Union, made immediate payment, and they said nothing would be reported to my credit bureaus--on a recorded conversation. A month later, with my account current, they reported the aforementioned late payment to two credit bureaus. Altura CU made no effort to contact me, other than sending mail to an old address. They said the mail was all returned to sender, so they knew I wasn't contacted. A single phone call or text would have resolved this situation immediately. They made no actual effort to contact me. They knew the mail wasn't reaching me--which was an error in address forwarding when I moved. I have a 5-year perfect payment history--this missed payment was a glitch. I am buying a home in 45 days. The Altura Credit Union supervisor, by phone, today gave me bad information, saying that I had no choice but to file a disupute--and now I learned that having an active dispute will cause an automatic mortgage denial. They just made the situation 10x worse for me--because they just wanted to get me off of the phone. This is causing me massive potential financial harm. I have been provided false information over two different phone conversations.
