We said not to touch our neighbor's tree because it provided shade in our backyard. Because they rushed the job, they were careless. They cut some of the branches of my neighbor's tree making it look asymmetrical now. They are two different trees so you can't mistake one for the other. They broke a trellis, a water feature and cracked several slate slabs because they carelessly dropped chunks of the tree trunk instead of lowering them carefully. The workers were thoughtlessly stepping on plants, putting tools on top of plants. I had to mention the damage to Lauren the owner. Her business partner Wilfredo said nothing to me that damage was done as if it was acceptable to break things in the process. I was beginning to be sorry I hired them at this point because they still had to remove the stump. They were scheduled to come the next day. My wife was waiting in the 90-degree heat outside to save a parking space for their truck and equipment when they arrived. They didn't show. I received no call or text. I called and they cancelled because they were running late with another job. They came the next day to finish the stump and bring the replacement items that they damaged which was a clay pot which was part of the water feature and the slate that was damaged. I was at work and my wife in good faith paid them in full because they said they replaced the slate tiles. When I came home from work, I saw that they brought the wrong tiles and the wrong size and just took tiles from where the tree was removed and replaced the broken ones with them and still there were broken tiles. Nothing was replaced. I decided to let the trellis and water feature go because they weren't serious about fixing this and I wanted these people out of my life. I noticed a couple of days later on my neighbor's tree that there was a tree limb dangerously hanging by a thread and was about to fall. I brought it to W&L's attention being that they caused it. W&L said it was pre-existing damage which was baloney because the break in the tree limb was fresh looking. The limb fell a few days later. If you look on their website, there are two phone numbers, only one works, and it is Lauren's direct cell phone number. There is no official business number. I was going to let this whole thing go, but I don't want other people to go through this. I understand it was a very hot week, and it is very hard work, but it's the owners that are solely responsible for overseeing the work that is being done. I met with two other waterproofers who pretty much said the same and Vinny was the middle quote -yet we still chose him because he was honest and down to earth. Also I liked that his sons do the work so I trust they will take care to do it right. They scheduled us pretty quickly and got to work right away at 7 am. Three of them hand dug a 25 ft x 9 ft trench over two days (originally was supposed to be one but they needed a second because of our collapsing soil). They sealed the foundation and took care to replace my window wells, put my Sprinkler lines back, and stack the pavers they had to remove. They were respectful to me and my neighbors and didn't mind me hawking over to see them work every once and a while. We were very pleased with their work would recommend them.
