Went word by word from the ad on their website which clearly states "chimney" cleaning. The woman on the phone said she would have to speak with her manager. Felt this was deceptive & misinformatin Update: received a message & phone call from the owner right after my review, apologizing for the inconvenience. He explained the miscommunication & offered to make it right & then promptly came & had the chimney inspected & cleaned. July 2022 chimney repointing was pitiful in and of itself, looks worse than previously. workmen were unprofessional hacks, literally throwing concrete rocks down onto our property and furnishings until I made them stop. office and foreman barraged me with phone calls (started 30 mins after they left the job), texts and emails for payment, mailed that day, for the next week. knock-on effect is that I found out today they ruined our copper gutters with the concrete debris and sludge, now paying someone to fix. miserable receptionist refused to put me in touch with owner just now. One technician was in my home with a vacuum while the other was on my roof with a brush. They completed the job quickly and left no mess. You call them and it's like you're bothering them. I don't know who picks up the phone but she's miserable. Any way a year or year and a half ago, I scheduled an appointment with them to do a chimney inspection and cleaning and for a while they didn't come, kept postponing. Then finally, they decide to come and gave me a discount for all the delay; $75 for everything. Ok great, not a bad price from the original (don't remember the exact number). The day I've been waiting for has finally come and a guy walks in, gets on the floor looks inside the chimney, tells me this is how you open/close it, says you're good and walks out. Doesn't take the $75 which I thought wow that was nice of them. But something told me, do not use this chimney. Today I have a different chimney company come in and they tell me that the chimney cannot be used because there's wood and sheet rock behind the tiles. Now imagine if I used it after Allied came? My house would've burned to the ground. If I knew better I would've said to the guy "whoa, that's it?" I just bought the house and wanted to use it, but as a new homebuyer I knew no better when Allied came to ask questions and demand more. I say this to say don't write off your customers because you have other jobs to get to, every job is important! Thank GOD I never used the chimney because GOD forbid something happen, I probably couldn't even sue them because they didn't give me a receipt, there was no proof they were there. Requested a chimney relining estimate and cost was about average so I hired them. Installer seemed knowledgeable within his field, friendly and answered all my questions from beginning to end of installation. Installer promised to assist with final installation request stating he will get back to me thru his receptionist but never heard from him nor receptionist after he left. Called receptionist about the installer's comment 2 days later but receptionist was clueless on what I was referring to. Reaching installer is not possible and installer prohibited from calling customer directly due to company policy as stated by receptionist. Receptionist must connect both parties thru their system to speak yet no follow up on what was said and agreed upon between installer and customer by receptionist to schedule additional appointments. End result is customer is left to keep calling repetitively while no rescheduled appointment is ever made. Installer does no follow up with receptionist and receptionist does not follow up with neither the installer nor the customer to ensure customer satisfaction. Customer seem to be the responsible party to ensure both installer and receptionist are informed on the next steps; Horrible. Overall, its a one time job company. Once installed or job completed, they forget who you are and no follow up ever provided. Unfortunately, building customer relationship to retain customer service is none existent, leaving you to wonder if you just got ripped off. it's exactly like a car dealer....all smiles until you sign the dotted line, then Next!!! read more

Had a 9 AM appointment to take advantage of their $29.95 chimney cleaning special and instead got a no show. didn't get a call either. When I called at 11:30 I spoke with their rep Mike, who had no idea who i was (I'd spoken to him twice before). He did find my 9 AM appointment though and announced he was running late. He promised to come that afternoon at 1:30. Like a fool I waited, only to get a second no-show/call. Here it is days later and still no call to reschedule, so we have somebody else coming on Saturday to do the job. Normally a review like this would end with advice to avoid Allied like the plague, but there's no need. If my experience is anything to go by, they'll avoid you. read more

I needed an emergency installation of a flue from a new boiler. It was installed the day after I met with Joey. The job was harder than we thought but he took it in his stride. He is knowledgable, professional and polite. Upon completion the boiler was venting properly and the building was heating. The new boiler has an auto shut off if it was n't venting so my very irate tenants are much happier. Dealing with the office is also a pleasure. For all work I need done I seek out family owned businesses. They take pride in their work, as Allied did. As I mentioned before unexpected problems were jus dealt with without drama or complaint. My boiler has been tripping off all week, according to the plumbers it is inadequate draw from the chimney tripping the spill switch. They recommended that I get the chimney cleaned, so I called Allied Roofing & Chimney I made the appointment yesterday, for today between 8 and 10. Close to 10 they called to say that they were finishing up another job nearby and would be to me in a half hour. I appreciate the call. When they arrived, they checked the boiler for carbon and the flue for obstructions. Then they replaced a length of flue pipe with the correct size and length. I have been forced to write a more detailed review of my negative experience with Allied after my last review was removed because it did not give a full account of my experience and did not adhere to Yelp guidlines (aka the owner got it taken down). So here is the full account... We scheduled Mike to come and look at a chimney on a house that my husband and I were about to sign a contract on (we needed a specialists opinion & written estimate after our general home inspection). We told him we would need something in writing for our lawyers and that us moving forward with the house was dependent on the condition (and price) of the chimney repair . He did come and inspect the chimney and give us a verbal estimate, with the promise to send something in writing within an hour. For the next 3 days, myself, my husband, and my realtor, called Mike on several occasions and he kept promising that he would be sending the estimate soon. In addition, he made some really silly excuses as for why it hadn't been sent yet (he actually told us at one point that his sister is the only person that can physically send written estimates and she had gone home early that day- really??). Finally we had to give up, and we never did get the written estimate, or any follow-up from Mike at all. Because of Allied, our contract signing was delayed by a week and became much more stressful than it needed to be. So as I said in my last review, I think the way Allied conducts business is UNPROFESSIONAL and UNRELIABLE and I would NOT RECOMMEND using them. We were able to have another chimney company come in a few days later and give us a written estimate on the spot- how it should be done. read more

This guy is terrible. Similar to another review posted on here - I needed a standard chimney cleaning and was given an appointment and he never showed. When I called, he sounded confused, then he said "oh yea i'm on the way" and NEVER SHOWED or CALLED. I don't know what kind of business he runs but he's a joke. Don't waste your time. Much like David, Scott and AC,I too had an appointment scheduled for a chimney cleaning yesterday 2 pm. I LEFT work to go home for the appointment; by 3 pm no one had shown up to do the work. So I called.....and I got the run around from MIKE, the owner. Then DANA called back to apologize and guaranteed me the first appointment today at 9am. Again I took off work. At 9:50, I called and MIKE said, "We are definitely coming today...but not till 2." So I went back to work. At 1:30, I called to confirm that the tech would be there at 2...MIKE told me it would "be more like 2:30." There was no apology or explanation for the lateness. I asked to speak to DANA, and MIKE said, "What do you need to talk to her for? I told you we were coming." At 3 pm I called, and it went to voicemail. I called two minutes later on my daughter's phone and... guess what?? MIKE picked up..."What?? They aren't there yet?? Let me call the tech. Can I call you back on this number??" No surprise...he didn't call back. I then googled chimney cleaners in Staten Island. I spoke to a very nice man from All-Boro Chimney Cleaners. He came over and cleaned my chimney at 6pm tonight. If you are on Staten Island, call him! DO NOT CALL ALLIED CHIMNEY!! Not only will your work not get done, but you will get the run around and be made to feel like you are doing something wrong by asking when the tech would show up. I have never posted on Yelp...in fact I joined ten minutes ago JUST TO WRITE THIS REVIEW. Allied Chimney has the worst customer service I have ever dealt with. Please never call them. read more

At 11:30 they still were not here so I called back to only get a voicemail. At 2PM, no response so I called again only to get Voicemail. 4PM I received a call from a lovely secretary to apologize and try to reschedule. Friday 3 PM in July the gas company turned off our gas due to carbon monoxide issue (detector had gone off), deemed a hazard that had to be remedied. No hot water or cooking gas in two family home. I picked Allied off the internet at complete random. Called and explained the situation to Mike, who promised to come next day at 8:30 AM. Came promptly, explained (as others had informed me) that a chimney liner was needed. He and his crew did the job immediately for a quite fair price (much better than another quote I had gotten) and were done by 1:30. He was very professional and personable.
