Don't believe blue skies website reviews. I had the remodeling portion of Blue Sky. Clay and Lou were the main people in charge. Even though I have a year warranty, Bell plumbing, which was used as a subcontractor will not fix my sewer gas leak in my bathroom. Clay is pissed because I refuse to pay the hidden cost of products which I was told I owed no money for. Thank goodness I had evidence of not owing any money for tile and vanity. Other reviews also complain about the pushing up of cost. After I signed the contract I was told I needed to buy all my fixtures that was approximately $3000. I understood the need to buy my own fixtures because one fixture might be $2000 that somebody picks and another might be $100 so I paid that. By the end of the job they wanted $6000 more than the contracted price. I refuse to pay anything else over our contracted price. Lou Clay and John are the nightmares you hear as homeowners about remodels. Don't use them you will regret it.. read more

I was selling my house and wanted to update my ceilings, ie. remove the popcorn ceiling. The job was very pricey I but didn't question it. The workers were on time and did a nice job but when I informed the company (Sherie) of these messed-up details I received no response. I was leaving anyway so I didn't push it. read more

Wow! Texture's by Blue Sky, Inc. a.k.a. Popcorn free did a fabulous job. I was in another town when I had scheduled them to come. Via text and voice, they came on time and did exactly what they said they would, which was remove all the popcorn ceiling for my entire house in one day. They did this while sending me videos of their progress and issues they found and corrected. I would recommend this company for any popcorn removal you need. Disappointed. Two workers showed up and couldn't speak English. then a couple more workers arrived, and when the job was done i had 6 workers mulling around in my house. Why? Work was a bit sloppy, they didn't bother to cover some of the light/smoke detector fixtures, what a mess! There was residue over many walls even though they supposedly covered everything with plastic. I also observed one worker smack my crystal chandelier with a ladder, luckily I had it covered well in bubble wrap. I would be very reluctant to recommend. read more

Great job! I used this company to remove the popcorn ceilings in a condo I bought in November of 2018. They came to my condo in sun city center fl which had nothing in it as I was remodeling from floor to ceiling . I had concrete floors as I had not had the tile done yet. They did my entire house. When I got back after they done I was shocked by how clean they left my house. There was no mess on the floors or anywhere. Fast forward 10 months and a crew that was working in my attic fell thru my ceiling and broke my plumbing in several spots. My kitchen ceiling had to be redone and my master bath had a huge brown spot but the company they hired made it worse. So I told the contractor to call blue sky. They did Today blue sky came and redid my ceiling and again they left my house as clean as it was when they got here. I will tell anyone who will listen what a good company this is. We used Textures by Blue Sky for popcorn removal and to paint our ceilings following knockdown. In the days following we began to notice some white paint spots on our newly installed tile (the only place white paint used in the home was on the ceilings) and residue on our newly painted walls from where the crews taped their tarps up (the only crew to use tarps inside the home). We read their documents closely and knew that by rendering payment we had lost all ability to rectify these errors made by their crews. We hired a professional cleaning company at our own expense-- after 9 hours of scrubbing they were unable to remove the paint. The cleaning company just left and I was at a breaking point with my disappointment so I called to share my feedback with the company-- I assumed incorrectly that they would want the constructive criticism to improve the next customer's experience. I was wrong. I spoke with "an owner" who was eager for an argument the moment she jumped on the phone. She kept reminding me that we had approved the job when we paid, arguing that I should have called sooner, and stating that the residue on the walls and the paint on the floors had to be from other contractors. I guess she believes her crews are above mistakes. I very calmly shared with her that I wasn't looking to be compensated but simply wanted to share they might want to adjust their best practices. Once she knew she was off the hook she said "Ok, thanks!" and made it clear she couldn't be bothered by my disappointment. I'm not one to demean other women for being strong or direct-- but there is a way to channel those personality traits in a manner that is respectful and not full of condescension and anger. In place of customer service she was trained in passive aggression. My recommendation to future consumers: walk every inch of your property. Scan walls and floors in addition to your ceilings. Do not be dismayed by the crew staring at you impatiently and hurrying you along (with their truck running out front). We asked the crew chief to paint some of the air vents they had missed-- he made his displeasure known and told us he had some spray paint. He then spray painted them while still installed in our ceiling (yes, inside the home-- with us ((and our two children under 3)) inside). Looking back, we allowed that display of ineptitude and the tension of their impatience to cause us to overlook other things. A simple sincere apology and recommendation on what could be used to remove the residue from the tape off of the walls would have turned our negative experience into a positive one. Unfortunately, Textures by Blue Sky couldn't even offer that. read more

The work was done very professionally and they covered as much as they could in the space. The repairs and texture match on my walls are beautiful. I called Textures by Blue Sky to repair my bathroom ceiling after a plumbing repair. These guys were wonderful. They arrived promptly and I showed them what needed to be repaired. They had the job done quickly and it looks amazing. What was outstanding about these workers was they brought their covid masks, were very friendly, and they took care of my brand new hardwood floors covering them completely with plastic - without my asking and all they way out on the driveway even. Most repair guys these days leave some kind of mess behind. Textures by Blue Sky thoroughly cleaned up any mess they made, even wiping down the door handles and the floors before they left to make sure all the dust was completely off of them. The area they worked in was left immaculate i don't have to clean up or dust after them. I am very impressed with their job, it looks stunning and once it is painted you won't even be able tell a patch is in the ceiling because they matched the ceiling texture perfectly. I had them remove all the popcorn from my manufactured home - almost 1000 square feet and then apply knockdown and paint the ceiling and mouldings. What a spectacular company. Their communication from the start was excellent - and I am one of those with a bajillion questions. I went back and forth trying to decide if it was worth having them paint or if I should, perhaps, do the painting myself to save money. During this decision process, everyone I dealt with was patient and kind and supportive. In the end, I watched their video on what they do when they paint the ceilings and knew I could never duplicate their quality technique. So I had them take down popcorn, put up knockdown and finish with painting. If you watch their video it will show you what is required. I did a lot more preparation than was necessary because I was nervous about the mess I thought would be created. But I should not have been. They "bag" the entire house and in the end, vacuuming and light dusting was really all that was needed. Three days later, after the knockdown drys, they come back and paint. They re-cover everything, scrape along the edge of the walls to smooth the edges, and caulk and paint (two coats) the ceiling/wall seams for a truly remarkable finished look. The finishing of the ceiling edges left more tiny particles in corners than the entire knockdown job, but easily cleaned up with a quick vacuum. The men that did the work were diligent, polite and friendly, respectful and came on-time. They give you ample time to inspect the finished work before you sign off as "a job well done". I despised my pop-corn ceilings. They were old and yellow and made the entire house look dingy and out dated. But I was so afraid of the mess that I delayed and delayed in booking this job. Ultimately, all my fear and angst and worry was for naught. The ceiling made my home look new and modern and clean and I love them! I highly recommend this company. This company has just completed a project of removing popcorn from my ceiling and repainting it over a four day period (two days between for drying). They covered walls and furniture and protected everything with plastic including the driveway. I am very pleased with my new knockdown texture ceiling and plan to have them back to do the garage. The workmen were very knowledgeable and friendly, even though many of them do not speak English. I had to be away from home the day they returned to do the painting, and I just left my door opened for them. I had had estimates from several other companies and so I knew they were priced correctly. I would definitely recommend this company for anyone needing drywall replacement or popcorn removal. Very impressed. First of all there was a lot of back and forth about the estimate and they were very good about working with me as I changed the scope on multiple occasions. Dianne was very professional with the office work! I liked that they sent a word document on how to prep your house. A sign of a business who has a lot of experience in the field! The crew called me ahead of time on work day and came as promised. All of the team were courteous, efficient and good at their job. I left the property and came back when they called to do a quick walk-through with the party chief Luis. He was excellent and gave me confidence that they had done everything correctly. I don't know the names of the other crew members but they were all great. 3 days later the painting team came and got to work. This team seemed a little more under pressure as they had to go to a different job and it meant they rushed through the job a bit by the end and left a couple of spots untouched. I emailed the company and the very next afternoon they sent back the crew chief and paint team to review and touch up the areas I was not happy with. Unbelievable service, thanks again Luis, Jorge and Kimje. I highly recommend this company. Little thing to note. This job involved replacing a 100 sq. ft. section of ceiling drywall that was ruined by a plumbing leak. New drywall needed to be installed in the oddly shaped hole in the ceiling. The newly installed drywall had to be sprayed with texture compound, and then troweled to match the existing knockdown finish. It was a bit challenging to get the repair area to properly blend with the existing finish. But the 3-man crew, Yorbhely, Genaro and Edilio, did an excellent job in making this repair. The crew leader, Yorbhely, has over 16 years' experience doing this type of work, and he performed his work exceedingly well. Besides demonstrating the technical skills needed for the work, this crew conducted themselves in a professional and cheerful manner. They tarped the floor, and hung plastic sheeting around the entire area being repaired so as to prevent any dust or texture from getting on other surfaces in the residence. It's also worth noting that the crew all seemed to have a very high morale. That is, I could sometimes hear them whistling or singing to themselves as they worked or as they retrieved something from their truck. And they spoke very favorably about their company and its owners. I think this is revealing, since these are all signs of a healthy, well-run company. This is a direct reflection of the owners, Clay and Jacquie, who were themselves a pleasure to work with. I especially appreciate how the owners got this job quoted, scheduled and completed within 48 hours of me first contacting them. This was very important, since the damaged ceiling was directly over the dining and living room areas, which was extremely disruptive to my household. The price paid for this project was reasonable; and it was competitive with other quotes I received for the same job. It's worth noting that I have over 30 years' experience specifying and contracting building construction services for my personal residences, my rental properties and my clients' projects. When I think of the combined years of experience of the 3-man crew, the level of technical skills demonstrated on this job, and the owners' capital investment in their new commercial cargo van, their scaffolding, their specialty tools and their professional gas-powered drywall texture machine on a trailer, I know with absolutely certainty that I received great value for the price paid on this project.
