Jose Tacos, man this food truck is the kind of grease-soaked salvation you'd claw your way toward…read morethrough a ditch of stale beer and regret after a night of pounding tequila shots till your liver screams uncle. Or, shit, in my case, after a soul-crushing afternoon wandering West Elm, pretending I give a sh*t about artisanal throw pillows while secretly plotting to ram a floor lamp down my throat just to feel something real again. The air hits you like a sucker punch grilled carne asada and a fat waft of primo weed, mingling into this unholy perfume that grabs you by the nostrils and drags you face-first into the chaos. It's a go*damn siren song for the hungry, the stoned, and the downright depraved. This orange beast squats just a curly-hair from the Iowa State Capitol, a middle finger to suits and sanitation codes alike. The vibe? Pure, unfiltered food truck anarchy; think sticky asphalt, busted sidewalks, and a health inspector's rolling nightmare. I love it. I've roared past this beast thousands of times, tires screaming, on my way to some soul-crushing boutique in the East Village, but this one afternoon, the speakers are blasting Tacos! Tacos! Tacos! like a coked-up mariachi raving at the moon. It's a primal call, part rave, part ritual sacrifice and I was summoned, no questions asked. I slam down five street tacos. At three bucks a pop fu*k me, that's cheap. We're talking barebones brilliance meat dripping with grease, a sloppy sprinkle of cheese, some diced onion, and a cilantro garnish, all crammed onto a pair of corn tortillas toasted so perfectly they could double as fine art. I take a bite, and holy sh*t it's a go*damn revelation. Juices are gushing down my chin like I'm starring in a taco bukakke flick, my taste buds are doing a filthy tango with a side of donkey show flair, and I'm grinning wider than a chick eating cake at her quinceañera. For those sacred, greasy minutes, the world's a beautiful sh*tshow, and I'm the king of it sucking down taco juice while plotting my next bite. This is living, you prissy little bit*hes. Eat up.

Fair Food Fridays - Deep fried oreos

Fair Food Fridays

Is it August? Are you in Iowa? Then you got fair food on the brain…read more At work, we are kicking off the state fair with fun events. Today, they spoiled us with a food truck. Got us in the mindset by bringing in this great food truck. When they said we'd get our taste of the fair, they weren't joking. Everyone was pumped and came right out to get in line. I think I lucked out and was pretty early in the crowd. There was a whole list of foods to choose from. A really nice lady stood out front and took your orderShe was all smiles, helpful, and gave off great energy. She knew the right questions to ask and took your order. 10 out of 10 on the smile and service. I know they were slammed, but they worked hard to meet all the orders as quickly as they could. I ordered the Tenderloin with Leomade. I also ordered the fried oreos to share with my coworkers. I saw orders of hot beef Sundae and funnel cake fries come out. Walking tacos and chicken bites. No matter what your order, I see smiles and excitement. The food was perfect. The Tenderloin was perfectly fried in a bun with pickles. The oreos were sensational. I got to try the funnel cake fries, and they were good as well. Can't go wrong with anything fried and covered in powdered sugar. To top it off. Their Fair lemonade washed it all down and hit the spot. They did a great job. I heard so many compliments from my coworkers. I would 100% recommend for any employer to hire them to spoil your employees. I would 100% recommend the food if you see them in your neighborhood.
