We were part of a group of women who booked the wine tour departing from San Antonio to Fredericksburg Unfortunately, due to unforeseen circumstances, another lady in the group and I were unable to attend. Even though we understood the cancellation policy, we reached out to Richard just hours before departure. He was incredibly understanding and gracious enough to provide us with a credit to use toward a future tour. That level of customer service and kindness truly stood out to us. I also spoke with several of the women who were able to attend, and they had nothing but rave reviews about the experience. A group of girlfriends decided to take a wine tour from San Antonio to Fredericksburg, expecting a comfortable tour bus. Instead, we were picked up in an old, rundown, rusty white van. The seats were ripped, and two window-style air conditioning units were boarded into the back of the van--and they didn't even work. At one point, the driver had to work on one of the tires. Speaking of the driver--rude, rude, rude, and completely unprofessional. To make matters worse, each passenger was charged a mandatory $10 tip for this terrible service, unsafe transportation, and overall awful experience. It was beyond embarrassing to arrive at wineries in that dusty van, with air conditioning units sticking out of the back, held in place by plywood. Unfortunately I wouldn't use this again in the future. Cute idea but did not take me in town of Fredericksburg as mentioned in the listing which is one of the reasons why I books. Every where we went was an hour away from Fredericksburg. The first two locations were fine nothing fancy. The last location we went to was not a winery more like an outdoor bar, that killed the vibe for me. Also the van was hot on the drive back which was not fun. I hope to find a different company that takes us in town to see the shops and wineries if that even exists. I immediately contacted Richard Wino and he advised he would reverse the charge. It is now July 22 and this has not happened. If I could rate ZERO stars I would! This is an absolute scam. They emailed right before our tour; you try to call the number, and it goes nowhere. Richard is the one I dealt with, and he emailed back and forth for the tour. He said he would give us a deal and recommended not to buy the Groupon. He charged all of my friends and me a month before, yet suddenly the driver had some "medical emergency." They had us meet them at Twisted Sisters Bakery in Fredericksburg, Texas, which apparently does not even exist anymore. We got the email on our way to that supposed bakery. If we were able to go on the tour maybe it would be fun, but Richard is so extremely disorganized and dishonest, that we were never able to book our trip. I had a gift certificate for 2 that I received in February. My friend then bought 2 more tickets for her and another friend to join us. We booked our first trip in April, and communication was just ok - I had to reach out a couple of times to confirm because they had a typo in my email address. There is no phone number on their site, so communicating is difficult. I googled and found a number but it's always just a voicemail. It's (888) 777-9037. Our first trip in April was cancelled 2 days before the event. He said he was sorry and would provide us with "double credit" and tickets to a festival in San Antonio. On April 25 (the next day), I wrote several asking for tickets to an event in San Antonio on May 10. I wrote him again May 8 and then filled out their website form again, and I also left a message. When he finally responded he said our emails "must have gone to spam". I wrote back and said yes I would like 4 tickets to the event, and he never wrote me back. So we didn't go. (I checked my spam folder, and no emails were in there from them, ever.) We finally picked a second date to go on a tour and wrote him July 11th. I asked him to please confirm because communication had been lacking. He ignored the email again and on July 19th I wrote back, "Please answer me!" Then I filled out the FORM again on their site, stating I wasn't happy and was ready to leave a bad review, so he finally contacted me and asked me how many tickets I needed for the tour, because he had promised us 8. I said "6 please" and he scheduled us for 4 people only. When I wrote back and said we have 6 people for our celebration, he said I never answered him and the bus was full. He started playing the "accusing" game stating I didn't tell him and how was he to know. Blah, blah, blah. I still wanted to go and he said maybe we can find you a spot. I wrote him to let us know asap because the event was this weekend, and he didn't respond until I wrote an angry email. We cancelled the trip. I doubt we will get a refund for the $500 that we spent. I am writing to let you know about our horrible experience on 2/28. We booked this tour for my husbands birthday and 8 of our friends joined. It started with the bus arriving after the 11:30 leave time and waited another 15 mins. We were waiting on the bus that we were informed has a broken a/c. Driver said they tried to fix that morning but there was no other buses available. We were taken to the first location, Pig Pen, which isn't even a winery. Then to the Blue Lotus. The last stop was Fat Ass where we did not even have tasting, were told on our own to purchase drinks. This was the only location even in Fredericksburg. We never even went anywhere there was live music. The bus ride home was unbearable hot! Someone tried to open a window because it was so hot and bus driver got super angry, saying it was and emergency exit. There was noting on the window stating that, just a handle so they thought it was fine to open for some air. We were dropped off at 6pm, 30 mins before the drop off time on site. This was a HUGH discrepancy from what the site says we would experience, The site says 3 wineries in Fredericksburg and really only Fat Ass was in Fredericksburg and PIg Pen was not a winery. It states the tasting fee covers drinks at ALL locations, when we had to pay our own at Fat Ass. The most disappointing is not visiting ANY dance hall, which is the whole reason we booked this tour. We all were dressed in our boots and hats ready to dance. You cannot advertise winery tour with live music but never even stop for music. Emailed them on 3/2 and never got a response. The boat boarded as scheduled, but moments after departure, one random individual, who we now suspect was strategically planted, began breaking a rule. One star rated for being with a fun group, unfortunately no stars awarded to Texas Winos. We left late from stop 1 and subsequently 15 min late from Stop 2. No one checked who stepped onto the bus. The driver and "host" failed to communicate the entire trip. There was zero guidance as to where we were going or where we would arrive to next. No timeline. No music. We spent 30 min driving in the wrong direction which ultimately eliminated an entire stop (that we paid for) from our tour. There was no music, or interaction the entire trip despite what was advertised and also encouraged to tip for. The driver was truthfully, reckless. Sudden stops, excessive SPEEDING throughout. Sure we were behind schedule but I only wanted to arrive alive. Upon arrival the driver immediately steps off the bus to light a cigarette (after previously asking a passenger for a lighter). The host had his wife in attendance and shared wine from her glass during atleast one of our stops. Lunch was cold when we arrived late to location 1. The driver frequently took wrong turns and had to turn around to reroute to the proper destination. Upon return to drop off location 1, the driver disappeared for 10 min, presumably to smoke, before retuning to drop remaining passengers at their final location. All in all, I would not recommend this company or team for any future endeavors. Additionally, nonplussed by the three wineries we did visit. ALL HAVE REVIEWS WITH THE COMAPNY ALLEGENDLY USING CREDIT CARD INFO PAST THE PURCHASE OF THE TOUR. I made a legitimate purchase of two tickets from Texas Winos in February totaling $220. However, on May my credit card was charged again by the company for an additional $220 without my knowledge, consent, or any new booking. While I had a good time once the initial chaos of not enough bus seats was resolved, the disorganization was frustrating and diminished the overall experience. After the seating issue was worked out, the event itself was enjoyable. However, what followed is unacceptable: the company retained my payment information and charged my account again months later without authorization. I've attempted to contact them via voicemail, email, and their website, with no response. Their voicemail simply states they are "working on their phone systems." In researching this issue, I came across numerous posts on Facebook from others who allegedly experienced the same problem--unauthorized charges occurring months after their original purchase. Based on these recurring complaints, I cannot recommend this company. No matter how fun the event was, my financial and banking information should never be at risk, and this situation represents a serious security concern. Definitely a 3rd world van tour company. Would not use them again. A/C has seen better days so they were creative and removed the rear window and added plywood and a couple of home window units powered by a generator. Had some extra power left over and connected a gym floor fan up front by the driver. The passenger entry door is held secure when shut by a tie-down strap. If this thing is in an accident, getting out quickly could be a challenge. Stops are only made at wineries on contract. Our tour included the wine castle (terrible service and wine was blah), then Silver Dollar (decent lunch, wine, cider and friendly service, then Fat Ass winery (blah..) but we crossed over the highway on foot and went to Foyt (Fantastic!, but limited selection, and cool race car museum). They had planned to take us to Albert Dance Hall (seriously cool place, but on a wine tour???) and some time on our own in Johnson City, but we talked our driver into skipping this. The seats spacing was more cramped than a Southwest Airlines flight and the ride was super rough (suspension shot?). I should've looked into the reviews before but because I've toured with them in the past, I didn't even think about it. We booked a wine tour to Fredericksburg for 7 girls on September 12th. I made the initial purchase through their website directly. A few days after the event, my card was charged again for the full amount. A few days after that, it was charged a third time!! I contacted the owner via email (they don't have a phone number of course!) and he immediately said he would initiate the refund. After 2 weeks and MANY emails, I have still not received a refund. After looking them up on the Better Business Bureau, I have learned that they currently have 144 complaints!! Most of them for the exact same reason, with no response. This company is stealing money from their customers accounts and not refunding or responding to them. It is a scam and I don't know how they are still in business. read more

I started going to Texas winos events about a year ago . My friend and I bought our fist trip from Groupon . Texas Winos (TW) has day excursions from Austin, Houston and San Antonio . You meet the chartered bus at a designated pick up point (usually a restaurant parking lot ) . You can bring a cooler with drinks, alcoholic as well, and water on the bus. We left out of San Antonio and drove to Fredericksburg. The bus was completely full . Good energy, every one was very friendly. I'm not one to get motion sickness during a drive but it hit be out of the blue...If you think you may get motion sickness be sure to bring some Dramamine. Our tour guide, Anthony ,made sure everyone got on and off the bus and that no one got left behind after each stop. The 1st winery stop you will get a lunch ( BBQ, Italian) and the choice of a couple pourings of wine. It's a taste not a full glass , but this allows you to decide if you want to buy a bottle . Then you're off to the next winery. After the 1st winery people are getting loose and friendly after the 3rd winery .. watch out! Full on party, like twerking in the aisle. So if you want a quiet trip with wine connoisseur don't come on these excursions. I can't tell you all the places we went but one of them was Fat Ass winery that was crowded and a fun atmosphere, sort of like the bus!. It's a great price for the tour. Originally I think I paid $80, but once you are on their email list you can buy trips for pretty cheap as well as special making the trips very affordable.They also have a local tasting event( if you are in one of the cities that bus pickup ( San Antonio, Austin etc.). It's usually a Saturday or Sunday afternoon. There a many wineries and you get to taste the wine , you can buy a bottle if that's what you like. Really good prices. Overall I enjoyed it. Remember if you don't like rowdy people who start singing along with the music selection..don't go. read more

Had so much fun the first time we decided to go again. I had reached out a month in advance to plan for private tour we had a headcount in mind then the week of they told us they made a mistake so forced us to count one of our friends out. Super unprofessional and inconvenient considering they do this on a daily basis. Our tour bus was 45 minutes late. One of the other drivers had mentioned this particular driver (David) is ALWAYS behind. On top of forcing our headcount to be smaller, the bus being late, a friend being charged WAY over the amount of the ticket the bus they gave us was SUPER HOT. Mind you it's mid July, we are in a heat advisory and the bus was blowing hot air. We got to one of our stops and other groups mentioned their buses felt great while we were all dying inside of ours. Our driver convinced us that it'll be more hot to continue our tour and that most winery's are closed or packed which was weird. Since our whole group was sweating profusely we decided to head back to town because this experience was so .. well.. SHITTY. We also asked for a tour guide and they mentioned he would be out of town but we saw him with another party so overall just a horrible experience for the second time around! The issue is that I requested a full refund and you advised yes! This is what I got "Of course I am so very, very sorry this happened. We will process the refund immediately. Is the card you used to register still open/active to refund? (just want to make sure it is not a closed account which would delay things) I know this whole thing was a bit out of our hands, but we feel terrible about it. We waited at the pick up spot for over an hour and they kept saying the bus was on the way just to eventually say the bus broke down and our tour was cancelled. Did some research and found out there were multiple complaints filed against the company for cancellations and non refunds. Had to buy your own drink. 2nd place was very small and super crowded for an entire bus load of people. 3rd place had extremely bad service. 4th place was basically a bar and had no idea we were coming. So, for $108 I got 7 samples/tastings, paid an additional $40 for 2 drinks at 2 diff places, and possibly served unsafe food. Emailed the company and got a crappy response.
