My family ordered the Air Force logo shadow box from out of state for my retirement in San Antonio. I had to drop off everything to be included in the shadow box, but they did a really nice job arranging it and it was ready in time for my ceremony as promised. Sharon at Pat Booker, is always a pleasure to work with. She is knowledgeable and even when she is busy keeps her positive attitude going. She is normally alone when I usually go during lunch which means she is always busy. Most recently she helped coordinate a last minute gift so we could make sure to get it by a certain date. I don't think we would use this place as much as we do if it wasn't for her willingness to assist and take care of the customers. read more

Chad, It's this type of customer service that's makes any small business successful...its not much, but simple communication. As a business owner, I've hired/fired plenty of JOHN's over the years. Some are disgruntled from the beginning and never work out. Others, because of their tenor, think they're doing their customers a favor. Either way, it results in lost revenue and bad reviews. The fact that Chad simply replied with a concern, tells me a lot of his business. Chad provided me great customer service. He went above and beyond to help me out and was able to have my statue back in the classroom in two days. Chad took a horrible experience (Dropped off statue on 20 Dec 2017-Promised on 5 Jan 2018 Pat Booker location with John Bryant), stopped by several times turning an "Ok it takes time" into "seriously its March 1, 2018". Left the store that day with a nasty feeling off "WOW" how many other folks have had that experience with this John. Went in today to inquire about engraving on a Lighter. The young lady behind the counter was very friendly, and was able to answer basic questions. A couple of minutes later, an older gentleman comes from the back room to "help" me. He was unable or unwilling to help me decide what was going into the engraving. He would provide vague answers to direct questions, and at one point completely ignored me in order to answer a phone call, leaving me to wonder if he could help me. I ended up walking out while he was on the phone because of his unprofessional behavior. I understand that 3 lines of engraved text on a lighter isn't going to exactly float a business for any period of time. but customers are customers and should be treated with respect regardless of the size of your order. I will never enter this establishment again. read more

It was the end of my 4 year old daughter's first ever soccer season so I thought it would be nice to get her and her teammates some trophies for an almost undefeated season. As well as get her coach a nice plaque as a a token of our appreciation. I was kind of scared honestly because I read the reviews they had but since it was the closest trophy location I found I decided what the heck! As soon as I walked in the lady was happy to help out. She pointed us towards her trophy and plaque sections. We filled out the order form n couldn't figure out what to write on the plaque so we were given their email address to send them what we wanted the plaque to say. Two days after they received my email the lady called saying my order was ready for pick up. My order was perfect! I loved the trophies and the plaque looked awesome! They really did an amazing job. Absolutely horrible customer service. No follow up by staff and clearly understaffed in order to provide the proper customer service. Staff actually felt the best method to resolve the lack of communication and error in my order with a shouting match.....with the customer paying you for your service. Absolutely unreliable. The worst customer service. Ordered a shadow box for my husband's retirement, gave them enough time to finish before the retirement ceremony. I was promised/told that it will be done on time. Gave the stuff to be put in the box ahead of time, and once again told that it will be ready. Followed up a week before my husband's retirement ceremony, I was told they will call me back... but no call. I called again few days before the ceremony, now I'm getting nervous, and I was told again that they will call me back (they are checking from their other branch). No call back. I called the day before the ceremony and I was told they don't have the box, still in Lackland branch. And again, I was told they will call me back... and no call, so I called again, but this time it's in the afternoon. The ceremony is the next day at 1000. The guy I talked to said he will go get the box himself and deliver to my house that night or early the next day before the ceremony. No one came, no call, so I called the next day at 0830... guess what, the lady said "oh we have the box sitting here". Wow, just wow. So I asked to talk to the guy that promised me to deliver to my house... He said to me "oh I told you I will try...." At this point, there is no point of arguing. These people need a 101 customer service class. They don't understand how important this to me... and to my husband. They just don't care. All they could have done is update me, reach out to me, I don't mind driving myself to their other branch in Lackland and pick up the box. This event is important to me. Sorry for the long review, just venting out. But don't go to this place. read more

New to SA, I needed a shop to prepare a retirement shadow box for a service member. I chose a box, then attempted to design the contents consisting of service patches, rank, dress uniform badges and awards. The staff highly recommended "John" as he does a great job. I was pleased to hear that, and agreed to allow john to use his expertise. Three weeks later when we went to pick up the shadow box, it looked nice enough but upon examination we realized that there was a hair attached to one item, the flag which we did fold was loosening in the shadow box (apparently they won't even touch the folded flag in order to tuck the pleat back into place), there were full fingerprints on brass items, and badges were not appropriately placed. Our fault for not scrutinizing upon pickup. Once we arrived home, and observed these issues we called the store. John then accused us of "opening the box" and creating these issues. Apparently he didn't believe he could make these mistakes. Well, john..yes you or someone in your shop did. Recommendations for others: do not buy a shadowbox containing a flag from this pat booker location shop, don't let John do it himself..provide your own design, scrutinize what you pickup before you leave the shop (my fault for trusting the shop), and lastly...Don't use this shop for shadowboxes. I am sure they do a fine job with simpler projects. read more

I went to texas trophies to have a going away gift made for my troop. When I figured out what I wanted (an award plaque with engraving on it) I was quoted by the lady at the front desk that it will be 30 dollars. I said to myself wow that's pretty good. The lady said it would be done by thursday...I didn't receive a call on that day so I called and they told me it wouldn't be done til friday. So I went to get my plaque on friday and one number was incorrect for the year on the plaque (my fault). So they told me we will call when its corrected. So, when I came back to get the corrected plaque the lady rung it up for 63.78. I said for what! and she said for the correction, I said for one number! Things didn't get any better when a man who I didn't get his name came up and with a condescending tone said we had to get a whole new plaque and engrave the letters because of your mistake! So it is an extra 25 dollars. I told him that is excessive but what irritated me besides his tone was why was I not told this before I left i.e. the cost of engraving and other expenses. It was clearly misleading and they were not willing to compromise, wow! Well my advice is to don't make a mistake here because they'll charge you for a brand new plaque shadow box or whatever you order. Wont be going back there again! read more
