The massive oak had been overshadowing the magnolia for years, limiting its sunlight and airflow. Their crew carefully opened up the canopy while preserving the beauty and character of the oak. When they were finished, the canopy looked absolutely incredible--perfectly balanced and still the centerpiece of my property. Driving up to my home, it's the first thing you notice, and it honestly looks even more beautiful than before. Fast forward a few months, and I noticed several large dead limbs on the magnolia that never recovered. I assumed it was my responsibility since I had waited so long to call, and I fully expected to pay for another service visit. I hired TC last year to trim my large oak trees, tall palm trees, and mulch my yard. TC replied to…read moremy inquiry the same day and he came out to see me either that day or the next day. We walked my property (which is about one acre) and talked about each tree individually. What I liked was that TC is not about a quick fix. We talked about the health of the tree and about how we want the property to look as the trees matured. I want it to look like the stately manor that it is. Ok, money talk, haggle, haggle, haggle! Ok, this is in my blood. TC might be easy, but he sure ain't cheap. I told him this too! After agreeing on a price, he had guys out the next day. When the guys were trimming and thinning out the branches, they had let all the branches and leaves fall into my pool! After they trimmed a certain tree, I decided I wanted that tree removed. I went out and told them to remove the tree. The guy was very polite and told me that he would have to talk to TC, totally understand, he was ensuring that there was good communication between all of us. After a few minutes, he removed the tree for me. They continued working on my property when I had to step out for a bit. When I drove up to my house, I could not recognize it. It was so beautiful. Ladies, its like getting a makeover for your hair, new color and cut. The trees really took my breath away. I can now picture putting up an old fashioned swing on one oak branch and climbing up another branch to enjoy the view from up top. I remembered my pool with all the leaves and branches. They cleaned it. They cleaned up everything. Let's talk about the mulching in the front yard. TC underestimated the amount of mulch so I ended up having to pay him extra. They did clear out the weeds for me before mulching. If you hire their mulching service, get a jug of Preen ready to make sure the weeds don't grow back. I also had to pay a little extra to cut down the tree I mentioned earlier. It's been a year and the trees are growing in nicely and are all healthy. Final verdict--He's expensive, but I would definitely hire him again. He's worth every penny.

I called a well-known tree service company that had an arborist but despite…read morea conversation with the office, as well as sending a text with photos of the tree problem and shrubbery issues, and the promise that an arborist would look at the photos, I never heard back from the company. After several days, I gave up and called Garrett Tree Services and spoke with Theo,. He came over to the residence very quickly, took a look at the problem and made his suggestions. I thought I was dealing with a major fungus problem with a tree and a large shrub, it really looked bad. But he said that this could be normal aging, treatment wasn't needed at this time because that was very expensive to do, and that we should just prune and clean up the plants and see how they did, revisiting the issue if it recurred. it looked pretty bad and I figured the neighbors thought we were trashing the street. :-) Anyway, Theo turned up the next day with two other people and in about an hour they had the large pear tree pruned and cleaned up, the large shrub in front of the house pruned and trimmed and shaped, and they hauled away a large limb from a water oak that had fallen in the last storm. He charged a very good price and I was happy to pay and not worry about things anymore. If there are issues down the road, then I can call Theo, and we'll look at it and discuss it again, but for now I think everything's in great shape and the front garden certainly looks better attended.
