We were lucky he took over for a Doctor that was retiring (Dr Smith), it just so happen here did his residency in Corpus Christi where we had lived. They say God works is ways we don't understand. Dr Rad Kothmann was the doctor who took over for Dr Smith. We have had Dr Kothmann for about 15 yrs. He never treated us like he was better than us or became we were in the older bracket. With his help he helped me with my many real medical problems & worked with we me to keep me out of ER. When my husband became sick he listen to what I to say, he admitted him found a blood clot & that he has blood cancer which was no treatment for. I think he took it harder than me) my husband & I have been married 55 + yrs. my husband went to hospice Dr Kothmann had his nurses check on my husband twice a day & they wee a phone call away. He made sure my husband was comfortable and not in pain. He also kept an eye on me. He is a family man with a wonderful wife a two great daughters I should know I met them. In one instance, a NP misdiagnosed a skin condition. I even spoke up and said "I know it's not that". Upon getting a 2nd opinion elsewhere, the condition was correctly diagnosed, and treated. As well as feeling gaslit over certain symptoms, and possible treatments by 2 different doctors during my time as a patient there. Yet again, upon going to a different provider, in San Antonio, all of my concerns were addressed and successfully treated. The doctor wasn't in that day so the assistant was able to put temporary glue on my crown and get me on my way. When I arrived a few days later to get the new crown Dr Hoerster was there and he absolutely blew me away. Words to describe him: Full of Integrity, compassionate, knowledgeable, honest, gentle, kind, generous. I am a difficult case with issues with vertigo and he had to stand up to get in my mouth because I can't lay back fully because it makes me dizzy. His level of compassion about that truly humbled me. I was so nervous about this visit but Dr Hoerster and his entire staff completely put me at ease. I was amazed by how comprehensive the exam was (I never had anything more than x-rays before!). They even did a cancer screening and gum recession test! In all that I got to meet several of his staff members and they were all beyond wonderful! THANK YOU DR HOERSTER AND ALL OF YOUR STAFF!
