Pros: Dr. Oosterbaan has always made me feel welcome. The staff offer the best customer service as well. I like the frame options they have. I tried going to different places to find what I liked since I didn't want to pay the price but ended up coming back to this office to get the frames I wanted. Cons: I feel like I'm at a sales appointment every time I come here. The Dr and the staff are all good sales people. On one hand it's annoying because I feel like stabbing my eyes out after I get the quote... on the other hand, they're charming so that monkey part of my brain gives in and buys the over-priced glasses. It feels likes I'm at a timeshare sales presentation. Everyone is friendly and treats you well... but they want to get as much money out of patients as possible. One time I came in for a regular eye exam and they upgraded my exam to one not covered 100% by my insurance and didn't even tell me they gave me the other "optional" exam. I was upset and it irritates me that you have to make sure you tell them not to include any special treatments without disclosing the price ahead of time. My recommendation to the company is stop going for everyone's wallets. Be transparent with pricing and give customers the choice to have two different quotes; the bells and whistles and the moderate option. I always feel like I've been to a car lot when I visit. I come in for a dependable Hyundai and leave with a damn Bugatti. I don't recommend this office to people because even though I like the glasses I get and the customer service, I feel financially taken advantage of every time. I kept going back because I live in the boonies and there aren't many high-quality options around me. Now that I have the frames I want in stock, I'll just get my lenses updated online instead of doing it through them again. I can't understand how buying one pair of glasses for an average expense of $150 turned into a $600+ expense and I don't even have special needs for my eyes. read more

Regular customer for past couple of years. Placed a reorder of contacts and was told they'd be in few days. Left town for couple of weeks and called to be told they' were never ordered because I hadn't paid. Idiotic, I had given my CC number and even if I hadn't as noted I'm a regular customer there. Very expensive, comparatively speaking. Asking people to make multiple appointments to pick up contacts, after employees stating that you can take them home and wear them a day or two, inexcusable. Rude front office, friendly back office, but not knowledgeable. Asked for dark transitions. Got very light. Expensive mistake. Staff that is unaware of advertised hours. If you have diabetes or other vision difficulties, see an optimologist and skip this place. A condescending attitude and assuming that you know more than someone more specialized is insane. Very high prices for the lowest quality glasses we've ever bought. The lenses scratch incredibly easy and getting someone at EC to work to make things right is more work than it's worth...after all, they refuse to refund any money and offer up just the same low quality product again if they offer anything at all. Most likely you'll be ignored in hopes you'll go away as we were. We will go somewhere else, anywhere else, soon since these glasses are too fragile to actually use. Two pair of glasses bought. One pair has a haze on the lenses that look like micro-fractures in the coatings, possibly. Under certain light conditions, the lenses act as if they are smudged and very noticeably affect vision. I suppose this doesn't matter all that much, but maybe the information will help someone else. The other pair of glasses scratch incredibly easy and became unusable in a couple months. We replaced both pair of glasses thru an inexpensive online source for a fraction of the cost and have been very satisfied. Don't waste your money with EC. read more

This guy is obviously only in it for the money. He ran a large, unnecessary tab on me and my insurance for tests not needed, including a dilation. Then wanted me to make another appointment for what I came in for. I'm glad I bailed before he got any deeper into my wallet. Never again! Stay away from this place. The doctor is good but the prices are expensive. Eye exam with no glasses or contacts was $284. Eye exam for wife with contact Rx and lenses for old frames was $744. Took four hours for both of us. They did not disclose prices until process was complete. Was really shocked as I have had exams in larger cities, with the same tests/processes for far less money. read more

I took my son to get his eye examined and the DR is not a very people person! My son tried to shake his hand and he refused because he felt like he had a skin disease. For the DR's information my son has a loss of skin pigmentation due to a DR giving him a cream in which it caused damage to his skin and turned it white. The eye DR even took the time to research skin diseases in front of my son. The DR has no sense of morals for the feelings of others including my son. Instead of asking my son what it was he automatically assumed and rejected what could have been a regular local customer! I will with no hesitation tell everyone about this visit! read more
