Are used to be a customer, a regular customer with Texas Star. when they first started the company we were a customer all of my family or customers and I would recommend them to just about everybody the problem with Texas Star Propane now he's I've gotten too big and they no longer appreciate the customers I have, and are willing to take care of them. Their prices are outrageous. It's always a game to get propane I called them to get a price and it's always how much do you need? What do you want if we fill your tank up you're going to get a better price instead of just saying it is $3.10 a gallon. I would rate them the same as I would rate AmeriGas horrible. I met Joel, the owner several years ago when the "Maffia-Amerigas" tried running everyone out of business. Texas Star treats ALL their customers like "FAMILY", and offers Top Notch service! I purchased a larger 500 gallon tank from Texas Star, and the swap out went Excellent. Joel gave me excellent advice on my propane use and even told me the best time to Top Off the tank for best pricing. From Generator use during hurricane season, to frigid winters using gas heat, it's great to have a loyal friendly company that Always puts YOU first from safety tips, to getting the most usage for less. Texas Star is NOT the company it once was and founded on. I have been a customer for many years and the service has gotten AWEFUL!!! I had my own 500 gal tank but when it got too old to have any more repairs, I had to have it replaced. I am not on SS only and had to resort to leasing a tank from Texas Star. They told me I was a keep full customer but when they installed the new tank, no paperwork was given me for that contract. So guess what happened the 1st night of the BAD freeze last year? Yeah, you guess it...I ran out of propane because they said it was a "will call" customer. Fast forward a year, and now I am a "keep full" customer, meaning they are supposed to come by and fill my tank without me having to call them, last week I noticed the 2nd day of the freeze, I was at 20%. I thought surely they would come. 2 days later I checked and now I'm at less than 10%. That was Friday. I called and was told I would get delivery either Fri evening or Sat....NOTHING ALL WEEKEND. I even called Sat to see if I was still on a route but no one was courteous enough to return my v/m to even let me know if I was or not. Monday a.m. (today) I call and yes, I will get delivery today. 2 p.m. I called again, and was told "the driver knows you are to get delivery today. The office closes at 5 but they will still be working." I had to leave at 4:00 for an engagement and when I returned at 9:00 p.m., my tank is STILL EMPTY!!!! It's COLD (65 degrees) in my house and there has been NO call saying "we're sorry, we'll be there tomorrow" or ANYTHING...just tough it out! THESE PEOPLE SUCK!!!!!! And as soon as I can make other arrangements, they can come get their stupid tank and shove it up their @--!!! read more

We are on there " check tank " program where they are supposed to check our tank periodically and not let it run out of propane..... last night when it is 30 degrees outside I came home to no propane. Meaning no heat in house and no hot water!! This is the 4th time this has happened.... and the only thing that was said is we are sorry we will try to have someone out there tomorrow. read more

I'm visiting the area from KY. Our propane tanks needed to be recertified and filled. I called everyone in the area, no walk-ins allowed due to covid. I made a call, told me to come on in. Once I walked in, everyone was super friendly. The women were as kind to tell me about other RV parks where I could go on my next job. And they were cheaper than most for tank refill. Used this company for 5 years. No problems until this winter. 370 gallons were put in my tank in a 2 week period. Never has this much propane been used in the past, even on a colder year. When questioned about it, nothing was done to audit the account and double check their numbers. Propane was issued from the truck, but not at mt residence. Theft without a doubt. read more

Motto or not, I don't think customer service is very high on this company's priority list. Texas Star canceled a loosely scheduled delivery because the driver was running AHEAD of schedule and could not wait for me. We had agreed to set the delivery as late in the day as possible because I have a 1 1/2 hour commute and would have to leave work early since they do not deliver after hours. They called me shortly before they were supposed to make the delivery to see if I could be available earlier but when I called them back just 15 minutes later I was told it was too late. I asked for the general manager to see if I could get scheduled as early as possible another day, expecting at least some consideration. Instead, I got a wild tirade telling me the person who tried to schedule the delivery should not have done it, that all they would agree to was "some time between 8:00 and 5:00", that he couldn't pay a driver to sit and wait 15 minutes for one new customer but "piss off" 6 other customers, and on, and on - very loud, and very rude when I had made a point to be as polite as possible. I never even got a chance to ask for his help because he cut me off and continued his rant whenever I tried to say anything. I finally hung up. I called Texas Star because of the one good review on this site. Since then, I have found several very poor reviews on other sites. I should have done my homework better. Do business with these people at your own risk; but if you do have a problem and turn to management looking for help - or at least some courtesy - do not expect it. read more

We were an Amerigas customer until they raised our propane price so high that we were forced to compare. Texas Star was $1.00 per gallon cheaper with better service. And our tank rental dropped by 80%! Great company. read more

I called them as a new propane user (bought a new house with a propane tank) and they went out of their way to educate me and got the tank filled up quickly and professionally just as it was getting super cold - we were almost at empty and our parrots like to be kept warm!
