Half 1/2 Slab Ribs with Steamed Vegetablesand Steak Fries. Pretty bad overall
    Doris C.

3 stars for the kind service and that delicious delicious bread; 2 stars for the other food though The server asked if it was our first time (which it was) and they gave us a plate of sides in sample cups. This was helpful in helping us decide which sides we wanted. The bread with whipped cinnamon butter is absolutely divine. I could totally eat an entire basket. I ordered the half slab of ribs; basically what you expect from a family diner type of ribs. The steak fries were soggy and I left them untouched (and fyi, i love steak fries). The steamed veggies were carrots and broccoli...but unseasoned.

I ordered the ribs like I have a number of times but this time the sauce was spicy and didn't taste the same as previously. I'm not sure if this is a local thing or chain wide. Sides were good. You can't beat those buns and butter. Server was attentive. Restaurant was clean. That deer head did watch me eat. I'm not sure if I was being judged! Lol

Decided to sneak in for an early lunch today after a workout at Crunch fitness. I was able to get on the wait list online and check-in on line. It was nice. We were seated very quickly. As they seat you, they give you a basket of bread. Unfortunately, we had to ask the waitress for fresh bread. Ours was cold and not delicious. She brought some warm, fresh bread and it was all good. The Cinnamon butter is so good. We ordered a Strawberry and a Mango Margarito along with steak kabobs and a Roadhouse burger. The Margaritas were excellent. Huge glasses, strong enough, perfect. Both meals were cooked exactly how we requested. Food was solidly delicious. Overall, the experience and food was very good. Definitely no complaints. Price was good. For 2 of us with a tip, it was $55. No reason I can see that I wouldn't come back.

We placed an advanced order for pick up. We arrived a couple min early. 20 min later we received a text our order was ready. It was not. Once we returned to our hotel from pick up (we had been driving for 10.5 hours) we found our food to be cool to lukewarm. Our drive was 4 min. Tater skins - the picture is after they were heated up, they lost some of their pumpkin orange color. Some had no soft bacon, some were covered. Med sirloin ordered - med rare received. Which is impressive considering it looked burnt from the outside. Side of cheddar bacon fries- more orange cold cheese on cold fries. Med rare sirloin ordered - med well received. Same burnt look as the other, but much smaller. Otherwise we would have switched. Sweet potato with butter - one potato smashed in the box - no butter for you! Caesar salad with extra dressing- nope! Not on our watch! (Why it it an option when ordering if you aren't going to get it?) Rolls (which were supposedly the reason everything was so slow- per another customer) were hot. Like, the 7 containers of cinnamon honey butter would have been a puddle for those 4 rolls! Too bad we don't care for either. The girl who handed us our bag was friendly. The man she seemed to be letting know we weren't happy did nothing but stare at me. And not in a friendly way.

It's a great spot, not overly busy, and we originally planned to sit outside by the water, which looked beautiful. Unfortunately, it was too windy, so we headed inside. The inside is super cute, but a bit loud and echoey, some background music would've helped. One small downside: we weren't sure how to order whether to sit or go to the counter and the staff just kind of looked at us instead of greeting or guiding us, which made the start feel a little awkward. Overall the food was delicious. I'll definitely be back!

Life simply kept getting busy, but eventually we made our way over to The Attic West on a Friday evening. Apparently, everyone else in Sioux Falls had the same idea. The place was absolutely packed and the wait was quite long. At one point, we honestly considered giving up and going elsewhere, but since this had been a gift and we'd heard many locals speak highly of the restaurant, we decided to stick it out. One thing we've definitely learned while living in the Midwest is that bar-and-grill style restaurants are deeply woven into the dining culture here. Sioux Falls has many places with this sort of atmosphere, and honestly, we've adapted fairly well to it even though it differs a lot from some of the larger-city dining scenes we were used to previously. Unfortunately, the food itself just didn't quite work for us. We ordered steak, jambalaya, and buffalo wings. The steak, despite being ordered medium rare, came out drier than we would have liked and lacked much distinctive flavor. It wasn't terrible, but it definitely wasn't memorable either. The jambalaya was probably the biggest disappointment of the evening. It was overwhelmingly salty to the point where it became difficult to really enjoy the dish underneath the seasoning. The buffalo wings were acceptable enough, but again, they also leaned dry. Service was understandably stretched because of how busy the restaurant was, though the staff themselves seemed to be working hard under the pressure. Overall, this simply wasn't quite our cup of tea in terms of either the food or the atmosphere. I can understand why it appeals to many locals looking for a lively Friday night gathering spot, but for us personally, it probably isn't somewhere we'd return to. A 2 out of 5 from us.

One look at the menu was an epiphany... a rare, if not the only, time I could not find a single item I didn't want to order. The ambience is rustic central plains frontier. Straight ahead by a large open bar, you can see the meat on the rotisserie. Restaurant is large and cozy. Dark woods, modern lighting, many booths with ample seating. Floors are concrete and many nature pictures line the walls. This place has everything from handheld sandwiches to salmon and rotisserie chicken, a broad selection of appetizers and soups and salad salads. I ordered a Guinness draft and it came in a very large glass. Many tap beers to choose from. We ordered the woodfired chicken wings, a rotisserie chicken, which is accompanied with mashed potatoes and cornbread, and my husband also ordered a cup of corn chowder. The chicken wings I thought were delicious. The flavor is smoky and pepper. Not your traditional wing, but it includes the drumstick and the wing. You get six in total. It comes with blue cheese and ranch. My husband did not care for the wings. He thought they had too much of a pepper taste. My only concern was they were not served hot. They were barely warm when they got to my table. The blue cheese dressing was basically ranch dressing with a few dry blue cheese crumbles mixed in. Not a good flavor. The corn chowder was very mushy. It had the texture of baby food. He did not enjoy it. It also was served warm and not hot. Rotisserie chicken comes out with a thigh and drumstick of dark meat and white meat. However, the chicken is very dry. Taste like rotisserie chicken should taste But nothing special. The mashed potatoes are not creamy. But clumpy. They are red skin and I love when the skin is left on the potatoes. However, they taste like a baked Redskin potato with no salt, pepper, or butter. Flavorless. The cornbread has good flavor. But again, try. There is no butter to accompany it. Might taste good with some honey or butter on the side. I love the look and coziness of the restaurant. I wanted it to be fantastic. I was extremely disappointed in the food. I tried to make it work, but with the cold food and the lack of flavor, it was a big miss. When you take a bite of rotisserie chicken, and then you need to take a drink before taking your next bite of food, you know it is dry. When in Rome do as the Romans do. When in Sioux Falls Falls do not ROAM to this restaurant. I would not come back to this restaurant. I would give it 2 stars for the food. However, Darla was our waitress and she was very kind and attentive. She gets a five star rating. But the good service does not balance out the awful food.

We arrived for our reservation and were seated at a table that wouldn't allow a high chair by restaurant rules. We were moved to a much smaller table that couldn't accommodate the 5 of us. The table was also located directly under a very loud speaker and a television. When asked if this table was ok, we stated our concerns that the table was very small and that our family couldn't hear each other due to the speaker. The hostess said it was all they could do. We decided to give it a chance as it was our first time here. My husband ordered the pulled pork sandwich and I ordered the chicken honey almond penne. Husband says the pulled pork itself was good but the onion rings inside the sandwich were stale making the sandwich feel past expiration. My penne was completely over cooked to the point where the chicken was more of a jerky consistency and the pasta was disintegrating if you tried to use your fork to collect it. Our other guests enjoyed the steak stating it was ok. From the start with our requests for accommodation being ignored to finish with possibly the worst dishes I've ever overpaid for, this experience was one I never would wish on anybody.
