Long version: Scenario - It's a freezing (sub 40 degree) day in North Texas and I'm out of town on a business trip with my wife, son and mother-in-law at our home in Flower Mound. Wife calls and says the heater is not kicking on. She calls an HVAC company who comes by checks the heater in the attic and says, the unit is working however there is a pipe that vents through the roof of the attic that seems clogged or bent, but they don't do those type of repairs and she would need to call a roof company. Frantically, I scour Yelp for a good review and find people glowing about Bret's service and I give him a call. It's late in the day on Friday and when I explain the scenario, he immediately sprung into action and helped us resolve the issue. I'm going to highlight multiple reasons why Bret, owner of Texas Pride Roofing and Fencing will always have my business for roof and fence needs for as long as I live in the DFW metroplex. 1. Promptness - When I called Bret although it was later in the day, he was willing to head to our home and check out the situation, getting to our home in a couple of hours due to the severity of the situation. 2. Honesty - He took photos of the situation and gave a fair assessment of the situation. In this instance he said, "I don't have all of the parts that I need now but I can get you up an running for today, and then come back next week after I'm able to get the parts when I can get to a supply shop" 3. Thorough - He was on the roof, in the attic, and investigating the situation from every angle. Shared photos of his assessment, and was descriptive about what he was doing. 4. Genuine - The first time he came to the house, he hopped on FaceTime to talk to me and make me feel at ease with him at the house with my wife and family. You can look at someone's eyes and know that they are being sincere, that is this guy 100% 5. Follow up - It took him coming to the house a few times to get the situation completed, and I had to ask him for an amount that I owed him. He wanted to make sure that I was satisfied before asking for money. A true stand up guy, good business man, and yes, the roof is fixed, the exhaust pipe repaired, and the heat is working. I'm so glad that I found TX Pride Roofing for my flat roof replacement for my carport. Even though it was a small job versus doing a whole house, Bret didn't hesitate to give me a fair estimate. We contacted Bret after we filed an insurance claim due to hail damage to our roof and had it confirmed we needed to replace it. We put in for multiple bids and Bret made a competitive bid and we were impressed by his expertise, communication and that he was not pushy at all. He priced us out several options and once we made a decision he went to work as soon as the weather allowed (it rained a lot during the time period). He timed the work well and completed the roof in a single day. We also needed new gutters and chimney repair and he took care of that the next time weather allowed for it. Even though our contract technically called for half the payment before and the rest after the work was completed, Bret did not ask for payment for the roof until after it was completed and for the gutters and chimney once that work was completed. Bret was able to resolve the original issue I noticed with a leak along with some other issues I wasn't aware of that could have caused some massive problems down the road. First resolved the main issue, some vents leaking and some areas where shingles were sagging and not set up right since the last owner repaired the roof. But Bret also pointed out that the vent top for my dryer wasn't the correct model and was becoming a fire risk with all the lint being caught up in it. I hired Bret Dickey to re-roof my house and install a mesh screen to prevent the squirrels from getting in the attics. After a few days, the mesh screen fell off. I informed him about this issue. Shane did an awesome job putting up a gate for us! His communication was amazing and we greatly appreciate it! So we asked them to put up a back fence for us as well later on. This time communication was awful! It took so long to even get someone to call us back about this. They FINALLY came out and put up a back fence but again communication was awful! The fence is fine and did a good job. Then, we asked to get it stained after the fence was put up and I am still to this day waiting for an estimate price on staining. No one has contacted us about an estimate even though someone came out two weeks ago to look at it. They do a good job putting up a fence but expect a good 2 weeks before you even hear back from someone. I recommend them if you have time to wait a while to hear back from Bret to discuss anything with him! I feel communication is key for a business especially with clients!
