I came in for migraines and saw Dr Herzog once during my 1st appointment and never saw him again. The NP Paige pushed me into trying botox even though it did nothing for my migraines for the entire year that I got the shots. My MRA was barely reviewed and I made to stay on Emgality for 11 months because we "needed to test if the botox was effective". Word of advice: if the patient is still in excruciating pain, neither one is effective. read more

Very friendly, ease of scheduling great. Everything under one roof which made getting MRIs done quick and efficient. Only problem is I live out of town and was given a worrying diagnosis per my MRI. Office said they never received the fax from my home neurosurgeon requesting images. They said they cannot send electronically - only by CD. They decided to send snail mail with no postal tracking while I suffer with fear and anxiety waiting 9 days for the CD to arrive. read more

I've been going to Texas Neurology for about five years now. I highly recommend Texas Neurology to anyone who needs neurological care. Dr. Philip listened to me and my concerning symptoms. She walked me through each step of the process, and eventually diagnosed me with a rare degenerative neuromuscular disorder. Having an answer to what was going on was so helpful. She helped me have the tools I need to manage my illness. I've also had migraines since childhood and, once I started seeing Dr. Samuel, my migraines are not nearly as debilitating or frequent as they used to be. Dr. Samuel is amazing and truly cares about you as a person. She remembers small details from conversations during previous visits (like that I got a new puppy, my work life, family, etc.) and asks me how those things are going during the next visit. read more

My son was a patient there for MTS and seizures. He was finally scheduled for an EMU 2/24 but no one from Dr. Jamys office called him or me to advise of this inpatient procedure. They mailed it which he received 2 days after scheduled EMU SO we had no idea. All they had to do was CALL HIM OR ME no missed calls or any voicemails. Hospital called the day of admission asking where he was at. We did not know BECAUSE WE WERE NOT NOTIFIED. We had to reschedule for 6/22/24. He died on 4/10/24 from a seizure in his apartment. Never entrust your care to this office. Ever. We will never get our son back and now I have to live with the guilt of entrusting his care to this crap of an office, doctors and their assistants. That is him in the picture 1 month before he passed so I'm telling you find another neurologist for your or your child's care. read more

I am writing this review on behalf of my legally blind twin sister based on what she has been telling me over the last four years she has been going to this horrible "new" location. She likes the doctor, Dr. El-Feky, whom she has been going to since 1999, but it seems like the quality of care she has received in the last two years isn't as good as it used to be. She still likes the doctor and said he did listen to her concerns very well. He doesn't even so much as touch her anymore (he used to do reflex tests) and send her to the lab, but didn't even send her to the lab this time which she was glad. She waited about 20 minutes in the waiting room and another 50 minutes in the exam room. She got so tired of sitting, so she stood up, then the doctor came in! After waiting over an hour, the doctor only spends 3 minutes with her in the exam room. Obviously, since she is legally blind and cannot drive and has to rely on someone to take her there, he could at least spend 10-15 minutes with her to make it worth the extra effort for her to get there, only then to hurry up and wait. We both HATE this new location and "cold" building (not warm and inviting like the former Lakewood location) hidden in the back in between too many other semi-tall buildings. It is almost impossible to get to and find a place to park instead of that awful parking garage with that steep ramp. I have to drop her off at the front door (they should have moved to a medical building with a drop-off area for disabled people), then find a place to park. There's no direct route to get there, and I've been driving in Dallas since 1977 and am familiar with Twin Sixties street, so i thought Texas Neurology would be easy to find, NOT - way too congested. read more

Dr. Sheffield did not take a single one of my concerns seriously. He refused to listen to my symptoms, repeatedly insisted that we most likely "wouldn't find anything" despite not even trying, and it took another doctor stepping in for him to be persuaded to do any other testing. So disappointed and the office staff was very hard to work with, telling me that they would not try to get me in sooner for an emergency because of a previous "cancelled appointment". read more

I have been suffering from headaches for years, and they have gotten more severe in recent years. My previous neurologist ran out of ways to help me and suggested this practice. That practice was well organized and properly contacted my insurance and quoted me UPFRONT. This practice? They take your insurance info, run it over two weeks before the appointment, tell you your copay is X amount, then wait until a week after your appointment and send you the REAL bill. My insurance did not change, and this NEVER happened with my previous neurologist. Both neurologists are specialists under my insurance. Then, when I tried to call the billing department (at Texas Neuro), they did not even return my call, so I had to call back and ask for them through the front office. The care quality is also subpar. Upon meeting with the doctor, I was excited to have a game plan. But everything he said they would do never got done. I was told I would receive a call back BEFORE my next appointment regarding another procedure, never happened. Once again, I had to reach out and see what was happening. I don't like leaving reviews, but as you can see, I am at my wits' end. This place will tell you one thing, then do the complete opposite, and blame you for it. Do not recommend. read more

Absolutely abysmal service, I went in last week told the doctor exactly what I needed and he decided he'd do it his way, him being the doctor and all I went along with it. Turns out he had no idea what he was talking about and every try to get in contact with the office since has ended in a receptionist transferring me to some department that has not picked up the phone in the last week that I've tried calling. And if I do get lucky enough for someone to answer the phone my questions and concerns are met with indifference, as if the person on the other line is ready to hang up the phone at any given moment. I just want to say that some of the providers do not have compassion to their patients. It took them 4 years to realize I had Parkinson's Disease, after thinking it was a stroke. I was also told that it may be psychological issues. When I went to an appointment, the provider I was to see never showed up and the staff actually forgot about me in the room. I was informed that that provider was not able to see me now, because he thought I missed my appointment. They did find another provider I could be worked with and I agreed. Well, when Dr. Greenfield came in to see me, he asked questions and then asked if I was diagnosed with Parkinson's, I told him I had several Cat-scans and MRIs, but no I was never tested for PD. I was tested and the test did show signs of PD. I would have stayed with that facility, but Dr. Greenfield retired a couple months later. My trust in getting the proper care from this facility is very low. It appears that other feel the same with the providers here. read more

I had an MRI done about 6 weeks ago with images to be mailed to my neurosurgeon who is out of state. The MRI center had all the details on where to mail the cd and claimed they mailed the cd overnight. Well, after a week my doctor didn't receive anything. I reached out to the MRI center and they said they'd send again. Again, nothing was received. Since I couldn't get my meds until the cd was received and reviewed, I personally drove to Texas Neurology to obtain the cd and mail it. When I mailed it next day, guess what?! It was delivered. But it was broken. Given the MRI department's issues with mailing, I personally picked up a second cd and packaged it in bubble tape, sadly (and this is a me and post office issue) the same issue occurred with the cd breaking. (Smoke coming out my nose) At this point, my surgeon calls the MRI department who claim they'll mail it in a box overnight. Four days later my doctor hasn't received anything and I call the MRI department to be told "we told you we were sending via regular mail." I'm so annoyed I'm crying, Texas Neurology doesn't care about your health but will gladly take your insurance money!! Currently driving to Texas Neurology to pick up the next cd. Shitty experience today and every other time I'm dealing with these people. They NEVER answer their phone. They don't take initiative because they clearly lack common sense. Nothing gets done here but best believe that they will put you, your care, and your concerns at the bottom of someone else's list. I expect nothing from Texas Neurology. Getting through the message system is 7 circles of hell. As for leaving a voicemail message- forget it. I called more than 48 hours ago to leave a message regarding transfering the records of a neurology test they administered in April, and no one is bothering to return my call. Without those records, I can't make an appointment with a surgeon. I had a similar dreadful experience trying to book my April appointment. It only finally happened when my referring physician called the doctor on his cell phone while he was on vacation in Europe. That's the ONLY reason I actually got an appointment. I fail to understand why the office staff is so awful. Please go somewhere else!! read more

They are also really good at encouraging me to speak up for myself. They helped me understand how my brain and body work in easy terms. They are thoughtful, thorough and compassionate every step of the way. I always get prompt responses and they are always kind and respectful. If anyone has a need for an outstanding Neurologist, I've worked with almost the whole team at this point and every one of them performs at that level. They can tell from my eyes if light is bothering me and dim the lights for me without me saying a word. If I am disoriented they have someone guiding me from entry to exit like a pro football team passing a ball, each one of them as kind and encouraging as the next. They consistently give the exact kind of care that I need without me even asking. I could not ask for a better team to work with as I heal. read more

My sister made an appointment for 2pm and the doctor El-Key skipped her several times and it wasn't until many complaints and telling the nurses why is taking so much wait time that the Dr finally was available at 3:30pm. Nurses said he was running behind, but we saw 2 or 3 people that came after us leaving the building first. Lack of organization. We stayed because she really wanted to be checked but I don't think is fair to wait that long with a previous appointment scheduled many weeks in advance. read more

When I first started having Neurological symptoms, I was referred to Texas Neurology, back in 2015. Dr. Waheed El-Feky was my treating neurologist. In all my years of navigating a broken health care system, this is the worst Dr. i ever encountered. He actually diagnosed me with Small Fiber Neuropathy, and told me "it was no big deal." He also said and I quote, "I'm sorry I can't diagnose you with cancer because I know how dramatic you are." Everything you read about the poor service in this office are true. No follow up, no return calls...nothing. Dr El-Feky in truth, should not be practicing medicine. He has no bedside manner and is heartless. When I finally fired him shortly thereafter, he said..."If you don't like my diagnosis, go to the Mayo Clinic. I wrote a letter to the head of Texas Neurology, but it went nowhere. read more

1. All records need to be transferred if you have ever been treated for migraines, numbness, tingling, etc. 2. The initial person making the appointment told me to email them or have other facilities email them to EFLORES@TexasNeurology.com. No one monitors this email. The correct email is PatientServices@TexasNeurology.com. This took several calls prior to the appointment to determine. 3. Once at the appointment, the doctor was EXTREMELY unfamiliar with my history. 4. To substantiate, he wanted to order an MRI, which already had been done. 5. To further substantiate, he suggested nerve conduction tests, AGAIN, already done. 5. He suggested a PCP. Thè PCP had referred me to a neurologist. 6. He said the records did not make it there, give them a month, and we will have another appointment. 7. I called three times during the month to see if they had everything--they had nothing new. 8. I spoke with AMIR, the ops mgr, would actually asked me to do the neurology office's job. I said, "you want me to have them fax to a number AT YOUR FACILITY? And how would I verify that fax is on or has been received?" He replied, "I've done this with SEVERAL patients before. The other doctor's offices listen to patients but won't listen to us." That is a problem that Texas Neurology needs to solve, right? Nonetheless, I immediately contacted the other office, leaving his name and Texas Neurology's contact info. Amir was still uncooperative. It was awful. NEVER EVER GO THERE...unless you are up to being pushed to the point of TEARS. Remember--you are the patient. Never let yourself work for free or undue stress. read more

I am incredibly unhappy with my experience with Texas Neurology. I was referred to this practice by my Rheumatologist and frankly, had he not insisted I see a specific doctor in this practice I would have never gone after seeing the poor reviews. My experience mirrors all of the other 1-star reviews posted here. Despite having a "fine" experience with my actual doctors and nurses (which as someone which chronic neurological problems is basically all you can ask for), I had the worst experience I have ever had with an office administrative staff. First, it was next to impossible to get in contact with someone for an appointment and it was somehow even harder to book follow-ups, even while in the office. I used this practice while attending University in Dallas and almost always had to skip class because the office refused to help me make a booking around my academic schedule. The crux of my complaint, however, is with their billing department. At my first appointment, I paid a significant co-pay as well as additional sums for tests and medications. I expected this from a private, specialty practice. What I didn't expect was receiving a bill in the mail some weeks later stating that I owed them even more money! I couldn't figure out what exactly I owed them for, but I went ahead and paid the bill. This same scenario played out following my additional appointments. While at my final appointment before graduating and moving away from Dallas, I went to the billing department and asked that they charge me for everything I owed them and informed them of my change of address (to my family home out of state). The office assured me that the bill I paid that day was the full balance owed and that I was fully paid. Following this appointment, I never received any communication from Texas Neurology at my new address or via phone or email. So, imagine my surprise when (over a year later) I get a call from a DEBT COLLECTION AGENCY informing me that I have an outstanding balance with, you guessed it, Texas Neurology. I told this agent that I was told by the office that my balance was fully paid at my final appointment. She shared that letters had been sent to my address and when I asked which address, she read off my former address in Dallas. I have a relationship with both my former landlord and the new occupants of the apartment so I reached out following this call and none of them ever received a letter from Texas Neurology. Ultimately, I ended up just paying the balance with the debt collector because at this point I am so done with this practice. I even attempted to call the practice to further check that I am fully paid and to sever our relationship and of course I was sent straight to voicemail when I pressed the extension for the billing appointment, as I have been every single time I've called the billing department in the past. Now I can't say for sure whether this double charging is malicious or simply gross disorganization but either way this is an absolutely unacceptable way to run any business, let alone a high-end specialty health care practice. If you're even slightly considering using Texas Neurology as your provider, I advise you to run far, far away. read more

I was referred to Dr Jenevein three years ago by my PCP. Since then I've only ever seen the man at 2 appointments over the course of three years. Most of the time I was passed off to the nurse practitioner (first Suzanne then Diana) who while great personally also changed my RX a million times and I felt could never directly answer my follow up questions with confidence. Dr. Jenevein was a truly a figure head in this office and I got tired of the constant RX changes and what felt like inadequate care so I found a new neurologist. I would not recommend Texas Neurology as a practice to use in Dallas. read more

I was refered by my Primary Care Doctor to Dr. Herzog. On my first visit he seemed rushed and was typing notes. I didn't feel like he was really paying attention to what I was saying. He ordered an MRI and prescribed medication to treat my migranes, one being a once a month injectible. My MRI was scheduled for Saturday, June 19th at 12:10. The office called the day before and said I needed to be there by 11:30. I arrived on time, checked in and completed the same paperwork I had completed at my initial visit. I waited over an hour past my scheduled appointment time. They apologized saying they were short handed. This month (July) I called their pharmacy to get my injectible medication sent to my pharmacy since their hours are not convenient for anyone who works a normal day job. The pharmacy had my information wrong, they're not reliable for following up or letting you know what's going on. They try to blame someone else for all the issues. I've called their pharmacy numerous times and had to explain everything over and over. Each time they always say "we're waiting to hear from insurance". I called my insurance they told me specifically what the pharmacy/Doctor needed to do. I called them and gave them the instructions and they dropped the ball yet again. I called my insurance again this morning and they called the Doctors and left a message stating who the office needed to contact and what to ask for so that I could get the medicine I've been waiting on since the 15th, today is the 21st..... Needless to say I would NOT recommend this office to anyone. read more

After spending over $14k to treat my Dystonia disorder with Botox treatments I see no improvement. Dr. Heitzman doesn't communicate with the patient and I am the one that has to ask all the questions. He sits and types and doesn't say a word. The billing group is just as bad! First: Getting Botox, she doesn't even hit the places that need to be injected, especially for headaches even when brought to her attention because "she's been doing this for years." Secondly: I've had to reschedule with this lady multiple times, I love 2 hours away so when I finally got there, I wasn't late, exactly on time and I was told by the receptionist that she left without even letting me know. Super inconsiderate and very unprofessional. After I had called the office, to see if anybody else could to my treatment, they put me on hold for god knows how long and transferred me to 3 different receptionists having me explain everything all over again just to be hung up on. My son is the patient and requires 4 tests for possible surgery. They sent orders to facilities out of his network not checking prior. I had to get this information. The orders they sent that were wrong were not corrected so appointments were made and now cancelled. I have never been involved with a doctors office that do not check or have a clue as to patients coverage who is actually in network or not prior to sending orders and wasting everyone's time in scheduling and me trying to get all of this corrected and tests rescheduled for in network hospital. Find a better neurologist. There are many in Dallas and make sure they have insurance verification and compliance department. read more

Unfortunately, the good service of Dr. El-Feky stopped after my first appointment. After having a bad reaction to a medication he placed me on (too high of a dosage), it took over 28 hours to get in touch with him. When I finally got in touch, he yelled over the phone that it wasn't his problem and said he would give me a list of other neurologists if I don't like the service he provides. I've never been treated by a doctor like this and I won't be returning. read more

This office management team is lacking courtesy and professional and no customer service. By that I mean that I never get a return phone call and my records can't b found in your office even though the scanning people r telling me that my brain scan was sent to the doctor twice. First visit on May 1st I was supposed to get brain scan on May 4th but doctor's office did not get the authorization to do so. Was supposed to see doctor el-fecky for results of scan on May 11th and no authorization still so had appointment cancelled. On May 17th I was told by Baylor Scott white that I could obtain authorization myself. I called the insurance company and received the authorization number. On May 18th I had the MRI scan. On June 8th I had an appointment with el-fecky to discuss results and no one in the office could find the scan that had been emailed by scan company, therefore it was a wasted appointment. The next appointment was set for July 12th. That appointment had to b cancelled because again the office could not find the scan. Asked the office to call me for an appointment once they find the scan. As of today being June 28th, I have not heard from them even though I have left messages. Dr. Herzog and Barrett are amazing! When I first started going to Texas Neurology for my migraines, I was having migraines every 1-3 days. If you know anything about migraines, you know that they prevent you from doing anything just about other than breathing. I've been receiving Botox injections for approximately 3 months from Texas Neurology for my migraines. I've gone from having 15-30 migraines per month down to 10 or less in such a short amount of time. I won't lie, the injections can be extremely painful, but the injection pain goes away within a few minutes. Sometimes I do get a migraine the same day as the injections, but I've definitely noticed the number of migraines going down each month. I'm so thankful to them for helping me to get my life back. read more

I have been a patient of Dr. Herzog and NP Barrett Horton for about four years - for chronic migraines. In response to my recent complaint about a breach of health safety protocols by a medical assistant who did not cover her nose during my exam because it was "uncomfortable" - and despite my pre-visit inquiries and the clinic's assurances that COVID-19 safety protocols were strictly enforced - Dr. Herzog, without apology or appreciation for my bringing the issue to light, deactivated my patient portal and terminated our relationship because our "therapeutic relationship has been damaged and your trust has been lost." What a surprising and odd way to address a patient's concern! I requested the assistant be tested for COVID-19 but have not received written assurance that this was done and that her results were negative. I anxiously await this documentation so I can be certain my health was not compromised by their lapse in protocols. I have notified the TX Medical Board. read more

So the office manager called me when I left her a message about how rude the staff was to me and was very apologetic. She refunded my copay, since I left, and said she would have conversation with the medical assistant and front office. I did decide to go back for one last visit to be released. When I got there, the front office staff was all new, AND so was the medical assistant. ‍ Also, the NP was very friendly and accommodating. I have been a patient of Dr. Waleed El-Feky's for several years and have referred numerous patients to him. I have yet to hear anything negative about Dr. El-Feky everyone that I have referred to him raves about him they all wanna know why I waited so long to tell them about him. Well he's (MY DOCTOR THATS WHY) no seriously he's a neurologist and not everyone needs to see a neurologist. I gave them 5 stars mainly because of Dr.El-Feky but the PA's , NP's and let's not forget the office staff are always very nice, helpful and friendly to me. I did get so BAD NEWS about 6 months ago or so when Dr. El-Feky introduced me to a lovely med student, (who's name I don't recall.) He told me that she was learning everything he could teach her so that he could Retire!! I told him he could RETIRE when I did!! Meaning when I died, I personally will NEVER go to another Neurologist! He has been more then just a Dr to me he always ask me how my family is doing. He's got a great sense of humour he's very kind, caring and always has a smile on his face. Oh one other thing! I personally think it's a HUGE DEAL when one if not more of your peer' s say your BRILLIANT! I have been told that by two of my other doctors about Dr. El-Feky that is AWESOME. So give Dr.Waleed El-Feky a try you'll be in the BEST hands and in a GREAT mind. read more

She was patient, professional and very thorough. She had helped me get some "quality" back into my life. The facilities is nice and quite large.
