KP was an awesome sales associate; he was hands-on through the entire process, and the customer service was above and beyond what I've seen anywhere else. When it's time to upgrade, there's only one place I'm going - NXTLVL!

DO NOT BRING YOUR BOAT TO THIS ESTABLISHMENT. July 17th I…read morebrought my boat to get Marine Mat after one of the guys at Bass Pro recommended them, Jason asked me to bring my boat in to get measured, I had to call at 4pm to ask if it was done and should have cancelled with them that day. Jason and Zane brushed me off several times after promises were made, the only answer I ever got from them was that Marine Mat was very busy and never got a real answer. I'll skip the long story to where I called Marine Mat directly for the 4th time, and they had no idea my boat was originally measured July 17th. Matt calls me Wednesday Oct 18th to let me know my boat us done but wait until Thursday to pick up to let glue set in sun. I didn't look at as close as I should have but thats fine Marine Mat will correct the issues themselves. I wouldn't let these guys put air in a tire. Jason supposedly measured it on July 17th, then Matt ordered two test kits and the lines are horrible, I can't imagine what the guy cutting it thought. Apparently Im not the only one, so a few others are already dissatisfied or will be. Sad, just sad.

The Brock Dock team botched a routine boat lift installation, and refused to take accountability…read morefor the damage its failure (on the first use) caused. They also have ignored requests to implement a manufacturer's recall that would fix a recurring issue causing the lift to freeze in the down position. They even had the audacity to take one of our hydraulic lift boxes we paid for and put it on another dock to help someone out. BUYER BEWARE!!!!

Bats bats bats... Austin is crazy for bats!…read more It was a school event for my youngest that brought us here. Evidently there is a huge colony of bats under the bridge that you can watch from here too. Pull up in the parking lot...there is a lot of room, grab your chairs (blankets as well for when we went, it was cold!), and pick you spot facing the bridge. There are people here handing out info on the bats as well. They can tell you everything you ever wanted to know about the bats. I was shocked at how many people where here! It was quite the crowd considering it was a very cold night. There was even a bus load of students that came in. Then right at dusk out they came... first a couple then a few more were milling around and then the whole colony of thousands flew out. It isn't tike watching from the water at the congress street bridge but it was still cool. It was a great spot for my sons kindergarten class to see the bats for sure!

My husband and I went into South Austin Marine on Saturday, July 11th determined to find a boat. We…read moremet Michael Pempsell, who showed us all of their boats. We found a 2015 Byrant Spreranza that we loved. We started the buying process that day. On Monday, July 13th, I met with Michael to finalize buyer's agreement and give him our $500 deposit. Michael said he would contact me later that day with a time to do a test drive and familiarize us with the boat. I reached out on Tuesday, July 14th, as I had not yet heard from Michael. He responded saying "We had a mix up on deposits on this particular boat, I'm in the process of getting to the bottom of it and was going to relay back to you after." We never heard from Michael again. On August 1st, I reached out to the CFO, Wayne Black, to tell him about our experience and to help mend the relationship before I left a 1-star review. It has been over 48 hours with zero response. While our initial experience with South Austin Marine started off well, it has ended most poorly. To have a boat (I put a deposit on) be sold out from under me, is one thing. But to have the company provide zero communication, essentially stonewalling me, is appalling and infuriating. While I will not be doing any business with them, hopefully this will allow the staff at South Austin Marine to learn a valuable lesson - communication, even when delivering bad news, is important. The total silence reveals a lack of integrity that I will never support.

Finally had to call sales to actually get somewhat service. I have a Bennington, which is under warranty, but since they didn't make the money on the sale, they won't service it. They said they would before the Christmas break. Were they literally close their shop for two weeks. My boat died on the lake and using a JetSki I was able to get it to my doc. I spoke with them and they were going to try and get someone to work on it in the two days they had before they took off but then just couldn't get to it and we're going to come out at the first of the year. So I waited, and now they told me they won't help. That's a crazy attitude because with the other people who moved to Austin, it's quite easy that someone may come here with a boat from somewhere else and the fact that they won't service it because they say service it although they are the licensed dealer here and after they had told me they would it disgraceful

One time I jumped in the water at Lady Bird Lake, and I got morbidly ill for days and could not get out of bed. I would highly not recommend getting in the water there. That being said, Lake Georgetown is quite different and it would seem that the water is pretty clean there. It probably goes without saying it is much less crowded than Lake Austin/Travis or anything near downtown, and it has plenty of space for picnicking, camping, fishing, and other outdoor activities. Usually I will go running around Lake Georgetown because it is much less crowded than Lake Austin, and there are shorter routes depending how far you want to run. I guess the one thing I will say is that the trails to "hike" or walk around the lake are not as established as some other hiking trails I've been on, so just be prepared for that and maybe don't wear short shorts if you're going to try any hikes around the lake.
