Their prices are very reasonable, and the overall experience has been great. I've had my hair done by Kimberly and Ms. Ollie, and both are excellent stylists who are very professional. Ms. Ollie is now my regular stylist, and I can't say enough good things about her. She has a wonderful personality, is highly skilled at her craft, and truly respects my time. Price- the prices here are very fair and you can expect 18 dollars for a kid's cut and 37 a woman. Atmosphere- the atmosphere here is rundown. You can definitely tell, for example, in the bathroom where the soap goes the entire area is worn away down to the particle wood. Google Reviews - I removed a star here because I really dislike businesses that pay for reviews. This business specifically will allow you to spin a wheel if you give them a five star review and show it to them. This definitely does not feel ethical and at a minimum, it definitely doesn't make me feel great. In summary, however, despite the fact that it's run down and they pay for reviews. Went there for a haircut today, March 19th 2025. Worst haircut I have ever had. She had no clue how to use clippers with a guard or anything. She even asked for help and still couldn't figure it out. I come here JUST for Miss Ollie Reece. She's does the hair for African Americans, like myself and son. Neither of us were used to the beauty salon experience and didn't know what to expect. Tell y'all this, we AIN'T going back to the barber shop NO time soon! Ok, number one, the feeling of a thorough head shampoo before your cut is truly underappreciated. As a guy, I've probably never washed my head that well, this consistently. Number two, I really, really like how she makes eye contact and repeats your description of how you want your haircut. Nobody likes when the barber kinda cuts you off with that, "yea, yea, yea, yea. I know. I know." Number three is that $15 tag. Whew! Four? Miss Ollie walks you to the door after your cut and gives you a hug. Extremely poor customer service. My daughter and I left feeling like we were bothering them or an inconvenience to them. No one wanted to cut her hair Bc it was "too difficult " even tho it was a simple layered haircut. We had a 10am appt and didn't get in the chair until almost 11. I know there is always going to be a wait time, but the lady didn't want to cut my daughters hair so we had to wait another 45 minutes for someone that was "willing to." Like I said, simple layered haircut. No color or anything else. Didn't even style it. She left with wet hair and a bit of product in her hair. I understand they are learning but when/ if they go solo or work somewhere else, they are going to have to step up their game big time to make it. read more

First of all, let me mention that I am a multiracial woman, Portuguese, French and black. My hair is thick, naturally curly, and a pain in the butt if you don't know what you are doing. Every place I have gone has messed up my hair either by cutting it all off, or washing it and not not knowing what to do next and saying, "Your hair doesn't do that," which is not true. Because I was sick and tired of this happening, I called before I walked in and spoke with someone about what types of hair people could do here. Because let's keep it real, everybody does not know how to do "ethnic" hair...it is simply not the same as "every other hair." I quote because these are the things I have heard and know to be true. I read reviews about this place and two names were mentioned, Amanda and Jessica. It just so happened that I was speaking to Amanda over the phone and she had an opening. I asked her if she felt comfortable doing my hair, told her I knew exactly how I wanted my hair done and she said she could do it. I was nervous, but excited. When my son and I arrived she was ready and the most important thing is that she listened to me when I explained what I wanted done and she NAILED IT!!! I love asymmetric cuts! She took her time, she asked me if she had questions about how I wanted the cut in certain spots, she made it all blend well together and I knew I had a winner before she was even done. **Sidenote** I went in there with my hair washed and flat ironed so that I didn't have to worry about her handling my curls. My hair is naturally curly. **End Sidenote** Amanda did such an amazing job on my hair! I was very impressed and now have a hairdresser...after 2 1/2 years of searching!!! She even did my 2 year olds hair and it looks amazing as well. She was very patient and they even have a drawer full of toys for the kids to play with while parents are getting their hair cut. I posted this not only to acknowledge how amazingly skillful Amanda is at what she does, but also so that other women who have hair like mine have a place they know they can go in Conroe and not and hour away....like Houston. I have gone to Texas Hair Team several times, and they are really hit or miss. They have two AMAZING stylists (Tiffanee and Anna) and that is it. My cousin and I went in today for me to get my hair cut and so she could get her hair dyed. Amanda was the stylist who helped us and she was horrible. She left the color on my cousins hair so long that when she washed out the color her hair was purple (it was supposed to be brown with reddish tones). I had a picture of a dramatic bob, similar to what I already had, but with bangs added. She cut the back of my hair awesome, it is the front and the bangs that are completely messed up. My bangs are supposed to wispy, but instead they are completely uneven, and too short to do anything with. I will never go back there. read more

Went to to see if I could get my hair cut. It's already short and I just wanted it shaped back up to the same style. When a stylist came and asked how we were I said fine, I asked how she was, trying to be polite, and she very loudly says, EXHAUSTED! Ok, she asked what I wanted and I tell her, she yells to another stylist who is working on a customer how long she will be. That stylist says I have a customer on the chair and one waiting. No problem, the one who called to her says it will be an hour and a half. I ask if she can do it and she very rudely says no. Having been a cosmetologist myself before shoulder replacement, I had enough. I refuse to be treated as if I'm bothering the stylist. There is no consideration for people's time. It took 3 hours after my appointment for me to make it into Ollie's chair. There was no apology just excuses of time. I was questioned about if I had somewhere to be as if that means I shouldn't have a problem waiting all day. My boyfriend called ahead to make an appointment and spoke to Kelly, he asked her to make his appointment with someone who can do a hard fade and trim the top. She tells him she can take care of him. We get there and he sits down and shows her a reference photo of said "hard fade" and she proceeds to tell him "oh no honey I can't do that, I'm not a barber." He settles for a trim and while she is using the clippers on the sides of his head the long hair on the top she pinned up falls onto her clippers and buzzes a big chunk out of the top. She doesn't mention it to him and then suggests that he cuts the top shorter than he wanted to match her mistake. DO NOT SIT WITH KELLY! She was very nice, but that doesn't make her good at cutting hair. read more

I went in for a trim and overall color and I end up with damaged fried hair. She bleached my roots, had me stay with the product in my hair for 45 minutes while she cut someone else's hair. After that she adds 4 different toners, had me stay at the sink for over an hour because she messed up. She dries it and says nothing about the texture of my hair. I pay, step out and I run my hand thru my hair, AND I realized that it is impossible to run my fingers thru. I start touching it and it feels so dry, it feels like a hay stack!!! I walk back in and I ask her why my hair feels so damaged? Has no backbone to tell me the truth, instead she offers to dry it a little more. NO! SHE BURNED MY HAIR WITH ALL THAT EXTRA PRODUCT! The manager steps in, and she claims that I came in with my hair like that! WHAT??? Even if I did, than why your employee, a professional hairstylist would put bleach in my hair??? Oh and I forgot to mention that I was in there from 9:30 AM to 1:00 PM!!! Waisted my day and my hair! Ok, so this manager that has 0 ethic and professionalism refuses to refund my money. She claims that it takes 7-10 days for my complaint to be approved...and she suggested "as a helpful advice" that if I do anything to my hair meanwhile, like cut it of use treatments I might not get my money back!!! WTF? At this point I am loosing it! She even has the balls to say that me claiming that my hair is damaged is just an option! Oh and to top it off she calls the cops on me and tells them that I refuse to leave the building and I am screaming! The "stylist" I use the term loosely kept asking me how to cut my hair?? I told her to follow the cut already there, it had grown out over 6 weeks--I told her to trim and clean it up. They don't know how to cut hair at TEXAS HAIR TEAM. She spent the entire time cutting less than a 1 tablespoon of hair off my hair. Lauren was not available when I was so a hairdresser that did speak English as her first language cut mine and she did well would have preferred Lauren but it still was a nice cut. Where do I begin? I wanted to look for a place for my 13 year old to cut and highlight her hair! Now mind you, her hair was already extremely short and she wanted a trim and shaped into the V line cut. Okay great! So I was explaining to one of the ladies what exactly she wanted and she just seemed so clueless to what I was asking for. I said she wanted a bayalage look with a V line cut! Simple right? Ya not for her apparently! She didn't seem to know what a bayalage style was! So I told her never mind we will wait, and my daughter was very persistent (like her mom) and wanting highlights so I told her just to go ahead and highlight it. If she messes up on it, I will have my hair stylist fix it when she is available! Whatever! Then the lady tells me oh well I have a client waiting for me, so she's gonna have to get colored by someone else! Wait, what? We were suppose to get a cut and highlights and now she was telling me she has another client!!! Bad business lady! So my daughter got stuck with a non speaking English lady and I had to explain all over again what my daughter wanted!!! Annoyed at this point!!! I mean if you walk into this place it looks like everyone graduated from the hard knock life from the third ward school or something! So not only did this other lady not speak English BUT she was extremely slow at highlighting my daughters hair. We were there over 3 hours all together!!! So all was done and she took out the foil, mind you I didn't want her to have blonde highlights but more of a brown chestnut color. Her hair was freakin BLONDE! I was livid at this point, and told the lady they need to tone it down extremely!! When all was done and somewhat corrected, (still wasn't happy with how the cut and color came out!) They had the audacity to charge $160 for the trim and highlights! Not even my hair stylist whom is very popular and very knowledgeable, charges me that much and my hair is long! I am sorry but this is by far the worst hair cutting place I have ever been to in my life. I would go as far as saying Super cuts does a better job! I went to Texas Hair Team because my usual stylist went on maturnity leave and I was in desperate need of a perm so I scheduled an appointment with Alay (the lady who does black hair) because she did a great job with my moms hair. Although my hair came out the same my normal stylist would do in the end, the service was grouling. She let me wait in the lobby for 20 minutes while she did nothing then left me with my neck in the sink for another 15 minutes and under the dryer for 45 mins while my hair was already dry while she worked on someone elses hair. She then keep joking and saying I looked like a little kid and I got offended. I told her my normal stylist charged $55 for a perm and did it in less than 45mins but Alay charged me $70 for 3 and a half hours of nothing. My "tip" was the $15 unnessecary upcharge. You would think having 23 years of experience should teach you not to be overbooked or maybe work faster if you are. read more
