My hair did not hold a curl, black bobby pins on blonde hair stood out in photos, my bronzer looked extremely severe, and I compromised my desired eye look to fit the artists skills. Photos attached: please read captions for details. I did have a somewhat confusing experience with Adrienn herself when it came to organizing my hair and makeup trial. I scheduled it for the day I had bridal portraits. She gave me the address of the salon in Lakeway and sent a calendar invite. Then about a week before the appointment, I got a message from Adrienn that the appointment would not be in Lakeway as I was told but that the artists would come to me. I clarified this and she stated that the company is a mobile team and they always travel to their clients. I'm not sure how this could have gotten messed up considering I was communicating with the owner. For the services themselves, I also have mixed feelings. For hair I was assigned Kourtney. She was so sweet and easy to talk to, and she understood what I wanted. I wanted my hair wavy with one braid on the side that would stop at the back of my head for support with the veil. My hair has no texture and the veil would need something to grip to. She was able to braid my hair into my scalp at the back, hidden underneath loose hair, which served my intentions without compromising appearance. The waves looked great when she left. Unfortunately they didn't stay that way. My hair was barely wavy after a few hours. I know she is not a miracle worker, but I did explain that my hair holds shape better when it is "kinked" rather than "curled" and explained how I do it. I couldn't see how she did my hair so I'm not sure of her methods. All I can say is I did try to prepare her for how my hair works best. On the wedding day, she pinned my hair in curls 2 hours before she finished the styling to help them to last, but I ended up bringing my curling wand and used it after the ceremony because the same thing happened as with the bridal portraits. I'm glad I was prepared but unfortunately I'm trying not to hate how I looked in the pictures. I really did love the braid and how my veil was supported with it, I just don't know how the curls could be so bad. Another thing I didn't realize until the end of the day is that she used black bobby pins in my blonde hair. Once I got the photos, I realized they were completely visible the entire time. They are in every photo of my left side. I'm going in and editing them out where I can, but there's nothing I can do about the videos. For makeup, I was assigned Michal. She was very easy to talk to and when I explained things about how I want things to look it felt like she understood me. I had a photo of a dramatic eye look with dark brown shadow, but Michal was not able to achieve anything close to the picture. I do understand makeup and asked for a look I know I would like and can do myself. The darkest shades she was choosing were still several shades too light. She also did a shimmer look when I had a completely matte inspo look. I had her fix it as much as I could communicate, but after having her make several adjustments to the eye shadow, I gave up and ended up fixing it myself after she left. I wasn't able to get it the way I wanted it to look without removing makeup and I didn't have time for that, but I got it to look better than the very flat and dull appearance it was before. (Please see photos/captions.) She applied mascara after lashes and they were horribly clumpy. I also didn't like the lip shape even after I asked her to adjust it. On the wedding day, I changed my request to fit what I felt she could do. The eye look was a lot better, even though it wasn't what I had envisioned it was at least a good look. I ended up doing my own lashes and lipstick. However now that I have the photos, I am absolutely horrified by the contour on my cheeks. It is so dark and looks like an orange stripe on my face. I am honestly so embarrassed that it looked like that all day. I couldn't tell how bad it was from looking in the mirror, but all of the images of my side profile reveal a very questionable choice in bronzer color. We even talked about how I am very fair and I only use very cool toned contour. I ended up editing the best pictures and softening up the color on my cheeks because I actually hate it. It didn't look like this in the bridal portraits. I don't know what changed! I can say at least that my makeup lasted all night and did not get oily or smudge, so Michal was able to do something for me that I haven't been able to do myself and show me that my oily face is something I can control. I'm just so conflicted. The artists were both so sweet and nice and seemed so competent from discussion with them, but the result disappointed me.

Thankfully everything worked out! Jaime and her assistant traveled to my Fredericksburg wedding and did a stellar job on 7 hair and 5 make-up services. I have very fine and difficult to work with hair, so I can't tell you how over the moon I was when she got it into the old Hollywood vintage look I wanted- curls and all! Now I am in town for an event at 6pm today and no make. There was no Offer to meet us at the hotel or event or anything. Just oops my days got mixed up I'll refund the deposits. We paid more than that and for the inconvenience of cancelling 11min before the appointment. The full amount should be refunded. We can't get another MUA in less than 5hours before the event starts. Never again!!

She started on a bridesmaid's hair first, then moved onto me (the other bridesmaid did not get her hair done). We looked great. One of the challenges with me is that I was a laid back bride and was not able to give a real concrete description of what I wanted. I had some general ideas of what I liked; something natural (no extensions), and something vintage (think Ingrid Bergman from the 40s) was really all the direction I gave her. Other challenges include having fine, curly hair that barely meets my shoulders. We had no trial run due to my busy schedule. And what she came up with on the spot was perfect. I couldn't be happier. (FYI - I did my own make up later on that day. if I can figure out how to post pictures, I will.)

I chose Tracy over other makeup artists I had interviewed because she was open minded, creative and takes your concerns very seriously. She also works very well under pressure. My skin tone is yellowish since I am Chinese and I had always dreaded the brown eye makeup because the red makes me look like I have my eye punched. For my wedding, I wanted something colorful or very flattering of course. I love purple, gray, dark moss eye shadows and Tracy suggested purple to match my flowers. The other makeup artist simple refused to entertain the idea of non-brown eye shadow! I also wanted a ponytail like hair do instead of a big bun on top of my head. Tracy didn't even bat an eye lash and went at it during my trail session. My hair is very fine and straight. She curled with hot rollers and did her magic with some spray and made my borning straight hair into a modern pony tail with body and some delightful curls. The makeup and hair lasted all day and I called the next day to formally book her. On the wedding day, we were running a little bit behind because of various reasons that were not out of ordinary. My wedding planner (whom I will never recommend to anyone) was very rude to her. Asking her to hurry up. We were really not that late. I was not sure what the big deal was. Tracy ignored the rudeness and kept on going. She did my mom's makeup and hair first. It was a wonderful transformation. My mom is not used to hair or makeup at all. She is always very bare minimal. The hiccup was my mom's hair. It is chin length and permed. Instead of doing the total MOM hair do of making the perm more puffy. Tracy made it into an elegant updo!!!!! I LOVED IT. Mom was skeptical until all of her friends told her how good it looked. My mom's makeup was also understated but highlighted her features: eyes and cheekbones. My mom looked years younger! Tracy did my hair and makeup just like the trail run. She put on my veil and stayed throughtout the photo session before the ceremony to touch up my makeup. (there was a huge drama with a storm that the planner was not prepared for and Tracy sat there with me as a friend to calm me down!) I never had this many compliments. I guess people are supposed to compliment you on your wedding day. But I think they meant it. My makeup and hair lasted from 3pm to 3am! I have after party pictures to prove it! You really cannot get any better than Tracy who would come to you, do both hair and makeup, put up with your mom, wedding planner, and be a friend while touching up your makeup.
