Terrible customer service. Firstly, you will never talk to an actual person. They only send vague emails with no contact name or number. Sometimes emails go a week without being answered (although they are super fast when you are interested in booking!). Secondly, I had to reschedule my wedding because of covid. I gave them almost 4 months notice and they still refused to pay my almost $600 deposit. They could have easily booked another wedding. Their contract is much stricter than other hair & makeup companies so be 100% sure with everything before signing. They'll say it's to protect their artists but it's really to take advantage of people, like me, so they can make extra money. read more

Like most brides-to-be I spent many hours on Pinterest, and looked through many stylist sites to see what kinds of looks I liked and would like to have at my wedding; and based on the many beautiful photos chose Lola Beauty. My trial went awesome, she spent painstaking hours on my hair and makeup and I couldn't have been more happy with the flawless results. We arranged how many members of the bridal party needed to be styled, the time of photos, paid for extra stylists etc. Fast forward to my wedding day, we walk in at the pre-arranged time to find only 2 stylists (half of our supposed team) unpacking and looking stressed. My stylist sat me down and started hurriedly pinning curls to the top of my head while making multiple phone calls calling her boss and trying to track down the people who were supposed to be there; while the stylist next to me was trying to whip as many bridesmaids through as possible (as we had 3 hours to do hair and makeup on 8 people). Not the relaxing morning drinking mimosas I had in mind, and I know half of my bridesmaids ended up sneaking into the bathroom to fix their hair and makeup blunders that should have been done by a professional we paid a lot of money to (i.e. applying smudged black liner under one eye and nothing under the other). By the last hour another team coming from another wedding pulled in; there were people setting up makeup all over the place, it was absolute chaos. I sat there for hours nervously staring at the clock with curls still pinned to the top of my head and was thrown in the chair at the last moment to have my makeup quickly applied. I didn't realize I was supposed to bring the tiny sample lipstick she handed me at the trial, so she didn't apply anything to my lips, and I had to send my friend racing to my house to get it. My curls were quickly brushed out as my photographer was reminding the team that we were well behind schedule. I had to ask to even have my veil placed as they were packing up ready to roll. My friend walked in with the lipstick sample just before the last guy left and he quickly slapped it on and rolled. I was hurried out the door, we did photos. I teared up, which ruined my foundation immediately, and had to be fixed by my sisters (who luckily had supplies there). We had an awesome ceremony, did all of our pictures, socialized for a few moments in the cocktail hour; I finally got a moment to walk inside and looked in the mirror for the first time and almost burst into tears. My hair was terrible! I mean a flat, frizzed out mess with a single teased out bump on the top of my head. I didn't know what to do; it looked so bad! Somebody was eventually able to find me a hair elastic and I spent the rest of my wedding with my hair in a side pony. I paid $400 for a frizzed out side pony! I could have done a better job doing my own hair that day, and it probably would have looked better and been a less stressful experience. We had such a special, awesome day with all of our friends and family, but I spent the entire day after the wedding in tears! As all of the photos started rolling in on Facebook I realized how terrible my hair looked the entire day! I was so upset! My cherished photos from one of the most important days of my life looked horrible! That's just something you can't get back. I understand mistakes happen, and at the end of the day it's not about the hair, but when you pay a lot of money for a service, you should get what you paid for. Nobody ever apologized for the mistake made, no money was reimbursed (for the extra stylist) and at this point I'm really hesitant to print any photos of my wedding day. read more

Ariel and Joseph are a bride's DREAM TEAM. First off, I want to mention that I was literally a nervous wreck on getting professional makeup done since I had never done something like that and I really wanted to look natural on my wedding day. I've seen so many brides over due it and their excuse is "oh it looks natural in pictures". Well ya. It may. But in my opinion...you are traumatizing your guests who get to see you in person with your face all caked up. So I swore I wouldn't do too much, and Joseph nailed the effortless look! God bless that guy. I was seriously annoying. I constantly was critiquing myself and telling him pointers on what I like and don't like. And he listened to it ALL and made any adjustments I wanted. He is a saint of a man for dealing with me. I looked my very best and I felt so confident thanks to him. I even took pictures outside in the heat and I was shocked that my makeup lasted all day after that without looking sweaty and oily since I already have oily skin. For my hair...well I was so nervous for that too. I was worried about it all really. I just didn't want to scare my soon to be hubby on the day we got married with a ton of face makeup and frizzy tight curls that made me look like a poodle. He would have run for the hills. And some hair dressers just can't curl hair. So I was worried about that with Ariel. But let me tell you...Ariel can do it ALL! Show her whatever picture you have of any braid, and she can do it and make it look effortless. I loved that she gave her opinion on what would look best on my girls and that she never over did anything. She is just so easy to talk to and so sweet! Lauren and her team (two other gals who work with her) came to the Omni Hotel to do bridal makeup and hair for my friend who was getting married, her six bridesmaids, and an assortment of family members and others who wanted to look pretty for the wedding. LoLa doesn't currently have a brick-and-mortar studio as they are a mobile service provider and travel to wedding venues and other locations for special events (though Lauren mentioned they might be adding a studio in the near future for photo shoots). First of all, they couldn't have been nicer. They all three were super cute, personable, professional and a lot of fun to spend four hours with. They did my hair exactly how I wanted---even though I wasn't entirely sure what that was going into them. Ditto to the makeup. I rarely wear makeup so was nervous it would come off looking as I was entering a pageant, but Lauren made me up in a way that was natural while still putting on enough makeup that would last a 14-hour day. I wish I could get her to do my makeup every day--I might start to wear some if that were the case! And the bride's hair! OMG, it was gorgeous. She has hair on the finer side so bought extensions that Lauren and her team put in and then trimmed, and then turned into a work of hair art. My hair and make-up were LITERALLY PERFECTION for my wedding, and I am eternally grateful to Luna at LoLa Beauty for that!!! I was originally booked with Lorena, one of the co-owners of the company, and had had a trial already. She was awesome, but due to her schedule (and I think an alignment of the stars), there was a last minute change and I was placed in the hands of Luna. Let me tell you, Luna has IT. There are some things that can't be taught, especially in the "artistic" vocations, and Luna has that intuition and talent. I brought photos of make up and hair that I liked, and she knew exactly how to tailor it to MY face and hair. I was so worried about my wedding look due to the last minute change and am particular about the way my eyes and eyebrows are done. But Luna listened well to my likes and dislikes and made minor adjustments based off them. She kept on reassuring me not to question or judge individual areas until the final look was put together, and holy crap was she right!! My make-up and hair ended up being EXACTLY what I envisioned; I didn't know it could be achieved and that I could look like that!! My mom was also so impressed (which is not easy, let me tell you). My friends could not stop commenting on how flawless my make-up and hair were, and it lasted aaaaallll day and night (12 hours!), even in the mist. Every women wants to look the most beautiful she's ever been on her wedding day, and that is how I felt. I had never been more excited about posing for photos in my life haha. This review is so overdue it's embarrassing! My wedding was quickly approaching and I still hadn't found a hair and makeup artist. Many companies were non-responsive and I even had one company tell me a party (7 girls) our size wasn't worth their time. Not exactly how I envisioned being pampered on my wedding day. And then I found Lola Beauty. I contacted them a few weeks before my wedding-cutting it too close but they were able to accommodate me and my girls. Lauren & Kendall are amazing! They did my bridal hair & makeup as well as my three bridesmaids, mother, and two aunts. We were all blown away! Lauren & Kendall were on time and had incredible time management. They even had time to re-do the hair of two of my bridesmaids who steamed their dresses in a closet and their hair styles got a little loose from the steam. All of my bridesmaids wear very little makeup in their day-to-day lives and Lauren and Kendall were so great at doing light makeup on them that made them feel comfortable but also was enough to translate into photos. Every girl look stunning and feel that way too! I have only had my hair and makeup done professionally once and I was so impressed with Kendall and Lauren. Lauren brought my vision to life for my bridal hair and even wove fresh flowers in which was stunning! She really listened to what I was hoping to achieve for my makeup and hit it out of the park! My aunts were both on the fence of whether getting their hair and makeup would be worth it for them since they are particular. Both of them were raving about how much they LOVED their hair and makeup and even bought some of the products Lauren and Kendall used on them afterwards. Three wks ago I had the experience of having LoLa Beauty do my hair and makeup for a wedding. When I got to the venue, my hair was a bit damp. I had washed it hrs before and had it in a pony tail, so when I took it out, there were some slightly damp spots. They acted like it was a big deal, didn't even touch it to see how damp it was, and just told me I'd have to wait til it dried. (Between two hair stylists, neither had a hair dryer.) When I suggest they put it on their list of do's and don'ts before showing up, Lauren said rudely, "Oh no, girlfriend- it is on there. Big capital letters, DRY CLEAN hair." It was rude and embarrassing to say the least. I didn't say anything to her because I didn't want to cause drama in front of the bride, but I checked the word document that the whole party had received to see if maybe I had missed it. I hadn't. It says make sure your hair is clean, nothing about being dry. Also, as honest advice for Lauren, who introduced herself and the other hairstylist as business partners and owners of the company- I'm not your girlfriend. I'm your client/customer. I wouldn't have to pay one of my girlfriends 160 to do my hair, so you may want to try to be more professional. I will say the makeup artist whose name I didn't get (neither Lauren or Lorena) was sweet, quick, efficient, and the finished faces were AMAZING. Also, there was one woman in the party who wasn't excited how her hair turned out but didn't know exactly what she wanted differently- and both Lauren and Lorena kind of gave a "Well I don't know what she wants or expects.." kind of response. I thought surely if this is their profession and they seem to stay busy, they are used to being flexible and showing clients other options or working to make them happy with their style. If these two situations had been handled better I would have given a much better review and would be willing to suggest to friends getting married or needing this service to use this company. Hopefully these two business partners can learn to better communicate with their clients. The attitude is just not necessary. Edited to Add: It would have been nice to have a little swab of the lipstick used for touching up throughout the event. read more

LoLa Beauty was everything I dreamed of. Tanya did my hair and makeup for my trial and my wedding day. She is so extremely talented and I was over the moon excited about her work. She was so sweet and professional. She made me feel comfortable and BEAUTIFUL! I showed her pictures of both the hair and makeup look I was going for, and she executed them perfectly. She gave me recommendations and tips. I gave her some artistic freedom since she is the expert, and I was just so happy with the result. My wedding day is the prettiest I have ever felt, which is what I know brides want. People kept telling me- "You look flawless!" Wow! Where do I start. My daughter got married this past weekend, had chosen LoLa beauty for her hair and makeup, as well as for her bridal entourage. Words cannot express the absolutely fantastic job Lorena and Lauren did!!! They were as professional as they were talented (so I cannot understand the few critical reviews!) Everyone that had their hair and makeup done said it was the best ever, and the parents and guests agreed. I hired Lauren to do my wedding hair and make up after a trial run six months before my wedding. She did an amazing job at the trial and was so fun and sweet, I thought she'd be the perfect person to have around on my wedding day. I did a second "trial" with her because I had engagement photos and wanted to look good and was equally pleased with the results. I also hired her to do hair and make up for my six bridesmaids, two mothers, and then I asked guests if they'd like to use her team since many of our guests were in from out of town. After all was said and done, Lauren and two teammates (Daniella and Kaitlin, I think) were at our hotel doing hair and make up from 9am until 4pm, pretty much non-stop, on 14 people total and everyone loved them! They did such a good job tailoring each girl's look to their requests, and the hair was straight out of pinterest, rather than some kind of 80s bridesmaids do (come on, you know you've seen it). One of my best friends booked Lauren and her team for my wedding (3/27/15). I could not have be HAPPIER! I loved the way she made my hair and makeup look! I didn't even want to wash my face or put my hair up by the end of the night.
