I worked with Avery for my wedding in Austin. On Avery suggestion, I did a trial run with my make-up a few weeks before the wedding. I showed her photos of the look I wanted and did my make-up in the same fashion. At the end of the trial we talked about what I liked and didn't. We tweaked the look a couple of times and took some photos in the sun so that I could get an idea of how my make-up would look for my outdoor wedding. On the day of the wedding Avery was a dream to work with. She was on-time to the site where we were getting ready, and was set-up before the first "appointment" time of the day. She brought an assistant with her to help with the bridal party, and her assistant was also top notch. All of us left that day feeling like pampered beauty queens. Varying from full on glamour girl to an "I rarely wear make-up" tom boy, Avery customized each look to the person's desired result. And my day of make-up was EVEN BETTER than my trial run. She was able to put together exactly what I wanted and I have never felt more beautiful. I looked like a brighter version of my daily self without feeling overly made up or like a drag queen. I booked make up and hair appointments for a black tie event tonight (Friday). From the time I booked the appointment, on a Sunday, to my actual booking date on Friday, Priv cancelled my appointments five separate times, the final cancellation two hours prior to my appointment time. Priv sent me a text saying that they had graciously cancelled my appointments due to emergencies (each cancellation was an emergency) and that they would not charge me for these cancellations. I've used Glamsquad many times and have never had these issues, and I cannot understand how a company can stay in business when they treat their customers like this. I will NEVER use this company again and you shouldn't either (you've been warned). Glamsquad, please come to Austin!! Now I'm off to try to cobble together some very inadequate version of what I was hoping to get tonight. DON'T USE PRIV!!

Jen not only achieved the look perfectly, but made it look even better than the photos I showed her. I also brought my own hair piece and needed the bun to be in a way that my long veil would be easily attached/detached. Jen made sure every little detail was completed perfectly. Angela was our makeup artist, and I was a little hesitant at first. The only other time I've ever had my makeup done professionally was when I was 18, for our prom. I didn't like how that went. Needless to say, Angela's work was flawless. She kept my makeup fairly natural, as I don't tend to wear much makeup on a regular basis. During the trial she did two hair styles, neither was 100% what I wanted, but she planned to do things from each of the styles. She did my airbrush make-up, with false lashes, during the trial as well. After doing a trial with Jessica, I had concerns that my hair would not be exactly like I would want it, which was a true vintage style with 2-3 large pin curls and a high/big swooped bang (think vintage hollywood), but after spending $205 on the trial ($100 hair, $105 make-up), I hesitated to book another stylist. The day of my wedding Jessica arrived on time and did hair and make-up for my mom, sister, younger cousin and myself. Everyone's hair and make-up turned out well and Jessica did do touch-ups prior to leaving. My hairstyle turned out very well and I had many compliments on the vintage look. Jessica nailed it! She did however, leave before helping us place my veil into my style. My mom and sister handled it, but we were disappointed she left without helping; she did practice with it during the trial. We have received our wedding photos and video and I was disappointed to see that in photos taken 1 hour after my hair style was completed, the curl/bobbypin was falling out and sticking off my head at a 90 degree angle (we were not running, in the wind, etc.). This may be minor, but when I paid over $200 for a stylist, I'd expect my hair to hold for that time. Thankfully my mom and sister were able to fix it when I arrived to the ceremony site. Several other photos post-ceremony also have hair in the back falling out of the pins, which was very disappointing. The other's hair and make-up held fairly well throughout, but did have a few pins fall out as well. Overall I was happy the day of (which is what mattered), but disappointed after seeing the photos (which is what we have forever).

I dreaded haircuts (as all of us curly heads do) but when I came here, I was put at ease. I hadn't gotten a haircut in over 3 years when I came to see Bobby. He listened to what I wanted and helped me get the style that I have been wanting for so long. He cut my hair dry to see the true definition and coil of my curls. He also washed my hair and it hurt a little because I'm super tender headed. BUT.... when I walked out of there, my curls were looking shinier and healthier than they ever had in my whole life!!! This place isn't cheap but it is worth it. New client hair cut starts at 140 i believe. Don't let that stop you tho, TREAT YO SELFFF

After 5+ calls and numerous texts I found a street and drove to the location to ensure we weren't late since there are no refunds etc. only to get a text at 1:49p that she got her days mixed up and would need to cancel 11min before my 2pm AND 3pm appointment. Now I am in town for an event at 6pm today and no make. There was no Offer to meet us at the hotel or event or anything. Just oops my days got mixed up I'll refund the deposits. We paid more than that and for the inconvenience of cancelling 11min before the appointment. The full amount should be refunded. We can't get another MUA in less than 5hours before the event starts. Never again!!
