No gimmicks, just free checking, no hassles. I also got remote deposit capture for my business and when i was exploring new merchant account, they offered good rates. I primarily bank at the Grand parkway 99 location but also go by the FM 529 location in Northwest Houston. The folks are so friendly and they are willing to listen. I also got to talk to a SBA small business administration loan officer about a business loan. Keep up the good work. PS, i opened a CD, they pay some of the best rates in Houston.

Literally it took over a month to get it processed. The online application system and loan processor takes forever to get back to you. After 4 years with NO overdrafts or any other issues, my mother in law wrote me a check just north of $90k. I deposited in on a Friday and they said there would be a hold. I get it. Thats common for a check that size. On Monday, the check she wrote cleared her credit union. On Wednesday, 5 days after it was deposited, I called to ask if they could release the funds. The lady on the phone said she would submit the request and someone would get to it by Friday. She also said, if they can't release all of the funds, would there be lesser amount that would "help". I said $25,000 would be fine. She then asked what the funds would be used for. Is that really any of her, or the credit unions business? It is NONE OF THEIR BUSINESS what the funds are for. Church donation, Vegas trip, hookers and blow? A violation of privacy on their part! Well, on Friday, I called to see what their "ruling" was. I had to wait 17 minutes to get to a human. I was then put on hold to be transferred to the branch manager because I requested to speak to the manager of my branch. The call was disconnected 10 minutes later while I was on hold. I called back in and waited another 16 minutes to get to a human. They said they would not release ANY of the funds. THE CHECK HAS BEEN CLEARED NOW FOR 8 DAYS!!!! SO.... Here is what you can expect from Texas Bay Credit Union: 1. YOU are just a number. They are like allllllll the national banks in that they will only loan you an umbrella on a sunny day. NO advantage to a credit union and NO quantity of locations. 2. You will be treated like a common criminal and disrespected after years of banking with them and you will have to ask mommy for an allowance and explain what you want to spend YOUR money on. 3. You WILL NEVER get a call back from the actual branch manager. (Still haven't spoken to her. It is now Sunday, 10 days after the check was deposited.) Maybe day ELEVEN will be different. Not holding my breath. Don't misunderstand me, the big banks won't be any nicer to you or provide better service, but at least you have more ATM's to use around the state and the world.

Last year one of her employees cancelled my home owners policy so my home had no insurance for over a month before the BANK informed me that my policy had been cancelled. Then they never processed my flood insurance request so I had no flood insurance even though I live right on a bayou. They apologized and told me they'd do better so I stayed with them. Well, today was the last straw; I had a water pipe break on the weekend. I got the water turned off, and then I called the office because I didn't know what steps to take next because I knew this would be an insurance claim based on the amount of damage. The office recording said, "If this is an emergency, call Debbie at home at...." So I called the number because I didn't know what I needed to do and I wanted her to guide me. No answer on the "emergency contact" number. So I left a message thinking someone will call me back quickly. Nope. They finally called after almost 36 hours. I advised them I'd already taken care of the issue myself. Not exactly helpful to say "call this number in an emergency" and then to never bother answering your emergency calls. This is what I pay an insurance agent for... that THEY handle all this and I don't have to phone insurance companies, and figure out what I'm supposed to do and when. If I wanted to be ignored in an emergency I'd go with eSurance or some cheap online service insurance company that doesn't have agents. An insurance agent is supposed to be MY support during a crisis. Frankly I'm not getting that at all anymore... so I'm going to be taking my business elsewhere. So disappointed.
