It is fairly easy to find friends here because people here are a lot more open. They make the college experience enjoyable, instead of feeling like you are just going to school for an education and that's it. You can find some life-long friends here because everyone doesn't have a high school friend that follow you around--people actually want to find different people who share the same interests as you. The professors here are a lot better than South (I'm not saying South doesn't have good professors) I've taken many classes here that ratemyprofessor.com reviews were greater. The student center is actually revolved around the students and their needs. They have a huge cafeteria that serves fast food and homemade food. The bookstore is Barnes and Noble and Starbucks--usually they have textbooks that South or North campus doesn't have. There's a certain area with lounge chairs, and a huge flat screen tv specifically for relaxing and getting your mind off of your classes. They have a lot more clubs here that fits any interest you may have. The gym is huge and has a mildew smell to it--I don't know maybe because it its an old building or so. They have recreational sports where you can meet new people and revolved around having fun. Also, cardio and weight rooms for exercise This campus has so many resources that South doesn't have. Those who want and are planning to study in this school system, do not do it guys, you will reget, this school has stupid admissions, the quality of teachers is terrible, the students are also very bad. When you come to school, they ask for a tax paperwork sign papers and SSN, before studying they say the Government supports you for your tuition but I still pay 130$, I took 1 hour lesson but i feel the teacher are so bad, The staff is too bad, too bad, They speak a lot Spanish with a lot accents, so I don't study anymore, I feel that my English level is better than the students here, I quit even though I paid for a course. The main reason we spent a lot of time on this campus is because this is where Barbie has done a lot of her long marathon distance type running. They host a lot of runs here on this beautiful wooded campus and it has so much greenery that it's pretty amazing to be honest. Definitely one of the prettiest campuses in the Houston area, and they have a hell of a lot of greenery which is just gorgeous. Better than having blue-ery anyway.

My niece is currently a sophomore at TSU, following in the footsteps of her mother, a proud alumna who earned her master's degree from this institution and has given back through teaching, volunteer work, organizations, and community involvement. My niece has shown that same commitment. She is dedicated not only to excelling academically, but also to becoming an active member of the campus and surrounding community. She has achieved honor roll recognition multiple times and takes her education and involvement at TSU seriously. She applied for a student management position with the men's basketball program. The posting did not state that applicants were required to be male, and she was invited to interview. During that interview, she reports being told that the program does not typically hire women for the position and being questioned about why she did not instead pursue a position with the women's basketball program. Her gender should never have been the focus. Men work in coaching, management, administrative, athletic training, and support roles throughout women's athletics every day. Women should be afforded the same opportunities within men's athletics when they are qualified to do the job. After she reported what occurred, the matter has now become a dispute over what was or was not said. However, there were other students present who may have heard the interaction. Interview them. Review the original posting. Review the hiring criteria and documentation. Determine whether male and female applicants were truly afforded the same opportunity. We also want to acknowledge Cynthia Buckley for listening to my niece, engaging with her concerns, and demonstrating due diligence thus far. Our family genuinely appreciates her assistance. What remains heartbreaking is that a young woman who has worked hard academically, earned repeated honor roll recognition, sought opportunities to contribute to her university, and proudly continued her family's TSU legacy could leave an interview feeling that being a woman made her less welcome. My niece may be young, but she is fully capable of advocating for herself, and she has a family standing firmly behind her. We expect Texas Southern University to conduct a fair and thorough review, speak with witnesses, review the documentation, ensure there is no retaliation, and take appropriate action if her complaint is substantiated. She has left for a similar position at San Jacinto College. The culture of the school remains. I found them to be ageist, and seemingly more discriminatory against those with disabilities under the guise of a "culture of accountability". I was immensely disappointed.
