I was told to take a seat at a table with water spilled on it. It took a while to get a menu, the service felt like someone drew the short straw to get to my table. The food did come quickly once my order was in, but I didn't see the server again until the check came. A tea refill would've been nice. All that's a shame because the chili relleno was really really good.

Okay, I think I found my new favorite spot for breakfast in town. The BF always likes to eat…read morebreakfast out and we hadn't tried this one yet so we tried it today and man, was it good!!! We were both served sizable glasses of tasty orange juice. I tried the #2 breakfast plate - huevos rancheros - which consisted of two fried eggs served over medium (is that the term for runny centers?), topped with a very delicious red salsa (woohoo, watch that salsa; it's got a bite!!!), tasty refried beans and perfectly-cooked shredded hashbrowns. You have a choice of meat (the bacon was crisp and tasty) and choice of flour or corn tortilla. The flour tortilla was good but disappointingly crunchy. BF opted for the chorizo and egg plate (#6) with hash browns, beans and choice of tortilla. He kept saying things like, "Wow, this is the GOOD chorizo; this stuff has TASTE and it's not all greasy." and "They did the beans RIGHT!" and "This bacon is cooked exactly the way I like it." In addition to tasty food and good presentation, the restaurant was cozy and clean, the waitstaff was attentive, there was nice Mexican music playing and the place was full of locals. We'll definitely be back!!!

I really wanted to like this place and we were excited to try it…read more When we arrived there was NO ONE there. The host greeted us without a smile and seated us. The waiter was very over the top friendly and pushy which made us feel like we were dealing with a used car salesman. When we mentioned we were there for Happy Hour the friendliness then turned to dismissive as he told us we would need to sit at the bar for that. We were sitting at a table next to the bar and the bar was all high tops. Again, NO ONE else was there. I asked if there was any low top seating that would count as sitting at the bar due to having a condition that would make it painful to sit on a barstool. He unapologetically stated "No". I was not going to pay more for my food and drink due to geography, so I stood at the bar. As we looked over the menu the bartender, host, and waiter stood at the end of the bar talking and gossiping. It seemed very unprofessional since we were the only ones there and we could hear their entire conversation. The bartender was very friendly. We ordered the bowl of queso and the bartender asked if we wanted it loaded and we told her no. We also ordered the bistec and chicken tacos with no pico de gallo. When the queso came out it was a small cup full of what looked like onions, but probably pico de gallo. We told the bartender we ordered the bowl and did not want the pico. She took it back and then gave us another small bowl and it was topped with meat. She could tell we were not happy and asked if everything was okay, so we explained we had ordered the bowl, not cup and just wanted plain queso, but at this point we told her it was fine. When the tacos arrived the bistec were covered in raw onions. This was not listed on the menu and not something either of us wanted which is why we said no pico. We sent those back as well but told her we did not want them replaced. We split the chicken tacos and were not impressed so we didn't order anything else.

They boast a very large menu with your typical Texmex items. Portions are not only large, they are also quite inexpensive. Flavors are authentic in part due to the use of very fresh veggies not previously canned. The food is noticeably NOT overly salty, something that should be of value to those on restricted diets. Even the chips are not salted! Portions are abundant. Today we were a party of four. My friends were very pleased with their dishes. One of them is a professional cook so I was especially pleased. Our waitress was pretty, warm and vivacious, we could not have asked for more. Lunch for the four of us including two breakfast tacos with refried beans and several salsas and pico de Gallo with excellent corn chips and two luncheon plates with coffee and diet Pepsi came out to under $18.50! You can't grow the food as inexpensively as that! Besides, how would you grow a diet Pepsi? Or any Pepsi for that matter?
