Mi took one bite of my chalupa- lettuce and what tasted like baby food beans. The cheese enchiladas had a lot Of cheese melted on them and very little in them. Tasted like melted cheese in a flour tortilla. My husband had the spicy flounder. It came with 2 nice portions of flounder, cooked very well, however once again, it lacked flavor. I thought since it said spicy at least it would have some seasonings but my husband had to have the tartar sauce and ketchup to eat it. The food was very reasonably priced. Had the taste been there I would have recommended it. Nice little restaurant if you are sensitive to spices this might be the place for you. However as native Texicans, we expect our food to have at least salt and pepper. Wait staff was attentive and professional. We had ordered a baked potato go for our son before we got our food. I'm hoping I can update this post, but not holding my breath.

To make it even more ridiculous, I asked for chips because apparently an $8.99 order of guacamole does not come with tortilla chips and was told it'd be $4.50 if I wanted some. You've got to be joking... Between the dirty environment, the attitude, and the absurd upcharges, this restaurant is a hard never again. Save your money and your appetite bc there are way better places that actually care about their customers and their cleanliness. I'd go across the street to La Playa. Great customer service and food over there.

I am writing to formally express my disappointment regarding my recent visit to Chapitas Restaurant in Harlingen, TX. As someone visiting from out of town and heading to the airport, I stopped in for a quick breakfast at what I assumed would be a reliable local spot. Unfortunately, my experience was anything but. I placed a simple order for three tacos de papas con chorizo at 7:44 AM. Despite the restaurant not being particularly busy, I did not receive my order until 8:20 AM -- a wait time of 36 minutes. This was highly unreasonable given the low customer volume. After waiting patiently for some time, I walked toward the back to check on the status of my order. What I witnessed was disappointing: several employees were either drinking coffee or standing around, seemingly disinterested in helping customers or expediting service. It was clear there were more staff members than patrons at that point, yet the sense of urgency or attentiveness was completely lacking. To make matters worse, the tacos were not even worth the wait. They were underwhelming in taste and quality -- something I would have expected from a quick stop at a gas station, but not from an established restaurant. This kind of experience is unacceptable. I will not be returning to Chapitas and will advise others to consider alternative options when in the area. At the very least, I hope you take this feedback seriously and address the staffing and service concerns so that future customers do not have a similar experience. read more

Went there because my friends said it was good...obvioulsy they dont know what good mexican food is. LOL food was cold. they dont have homemade corn tortillas. flour tortillas were hard and rubbery....never again will I go there. I was going to complain but the hubby said just to let it go and never come back. We never did. read more
