My experience: Came into bar and walk right past "security" no hello, no hi, no acknowledgement, and yes, they did see me.
Went straight up to bar to get a drink. There were about 10 people sitting at the bar and still chairs that were open and available to sit at the bar in. 3-4 bartenders were behind the bar at a time. Only two were activley servicing patrons, the other 2 were on registers and when done, looked at me but instead of serving her "new" cutomer (me) she instead went to wait on a patron who ALREADY had a drink and who ended up not needing service at that time. After 15 mins, yes I timed her because this has happened around this area too many times to me, she decided to get my order. She was polite so I gave her the benefit of the doubt. I ordered a Double Captain and coke in a rocks glass. She came back with it and charges me $13.00!!! I reluctantly took out my credit card and asked, "Tbis drink is $13.00???" She said, (in a somewhat snotty voice,) "Yes, a double Captain and Coke. Its a double soooo, DOUBLE the price of a single."
I was in shock but handed ovr my credit card because after all, I SHOULD have asked how much it would have been before I ordered. (I hate doing that because I dont want to come off like im a cheapskate)
Anyhow I tasted my drink which was in no way a DOUBLE!
After wandering around we came back to the bar and just watched the goings on of the bartenders and we see other patron at the bar now waiting and waiting and waiting for service all while the bartenders are SLLLLOOOOOWWWWLLLLY "working" yet while patrons are
Waiting for service one of the bartenders had time to talk and hug who I think was either the owner or bouncer of the establishment.
I too have been a bartender for over 10 years in Wisconsin and maybe I am too picky and expect more because it was my career for so long but it is drilled into you to number 1, have AWESOME people skills and that secondly, you get drinks out FAST, make the bar money.
And thirdly, get to those new people in ur bar, make them feel welcomed, get to know them, make them feel at home!(the order of these can vary depending on your crowd but none the less...these MUST be done!)
For as many bartenders as they had working there should have been no empty glasses, no patrons waiting for service and the place should have been clean with no food and empty plates and glasses on tables or the bar. It was very messy. :/
This could be a GREAT place if 1/2 the staff were replaced. I can deal with a messy bar but when the staff is like how I described, it is seriously a "buzz kill" read more
