However, the team at Meyerland Service Station proactively found good-as-new parts through a junkyard, and that saved something like 80% on the parts, which made the repair worth doing. Great communication from Erica, and I found the pricing to be truly reasonable. Plus, like I said, they looked for ways to save me money, and I really appreciated it. I will definitely return with my future repair needs.

First, I understand that this whole experience is ENTIRELY MY FAULT for not being a sharper…read morecustomer. Which is why this is a three-star and not a two-or one-star review. I was just stupid. And as a result, I paid around $300 for someone to just change a car battery. My car was having trouble starting. I hooked it up to a trickle charger and found that the battery was very low. I let it charge overnight. Even with a full charge, the car still had trouble starting. So, I took it to Meyerland Service Station. The service manager looked under the hood and said, "Yeah, you probably just need a new battery. Look at all that corrosion. We'll do a new battery." A couple of hours later, I get an unsolicited itemized list of all the other work (about $1200) that they wanted to do, which I didn't ask them for (including $44 for wiper blades, which is, uh, high.) I just wanted the car to start again and authorized only the work to change the battery, which was an $84 diagnostics fee and $204.48 for the battery which is quite high. Plus fees (presumably disposal fees) and taxes and boom, around $300 for changing a battery, which could have been half the price if I'd gone somewhere else. Again, this is entirely on me. I could have gone back over there with a friend to jumpstart the car and then drove to a service center elsewhere, but I was going to be stuck with that unexpected $84 diagnostic fee anyway. And, I just needed my car back. So I held my nose and willingly paid a hilarious amount for the battery. So, again, it's ENTIRELY ON ME for not being a smarter consumer. I should have gotten the battery changed at Walmart or anywhere else that drops in the battery for free FIRST, and then looked into repair shops if there still seemed to be a problem. Mid- and upper-range batteries from a number of vendors are in the lowish $100s, and lots of places install them for free. The waiting area is clean and pleasant, and the service manager seems like a genuinely nice, friendly guy. According to all the other reviews, they do great work. But I just can't get past putting myself in a situation where I end up paying $300 for a battery.

0/10 recommend - please learn from my experience…read more I brought my 2011 Toyota Sienna in because the battery -- which I had purchased from this shop and was still under warranty -- was not working. What followed was nearly a month of misdiagnoses, repeated failures, and $910 out of my pocket with nothing to show for it. First I was told it was the alternator. Paid for that. Car worked 1-3 days and died again. Then I was told it was a chip. Paid for that. Car died again. Then I was told the chip was fried and needed replacing. Then I was told I needed a whole new computer. At no point did the car actually get fixed. I finally had the van towed to a different mechanic for an independent diagnostic and to repair my non running car (which was running when it arrived to the car clinic of houston). Their certified report found that the alternator ground cable had not been properly connected during the repair here, which blew a fuse and bent the ECU pigtail connector pins directly causing every failure I kept coming back for. On top of that, the battery that was supposed to have been replaced under warranty was still found to be in weak/bad condition and had to be replaced (I've had less than a year with this battery, and supposedly they had used the warranty and given me a new one last week) When I presented this report and asked for accountability, I was told they would not refund anything and instead blamed the damage on the mechanic, with claims that the new mechanic caused the problems. A certified independent report says otherwise and before and after pictures also share a different story. They are now claiming that since the mechanic returned to (My Mechanic on Kirby incredible service) fixed my AC (which that's a while another story of how this car shop tried to fix my AC and similarly kept finding the "solution" and we kept paying for these "solutions" and at the end of the day it was money poorly spent and our usual mechanic had to fix the issue) now Mauricio is blaming the AC repair (done by our usual mechanic after he failed to fix it) is the reason all the issues started even though once again certified reports and before and after pictures and Mauricio's OWN DIAGNOSIS of the car tell a different story. I would not trust this shop with your vehicle. I learned my lesson after two terrible experiences and wanting to give second chance (and get my moneys worth out of the warranty) showed that this is a place that my vehicles are not safe in. Get everything in writing and always seek a second opinion.

So, when I thought I had a relatively minor service need, I decided to give Clear Choice a try. Polite greeting on the phone led to an appt with John. I didn't realize John is the GM of the repair shop. When I arrived I was greeted with a smile (John's wife), then John came out to introduce himself and off I went in a loaner. OK, they don't put you in a Lexus. But the late model Corolla made me appreciate my sedan more than I would driving a new Lexus ES300. Later in the day, John called. And here's where Clear Choice really shined. He explained I had more than a simple alignment ahead of me. Bent tie rods, and worn control arms needed to be replaced before the car could be aligned to factory specs. Also, my CVT transmission had issues. Something that could have been avoided had the dealership replaced these components when they replaced my timing belt at 90,000 miles. John explained the costs of the repairs and asked how long I was planning to keep the car to determine if the car was worth repairing. He didn't push. He respected this was a major expense and not a slam dunk. I went ahead with the repairs. My car was returned sparkling clean, running smooth as silk and tracking straight. And I know I saved at least $1000 over dealership pricing. So, we have a highly qualified Lexus repair shop, clean, comfortable and welcoming. Staffed by people when look to build relationships rather than take the money grab. So, yes. I'll be back in 5k miles for my next service.
