I bought my Spyder F3-T in 2018. The staff was helpful and I got a good deal. Since that time I have taken my Spyder in for oil changes and other routine maintenance. I've had to have my belt changed because a piece of gravel put a hole in it. I've also changed out my wheels and tires for better performance. Whether it's performing a recall service or installing a custom part, they have been reasonably priced, polite, and professional. Jay and his staff do a great job. read more

Do not waste your time in the Forney dealership for a motorcycle. Wanted to do a trade in and got a shitty deal from them that I just left. When I thought all my hopes were out the door, Texas Adventures came to the rescue. They were honest and direct about my situation but actually took the time to see what they could do to help me out. Yesterday I took my 2010 Spyder RT to Texas Adventure Powersports in Richardson. I bought a list from another dealership that did a Trade Evaluation for me. The things they said were wrong were 40% front brake pad thickness, needed rear brakes, drive belt needed adjustment, camber off on the right front, engine oil needed service and all 3 tires needed to be replaced. Z, the service manager said I needed an oil change and did a full service on all fluids and replaced the 3 tires. The front 2 had dry rot and the rear also needed to be replaced. After that was done I didn't need the alignment that I thought I did. Just this past weekend I was having trouble getting it started. He tested the battery and it needed to be replaced. What I thought was going to cost me several thousand dollars cost me way less. I was also given a senior discount on all the parts and the mechanic gave me an extra discount on the trunk shock he installed. On top of all that I got 2 free Texas Adventure Powersports tee shirts. I highly recommend this dealership if you need work done on your Spyder. They could have told me that I needed all that was on the list but they were honest and didn't rip me off. Ladies! (and maybe guys, too). Do NOT take your bike to RMS for service. After coming here for years (I bought the bike here) I took my bike in for a simple inspection a couple of weeks ago. 2009 Yamaha VStar 250 with only 2,400 miles. The gentleman cryptically said, "well, we'll just have to see if you have a bike that passes inspection". He hadn't even seen it yet, and it was if he was preparing me......and 5 minutes later he returned with a worried look on his face, telling me my chain was about ready to fall off because it was so loose. He said he couldn't pass the inspection because of that. I later learned that the CHAIN is not even part of the criteria for an inspection! And at 2,400 miles this chain was virtually new. Being duly scared out of my wits about the "dangerous" chain, I marched to Parts to order a new chain and two new sprockets ($150). Brought it back two weeks later to have them put it on (another $150 in labor), only to find the brake and shifter had been adjusted to make it very hard to ride, and the chain now makes a whining sound. I brought it back TODAY and they couldn't have been more dismissive. He basically said I was lying. I wanted to watch what they did, but I was shooed out of the shop. Told me there was no adjustment that could be done. However, a few minutes later when I got the bike back, the brake and shifter were back to their normal positions. They explained away the whining chain on it being new and said it would go away soon. They were very rude and walked away from me down the hall without telling me my bike was ready. HORRIBLE customer service. Another customer noticed my frustration as he was leaving the service department. "Honey, where's your husband?" he asked. I don't have one, and that shouldn't be a requirement to be treated with respect. This "little lady" is happy to spread the word on her own. read more

It is the second time I stop by since it is so close to my house. The mechanics have been the two times friendly. The first time very nice. But the other staff are a bunch of pricks. Their aim is one, to sell you a bike, but the truth is that many of us motorcycle riders are not in the market but rather need other products and services. In other shops I have been like Dream Machines, or Sport Bikes Plano, they are always very patient and go out of their way to show you everything. A place I went today in Farmers Branch was amazing. But here, I do not know why (Other than maybe because I am brown) they have treated me like crap. I do not go to these places to earn favors, but to bring them business. Today, I arrived because I needed a new tire, valve and mounting. That should have been an easy 150 dollars right of the bat. I know it is not a lot, but business build on little by little. So I arrive to the shop part and explain my need. The young mechanic, he was nice, but sent me to the parts area to ask them if they had the tire. Right there I see a problem, while Boardwalk VW offers a playground and coffee, this guy sent me to go with my tire and wheel to ask the other guy who he could have asked by the extension I suppose the very thing I was sent to ask. Fine.. no biggie, I am no prima dona. I am a bike rider. I walk over there and these two pricks are talking about some parts and reading a large catalog. I very nicely and politely said HI! I was until then having a great day. They didn't even make eye contact. No reply to my Hi! no will be there with you in a second SIR! Nope, just totally and completely ignored me. Like I was not even there. Then, I think... OK, be patient. And waited till they were done with their catalog even though they had already ignored me. But they ended their business, one of them went to the warehouse I suppose and the other one followed him and passed right next to me again... like I was not even there. I took my wheel and tire, went out the door and drove to Dream Machines... On the way to dream machines I found by accident a Mom and Pop shop that had my tire and did the service for about 25% less than it would have cost in Richardson Motor sports while giving me proper service. I do not expect people to kiss my feet, but I do expect a minimal level of service and respect. I ended up spending over 400 dollars, I bought a jacket, a battery, the tire, and gloves. 400 dollars that Richardson didn't see at the opening hours and will never see coming from me as I will never ever set foot in that joint and I will always refer to my little experience today to anyone I know who is in the market for a bike or bike related items. read more

When I first bought my Yamaha V Star 650, Richardson Motorsports was the closest location to me. Don't let the convenience of their location dupe you into trusting these guys...they overcharge the hell out of simple services. Not sure what frater m. and bill b. encountered, because I barely even saw the mechanic. Any of my questions and concerns seemed to be brushed off. If you trust their service department, you won't be saving money. I took my bike to them for an oil change and tire replacement. I find out later that what they charged was FAR too much, and I didn't come back...it was a novice mistake on my part for accepting the overpriced bill. Flash forward to 2014. Years have passed, and I've learned how to perform simple and complex maintenance on my V Star 650 by myself...specifically because of garages like Richardson Motorsport and Central Yamaha of Plano. But I hit a wall that needed some local parts that only a Yamaha dealership would carry. Suffering electrical problems, I research the symptoms accurately and pin-point it to either the Stator or the Voltage Regulator. The mechanic advises that its the Starter Clutch Assembly. This was NOT the problem, and if I had trusted them that would have been a costly mistake...but I guess the guy was shooting from the hip when I was telling him the symptoms, because I didn't oblige to the $50 diagnostic fee... A $60ish Voltage Regulator/Rectifier magically costs $156.42, not including shipping and handling, and they only had one of them in stock. No open communication to the mechanic when I have questions, but instead I have to talk to some snide, dismissive man. I found my solution for a fraction of their price in Irving, and it was still an actual Yamaha part, not after-market. I would never recommend their service center, even for the convenience of saving time. You could do better. read more

Bad Service, Over Charged and Gauged me on the work done... They quoted a labor rate of 1.5 hours per two lights installed charge way more. They charged $100 to install two mirrors and did the job wrong. I removed and reinstalled correctly once home in less than 10 min. The installed my top center light the lazy way, see photos. If you want to charge top dollar do the work correctly. I called to speak to the manager two times. Jerry the manager did not care and did not wart to talk about it and hung up on me twice. I agreed to purchase a used RZR800 over the phone. I agreed to pay in full if desired. I communicated an EXACT date when I would be able to pick up the RZR some 3 weeks out. Called in advance before I drive up to pick it up only to be told they sold it. Brandon said he attempted to charge my credit card, but it failed. I came here for routine service on my bike. They suggested a carb clean and I agreed to it. When I went to get my bike it was sounding terrible. They told me it was a faulty choke cable. I agreed to letting them fix it. When I got my bike back the sound was even worse. I called and they treated me badly saying things like why would the choke cable affect the sound. I explained they we were the ones who suggested the repair. I tried talking to the store manager and they gave me the run around by doing things like sending my calls to the sales manager. They wouldn't even give me the general manager'manager's name. I had to Google it. I called and asked for him by name and they sent me to the sales manager again. It wasn't until I went in person that I found out the tech who worked on my bike had been fired. They didn't tell me why but it was insinuated that it was for shoddy work. They remembered me and my bike and offered to try and fix it. I was reluctant to leave it with them at all again because of the total incompetence displayed by them but I was in a bind and wanted my bike better. They told me to bring it in and it would be fixed by the end of the day. I showed back up and it was not fixed. I asked to speak with the general manager and they wouldn't let me. This time the mechanic came out. He said he'd come in on his off day and it would be ready on Tuesday morning. Again, it was not ready. This time I called and asked to the general managers voice mail. I spoke with the GM and he was a complete jerk. It was late Thursday before it was completed. They didn't offer to reimburse me for the needless repair. The mechanic who actually fixed it was more professional than both of the managers I spoke with combined. He was very apologetic and courteous. The general manager was a cocky asshole who assumes that he knows everything that is going on. It's no wonder no one wanted to confront him when I had a problem. All in all a giant waste of time and money. If you like your bike and want a company to respect it DO NOT TAKE IT HERE. read more

2002 Yamaha V star was running fine until one day when the bike crapped out on me while driving down mockingbird. Parked it at the white rock dog park overnight. rented a uhaul and dropped it off to be fixed ($85). Received a call few days later. Went to pick it up, ($365). Guy at the counter reported the "tech" cleaned the carb and replaced the air filter. Took it for a ride. Didn't feel much better than the day I dropped it off. I couldn't get it past 60mph at full throttle. It was about a 10% improvement. Took the first exit and returned to RMS. Counter guy said the problem i brought it in for was fixed. *it really wasn't. I never told them I wanted a certain repair done. I just wanted the bike to run like it did a week before I brought it in. In my mind, the problem I brought it in for was not resolved. I decided, against my better judgement, to let them do some further work on it to get it right. About 5 days later, I picked it up. Still didn't sound or feel quite right, but at least I could get it to 85. The cost for this was an additional $550. I drove it home just to get it out of there. I would not recommend this place to have your motorcycle repaired. read more

Manager does not take care of business. This guy never did the title transfer of my trade in, this means, I'm legally still responsible for the other bike, and not only that, they sold my bike and the person that bought it can't get tags, because it's still in my name. I purchased a demo bike, I was promised spare key, the first big maintenance on the house, because it was almost due anyway, to do the "ufit" thing with seats and handle bars, etc.... The only thing I finally got was the spare key, and I had to buy it, get it cut, they did do the programming. So, if you go here because you have no other choice, get everything in writing!! I heard they fired the "Sales Manager" I dealt with, maybe service will improve. read more

Service department was an awful experience. took bike in for a carb cleaning and a rear tire tube. $750.00 and 2 months later, they screwed up the original carb so bad they had to replace it. They charged me to replace parts they lost when they took the original carb apart. Reassembled and ran exactly the same as when I took it in so I refused delivery. They blamed the issue on everything from an aftermarket exhaust pipe, the jet size, 'bad metallurgy' of the original carburetor. Got ridiculous. I told them that none of those were the problem as it ran fine 3 months ago. I ended up paying their techs to GUESS what was wrong with it and throw parts at it until the issue went away. They were nice enough to give me the cleaned original carb, (like it was some proof of how hard they worked on it). Guess I got a new Christmas ornament out of it. Run Away.... read more

The sales people were great. We bought 2 Sea Doos in March 2015. The service is bad. I paid for them both to be winterized and summerized at our dock and tried to use one on Mother's Day and it did not run. I called Tyler in service and he said that I did not ask for them to be "lake ready" just a service call, and yet it says "summerize" on my invoice. They dropped the bolt for my battery terminal in the water and I had no idea. Tyler said they called but my iPhone has no message or missed call. I went in today and spoke to the GM, he said "we had a bad salesman" and that is why we were not told to buy a battery tender and change the batteries and if we had listened to our messages we would have known the Ski needed the bolt. We will not return!! Sorry to our friends for encouraging them to buy watercraft from them. It is obvious they are more interested in making the sale than keeping customers. read more

purchased 08 Road Star and paid cash, the morning i broke my hand and never got to ride, over the 2 months had spoke to Christopher the finance mgr, took bike back for them to resale, after several days called why not on website told takes acouple of days and was being detailed, couple days pass and no bike on website. Headed to dealer wth my title and came in from the back and found my bike(which was suppose to be detailed and on the floor) was sitting outside dirty under a shed. walked into Christophers ofc and asked whats up and sd had a $500 deposit on my bike, asked to see and he dug thru a stack of folders and tore a cc receipt from a folder and sd was mine, thewhole time saying he'd repost..why if had deposit and never was posted.. asked to see the paperwork if deposit was on my bike and he refused..walked outback with the original salesman and looked at my bike and had never been cleaned...never on their website..never had deposit..Christopher is a DISHONEST BOY......spoke to the GM and sd would look into..came back the next day and asked for the keys and title back and went and rented a trailer to take bike home..I asked the GM what was the problem here and he sd "dont have time to talk to you and turnedhis bak on me and walked back in....Pd these guys $9,500.00 2 months earlier came back for them to sell my bike and totally disrespected me..Kyle the salesman was great, but the GM and Christopher..no class...Christopher CAN NOT be trusted...................filing w BBB, and every other passI can put review................ read more

Buyers and those needing repair, Beware! After going to Richardson Motor Sports for the last 10 years I have decided to never go there again. The parts department has been great over the years and Bobby is someone you can trust, but for the rest of them I would avoid at all cost!!! The service department did a terrible job on my Seadoo, broke extra parts in the process and NEVER DID FIX THE PROBLEM (after several visits and each time them telling me it was repaired)(I ended up having to take the ski to more qualified people to get it fixed). While they had the ski, it set outside in the weather for three solid weeks and was a filthy mess when I got it back, including grease in multiple places from where they were careless and never bothered to clean it up. I also got a lot of pressure when i called to get an update from one of the techs, he kept trying to upsell me after the fact and after we had agreed upon the service to be done. To top it off, when I got the ski back it had two puncture tears in the seat from where they had either been careless or deliberate. When I approached the manager Jerry about the seat, he said he would check into repair options and then never called me back. All this after I had spent hundreds of dollars for them to fix one problem. Beware! (FYI, the good techs who used to be there, Gary and Russ, who did good work are no longer there) read more
