Our builders used them to install our thermostat. We had a leak in our house from the pipe the A/C drips into, and they builders called them out to check our HVAC unit. The tech claimed our HVAC line needed to be cleaned out without even opening up and looking at it. It was only two years old. We called a neutral company and had them come out to do an inspection with no prior information. They opened everything up and said everything was in top shape...opened the line and told us it was immaculately clean. This just proved that Ace was coming up with a reason for the builders to be able to blame us for the leak, because Ace is contracted with our builders. Follow the money. A year later, our thermostat plus sign button just stopped working. We tried to call Ace, because it had a 5 year warranty. They wanted us to pay $100 for them to come out and replace it. We could go buy a new thermostat for close to that price. I bought and had it installed through Texas Ace in 2021. The day after the installation, there was leaking and they gave me unreasonable explanation. I overheard the technician talking to the office about something broken, but the manager Phil who was not at the site insisted it is my drainage issue. We had an argument which was observed by our neighbor. At the end they agree to took out the pan and found a broken place and it was replaced. Two weeks ago, I had their technician came for regular maintenance. He found that the capacitor is no good. He wanted to charge me over $400 to replace it on top of the $129 maintenance fee. It only take him 5 mins to uninstall and install while he is there for the maintenance. I checked my warranty, it is said I have 10 years parts. When I called their office, the operation manager said that in order to provide me the part, I have to use their (sky high) labor. They won't offer me the part or they don't order the part. He told me that, I can go to their office, sitting in front of their computer to order the part. I ordered the capacitor at Amazon for $16. A service provider charged $140 to replace it. Texas Ace's warranty is a joke! Never use Texas Ace, period. read more

A HUGE shoutout to Texas Ace Heating and Air! Our air quit on Sunday, house is 5 months old, yesterday they came right out to take a look. Our coil had a hole in it. Jesus was great but told us it could take a week due to getting parts and their schedules in July. We have a grandson who has a overgrowth syndrome, trouble regulating body temp, pulmonary issues, etc. and it's HOT. We let them know we had this dilemma and they figured it out, sent two volunteers out here from Midlothian after work and they are fixing it. It was MISERABLE last night. It's been miserable today. Trustworthy company. We called Texas Ace when the AC stopped working and all of the at home troubleshooting didn't help. REALLY KIND FOLK all around. When I called and gave my spiel, no one was on the other end rushing me. The guy listened to me and let me tell me story. If he didn't care, he didn't show it. I had two guys come out the day after I call. One that did the diagnosis and I think the other was a salesman of sorts...but don't quote me on that. I only guess that cause the entire process was so well put together. They have amazing customer service skills, you usually don't get that these days. Anyways, the first guy found our broken coil and got me set up with the next guy. As he was leaving, our trash guys came and emptied our bin and left the lid open. Normally not a big deal, but it was pouring outside. So the gentleman that diagnosed our AC rolled our trashbin in the garage. SO NICE. The next guy was also nice. The entire time we were getting text messages with belittle bios to let us know who was on their way and when. We got a couple options for repair but we decided to replace our entire unit because we had some problems with it before. They were about to replace it the next morning. We have been using Texas Ace for several years. They actually installed our original heating and air conditioning equipment when we purchased the home. The Texas heat takes it's toll on air conditioners, and we have had to have a coil replaced at the five-year mark. Texas Ace did it under warranty which saved us a fortune. We have them do all of our annual inspections and they are always very thorough. No up-selling or other types of trickery that we have experienced with other companies. Today repairs were completed to "fix" the issue; however now, our home isn't cooling at all. We called the emergency phone number only to be told no one can come back out to fix/service again until tomorrow evening. 1) This is an issue they caused; 2) they made the situation worse; and 3) now no one is available to rectify the situation. It 110 degrees today, and now my family has to pack up to stay in a hotel tonight. I would absolutely not recommend this company. We've lost faith in this company and it's workmanship/customer service. The only reason we continue to use them is because we live in a new build home that is warrantied with them for the next year. read more

OK ... so when we moved to this area 13 years ago, we knew of Ellis AC and so we used Ellis AC. Including having both units changed out in 2009 for higher efficiency units (US and Texas rebates) and we continue to use them as they have done a great job of servicing our AC/Heat. However, they will not service our Fireplace Insert ... So a few years ago, I started looking around for a local company that would service our FP Insert (runs off propane) and Texas Ace said they did that. Well - they sent out Charles to our house and he has been out again this week and on both occasions Charles did a GREAT job - not just his FP Insert work, but his professionalism, friendliness, advice, and concern for cleaning up or keeping the mess to a minimum. We are very satisfied with Texas Ace service ... even the customer service calls have been great! I'd highly recommend them - we haven't used their main business yet - servicing HVAC - but I feel confident by our dealings with them so far they do a great job on those as well. read more

Prayed before calling and am so blessed by this company. Chase came out to give Mom's house a solid look over before giving us an indepth proposal. He went outside, up in the attic and measured return vents. He spoke in layman's terms to help us see what we were lacking after asking many questions about the performance of the previous unit which was 15 years old. So very personal and customized and precise. He told us the current unit was oversized and therefore worked harder than it needed to and a 1/5 ton smaller was a much better fit. He didn't have to do that - above and beyond and less expensive. The unit cannot be installed for a few days - lots of failing units out there before us, but in the interim, they are keeping this unit working for my elderly mother. Keeping her comfortable and safe (she's elderly) seems very important to them as it definitely is to us. Such a blessing! read more

Someone showed up on Mother's Day, for which I was grateful, and let me know that the part would be ordered on Monday because the parts department was closed. House built in 2003 and its time to replace the HVAC. I reached out to my FB network for recommendations and was provided with recommendations for seven different HVAC outfits. Texas Ace was in the middle of the road when it came to price. Shawn was great to work with and has the heart of a teacher. He was patient in answering all my questions. We had one 4-ton and two 2-ton units and wanted to replace them with two 4-tons and a multi-zone configuration. Shawn took time to explain the pros and cons of a variable compressor and the science of ductwork. On the day of the install, his team (Jesus, Fernando, and Pat) were great. They took special care to cover the travel path and gently moving furniture in preparation for demo and install. They completed the work in one day and I was very please with the finished product. Following the install I lost hot water (I suspect) on account of having to turn of the gas to the house for the AC install. I reached out to the On-call service and had another Texas Ace Service team member to my home to get us hot water within an hour after the call. Texas Ace is top shelf and I HIGHLY recommend them if you need HVAC replacement. read more

We purchased a new construction home this year and have had them come out three times now for minor issues such as explaining our split system, changing out a defective thermostat, and removing an obstacle blocking a vent. For a FULL week today, our ac has been out. TX Ace was NOT our choice - they were chosen by our builder (Meritage Homes) and installed our system in our new home. Just at the one-year mark we come home to find our AC not working one Thursday evening...We called, and they came out the following day.... the evaporator coil is busted and something else.... the issue is not with the part or the repair. The issue is we were told Monday that the part was ordered and was in transit and slowly but surely through the week.... we have stopped getting return phone calls to our inquiries...the part magically still is not in the shop. I am sorry but, in this day, - #1...YOU CALL YOUR CUSTOMERS BACK! and #2...it does not take a week to get anything from anywhere w/in the us. It is summer in Texas, and I've been w/o AC for a week. I'm speculating but I would think that over the week that have installed other new units similar to ours for this builder...one would think a customer in a home would get more effective service, but I suppose since we aren't paying out we are unimportant. It's ridiculous that it's come to this. read more

Excellent service, from start to finish. We knew we wanted very efficient , very quiet heating and air conditioning with an air purification system installed. Shawn came by and went over the whole house too to bottom. He showed us where our ductwork was leaking (wasting money and bringing dirty Aric air into the house), he explained his recommended options completely, so we knew exactly why he felt we needed what we did. He also took time to explain the manufacturer rebates, the paperwork, and even the tax rebates from the government for installing energy efficient systems. He explained that our ducts were really in need of replacement, and that even with very efficient equipment, we wouldn't be hitting the efficient numbers if we didn't do the ducts. But once he did the ducts, he explained, we could save money by going from 2 three-ton systems to 1 five ton system. He then took a lot of time to explain why he recommended variable speed air conditioning, and showed us two systems from Lennox that he recommended. He told us exactly how much more the 25 SEER system would cost over the 18 SEER, and an approximation of how much we would save each year. Once we realized how quickly we would make back the difference, it was really a no-brainier. Shawn also explained that we could save a bit by using a slightly less efficient furnace--since in Texas you don't use the heat enough months to spring for the very top of the efficiency line. He also explained the PureAir system and the new wi-fi enabled thermostat, with smart phone integration. And he zoned out home to give us better control over our energy use. His team were really nice guys, they got everything done in ONE DAY (essential, so we weren't without heat) and took great care to protect our floors from scratches, dirt, etc. read more

Initially, I was disappointed with the customer service that was provided by the office staff. However, Mr. Phil made everything right.

3rd time I've had to call the emergency line in less than a year. Can never get someone out promptly. To wait 24hrs fo an emergency call is unacceptable. I have a 10month old and twice we have had to leave our home becauae it got too hot for him to sleep in. read more

They gave me two choices - order the part, no charge, under warranty, and wait a couple of weeks with no a/c... OR, buy the one they had on their truck for $300 and get cold air immediately. YEAH, RIGHT. I insisted that I knew it was under warranty no matter what, and demanded to speak to a manager. As soon as I did that, the guy went to his truck, installed the part, and left. He didn't even have an excuse for changing his tune!! He was trying to take advantage of the fact that it's summer in Texas and we were desperate for col a/c. But I knew better!!! Incredible service, professionalism, and follow through! These guys are great at working to resolve the most challenging issues with your AC. Their call in and scheduling process is top notch! Complete trust in these guys in our home if we're there with them or not. They were able to resolve an issue that appeared to be the cause of changing thermostats (as another company stated that came out under the home warranty with 3 visits over 4 weeks WASTED time) and Texas Ace kept working until they figured it out. Texas Ace Installed an A/C unit on behalf of my builder in 2017 and I contracted with them going forward to service my A/C unit twice yearly. I noticed after my last service that the cage around my unit was not bolted down. I contacted the company and ask them to send a technician out to put the bolts back in the cage. The technician came out and said he didn't have any bolts to fasten it back down. I later spoke with a member of management and was told that they don't install cages and I needed to contact my builder to have the cage bolted down again. From a customer service perspective, they didn't care about me as a customer. They lost a long-time customer because they would not take the time to install four screws that they removed. That spoke volumes to me about the level of integrity of the company. If something major happened after one of my regular services they definitely would not do anything to fix the issue they would merely pass the buck. read more

I bought a unit from Texas Ace four years ago. Just before my installation warranty was expired a component failed. This particular component was a third of the cost of the unit. Shawn conveniently left that out of his sales pitch when he up sold me the "more efficient" unit. They're technicians have always been professional but there is an obvious up sell policy coming from that group. I was happy with my purchase with them until I learned that I could be replacing the entire unit on my next repair, because the next component could put me at the cost of the unit they installed! My two regrets in dealing with these people are that I let them up sell me and I recommended them to other people, because my experience with technicians was positive. While Jory and Phil could care less. I take that back, they're very interested in getting you into one of their service plans. I would just advise not letting them up sell, be aware of the high SEER number they throw at you. I bought in thinking about the efficiency not realizing the components are weak but expensive. Conveniently not part of the Texas Ace sales pitch. You clowns made money on the install, but you won't get any maintenance or the inevitable replacement. read more

The team arrived on time, finished the work on time and cleaned up everything. The installation foreman took time to review their work with me and walked me through the new thermostat set up before they left. Would that all contractors put this much effort into their customer service and backing their promises. I'd recommend Texas Ace to anyone looking for great service, great quality and a company that delivers on their promises. read more

New construction home and the builder uses Texas Ace for all their warranty work. Both times a technician has come to my home to deal with a warranty issue they have tried to upsell me additions to my system or other work they want me to authorize. It's clear their technicians are required to upsell these costly additions (e.g. $1000 UV sterilizers, filters, start kits, etc.); likely as they work on commission. As a captive audience I resent the attempted upsells when I'm dealing with a warranty issue on a system my builder installed, and where I have no choice in who services the system while under the builder's warranty. If these costly additions were so important then the builder should have installed them before I bought the house. As I have no option but to use Texas Ace until the builder's warranty expires I'll continue to allow their technicians to work on my system, but once the warranty is out of the picture; Texas Ace will be as well. I'll continue to use another firm which doesn't require their technicians to upsell costly additions and pays their technicians a salary rather than having them work on commission. Sadly, this takes away from what appears to be highly competent work otherwise. The technicians were on-time both times they came out and did the job they were asked to, in a timely and efficient manner. It's just unfortunate the customer's last interaction with the technician is unpleasant as they try to convince you to buy/install a bunch of things they think are important (and which are expensive!). In both cases they didn't want to take "No" for answer and wanted to argue the point on why what they were suggesting was vital (Please explain to me how a UV sterilizer is vital?). Get rid of the upselling of costly additions to service calls and I'll consider revising this review. read more

I can't speak highly enough of Texas Ace. When your AC isn't cooling your home in the summer, it's easy to panic. But Texas Ace was wonderful. They have rescued us twice. Both times on the hottest days of Texas summer. The first rescue came to help after an unfortunate home repair accident in which a nail punctured the copper piping. They were quick to send a knowledgeable and thorough professional to come fix the problem. The tech was very conscientious to maintain a clean pathway through the house. He made sure that all due diligence was followed to ensure that the matter was fixed completely. He took the time to explain what he was doing and why. The second rescue came this past weekend in 107 degree heat. Again the technician checked the entire system and overlooked nothing. We are now again enjoying wonderful cooler temps. Texas Ace was fast, thorough and completely transparent. Both technicians adhered to all protocols to protect again COVID-19. Highly recommend! read more
