You only do what he says after you have considered all of the other options and decided to follow his plan. Side options will always be on the menu - and you will always have alternative choices available. * * * My leg was not standard and it posed major obstacles under the skin. The veins were all convoluted like balls of yarn. It was hard for the doctor to get to where he had to make his changes. Other veins got worked into the deal getting treatments that paralleled those happening in the main operation. Other views were blocking the view and blocking the operation making the procedure complicated and painful The anaesthesioligst who was Dr Brenner himself had to put anaesthesia is some unexpected places. They coundn't get everything frozen or sleepy like they wantd to. So that procedure was far more painful than normal and far more painful than expected. All of the other operations have been normal making them both comfortable and effective. Veins were located in the right place and they did what they were told. So I had three operations on my right leg and a fourth is planned to finish old business. Results: The operation is meant to treat edema. The swellling and adema have gone down much more slowly that would be the case in a normal operiation. The known normal operations have generally had the desired results. My leg that was NOT operated on has also shown improvement That could mean none of my operations did anything However, I am getting fatter and that could make things worse in both legs. So I am inclined to give Dr Brenning credit for the changes in both legs. When the body feels fluid flowing differently in one part of the body, it can steer other parts to make the same innovation. * * * All in all, my operations have been of mixed effectiveness ... But I think Dr Brenner is fine. I think my legs are messy, weird and make it hard for him to work. I see clear and unquestionable signs of improvement. My rate of improvement is slower than what you get in the text books. My read would be if Brenner can get good results with a mess like me - he should be able to do good things for you too. And he does give you choices. You will know what you are choosing an what will happen. Most people are normal and most should have simple wonderful good results under his care.

However, I believe my concern goes far beyond the policy itself. It is about fairness, empathy, and the overall patient experience. Patients are routinely expected to be understanding when physicians run behind schedule. On several occasions at this office, I have checked in on time only to wait anywhere from 90 minutes to two hours before being seen. Patients accept those delays because we recognize that emergencies happen and physicians sometimes fall behind. Why doesn't that same understanding extend to patients? On the morning of my appointment, I left home well in advance. I encountered severe thunderstorms, road closures, traffic diversions, and multiple accidents. After arriving at your parking lot, I spent more than 10 minutes driving around simply trying to find an available parking space. Had adequate parking been available, I would almost certainly have checked in within your stated grace period. Does the practice take situations such as severe weather, inadequate parking, and circumstances beyond a patient's control into consideration before cancelling an appointment that took six months to obtain? My greatest disappointment was not that I was asked to reschedule. It was the attitude of the front desk employee. There was no empathy, no willingness to listen, and no attempt to contact Dr. Zikusoka's clinical staff to determine whether I could still be accommodated. On previous visits, I have personally witnessed staff make those calls for other patients. Healthcare should be patient-centered from the moment a patient walks through the front door. Unfortunately, that was not my experience. I continue to have the highest regard for Dr. Michelle Zikusoka. She is an outstanding cardiologist whose professionalism, compassion, and dedication are beyond question. My criticism remains directed solely at the front office staff and the way this situation was handled. I sincerely hope Austin Heart will consider applying the same patience, flexibility, and understanding to its patients that patients are expected to extend when the practice is running behind schedule.

The website is richly informative and easy to maneuver! The Hamilton Vein Clinic Round Rock office is easy to access with lots of available parking. The office has an inviting welcoming ambiance with low-key calming decor and nice amenities, i.e., current magazines and newspapers, bowls of peppermints, a Keurig beverage machine for coffee, tea and other hot beverages, bottles of water and artfully arranged uncrowded seating! The office team is superb! ANYA is the warm smiling personable front arena concierge! Medical Assistant NOHALANI took me to an examination room to review and gather additional information, take vitals and then introduced Physician Assistant AMANDA, who continued with the information gathering and examination process. Next Sonographer BRIANNA carefully "sonogram'ed" both legs. Before, during and after STEPHANIE is the catalyst ensuring everything needing to be communicated for appointments and messages, and all else is executed in excellent clear communications! After reviewing the sonograms it was determined I would benefit from the Radio Frequency Ablation (RFA) since there were three veins involved and the nature of the procedure would take three quick succession appointments and then a follow-up sonogram! During the discussion of the procedures, I asked if we could proceed as soon as possible! Fortunately their schedule allowed us to proceed immediately with the first of three RFA procedures! Medical technicians Marisela and Maritza provided exquisite careful prepping of the "operating room" and my leg and narrated each step of the process! It was impressive! I am grateful they and Hamilton Vein Center is obsessed with sterile everything in this office! After getting me prepped they asked what music I wanted to listen to throughout the procedure and brought up my requested playlist on the laptop next to the procedure table! That was a first for me and what a great idea! After all the prep was completed Dr. Justin Smith arrived to do the procedure! Whereas it is not essential to this review I will include that Dr. Smith is a movie-star handsome fella! What is essential to know: Dr. Smith has performed these and the other vein procedures every day for years! Dr. Smith possesses a personable, kind demeanor, and like Marisela and Maritza, narrated each step and aspect of what he was going to do next, and as he was performing that portion of the procedure! They then threatened me by saying, that if I refused to pay this additional bill, it would go to a collection agency, and that my credit score would be affected. Had no choice but to pay. In addition, the surgery didn't fix this issue. It helped but didn't fix.

Everything from routine imagining to diagnostic, they all go above and beyond to make me feel cared about and comfortable. With limited mobility, they are also very careful, patient, and eager to accommodate any of my needs (e.g., a step stool, removing my shoes for me, etc.). During MRIs they provide a new pair of no slip socks to keep the lil piggies warm (you get to keep them). And, they even cover my body with a cozy, heated blanket...very spa like! It's the small touches like these that make an uncomfortable, and sometimes a bit scary, process much more tolerable. I'm so grateful for everyone at ARA-WP. Best location in the ATX in my opinion.
