It's been a day since I have gotten back from surgery for a heart ablation done at the Austin Heart Hospital in Round Rock, Texas. I am a patient of Dr. Whitehill there. I am very happy to say that my experience there was fantastic from the point of checking in at the hospital in the morning to being discharged after the procedure was finished and I was ready to leave later on that night. A small army of very nice, very competent people helped me through every step of a rather scary and potentially dangerous operation. The nurses, anesthesiologists, and surgical staff were especially compassionate and listened carefully to all my concerns, and then acted on them. The vibe there was always upbeat and positive. I really felt that these people cared about me and what they were doing. It definitely wasn't just a job for them. I'd like to shout out to the nurses there: Heather, Lexi and Joe. I had a minor complication after surgery and they stood by me, taking turns attending to me until the problem was fixed. Every person that I interacted with was patient, friendly and compassionate. What more can you ask of a hospital? I love to write reviews about food and restaurants, etc, but never about places like hospitals. Let's just say that I need to be very impressed if I am to spend my valuable time writing a review of a hospital. Thank you, Dr. Whitehill and staff. You guys are the best! read more

I've had the (unexpected) pleasure of seeing Dr. Z from a Stroke a year ago and had my 1 yr follow up and let me say, he is just as nice today as he was a year ago. While in the hospital a year the nurses kept talking about the Dr. Z & how I'd love him. They said that everyone calls him Dr. Z bcuz his last name is hard to pronounce but none the less he was/is great. A wonderful Cardiologist!!! I do not normally provide a review for medical/healthcare facilities because they are all struggling to keep it together right now. It is a challenge and I am very aware and understanding of this fact. However, my experience with Austin Heart Round Rock has been so frustrating and mind boggling that I do not want anyone else to experience the poor service I've had. Something is not right with their policies/procedures because I have been given the same wrong information on 3 separate occasions when calling. I've spoken with a manager after two instances (3 weeks apart) and was hoping that it would have taken care of the problem. Nope, I called again today for a different reason (incorrect test information being given to another doctor) and I was told the same thing yet again---"it shows the doctor has not read or interpreted that test yet". If that were true, then why are there notes from the doctor in the after visit summary? Why is information about said test being shared with another doctor? My time is being wasted. Other doctor's offices and staff's time is being wasted. Austin Heart is causing frustration, and their time is also being wasted as well! When I asked to speak with the manager again today, I was told the person was unavailable and would call me back. That did not happen. Austin Heart Round Rock, please do better. read more

Dr Mack and Dr Whitehall are the best. Will be getting my new pacemaker tomorrow and I totally trust them!

The entire experience was surprisingly positive. All of the staff was friendly and helpful. From procedures to medical discussions, everyone was extremely nice and not at all clinical. Especially Dr. Chen. He was always professional and informative yet he always had an encouraging attitude with a smile on his face. I am so happy to have found him. read more

Follow-up appointment with PA Vernell Clemons after echo test was the best experience in many years of visiting many doctors. I was truly impressed with her knowledge, the detailed explanation of the test and comparisons to last years test. She discussed medications I was taking and alternatives. She wasn't rushing and had great bedside manner. Definite 5 star review. read more

Went here for an ABI at the directive of my foot doctor to check for circulation issues that might be causing the problems I have with heel and calf pain. The facility feels very high tech, clean, and up to date. They were able to schedule me within a week, even though my foot doctor had indicated that the scheduling was usually a few weeks out. I'm assuming this is because I chose to drive to Round Rock instead of going locally to an Austin branch. Upon arrival, the wait was minimal, maybe about ten minutes at most. The person at the desk asked me questions and filled in the blanks in the computer instead of having me write things out on paper. This was great for me since I have cubital tunnel syndrome, and therefore some pretty intense hand pain when writing. So don't worry if you're going here and they don't have you fill out any new patient forms beforehand. The diagnostician was extremely friendly, explained everything as we went, answered all of my questions, and was patient with me while I slowly did some requested exercises to duplicate my issue. This place is a little out of the way for me, but I'll definitely be seeing them if I need any other such diagnostics done. Worth the drive. read more

Greeting was cordial as usual. Waiting room is comfortable. Waiting time was very short. The annual record update process needs to be legible & electronic. Photocopies are old school. Medical assistant was efficient. Respectful & attentive. Thanks Dr exam was friendly. Medical dialog was easy to comprehendible & valued. Exam data is electronic tracked. Smooth. Overall the staff was engaging. I appeared to everyone's primary focus during each phase. Warm & fuzzy is nice. Another excellent favorable medical experience @ Austin Heart. I had an appointment with Dr. Siegel. He ordered a stress echo test. He did not show up for the test and he did not provide a backup cardiologist. The two people administering the test scrambled to find another cardiologist. They found "Dr. Joe" to provide coverage if needed. After the test, I was sent home without seeing a cardiologist. They assured me that I would be contacted for a follow up appointment. I waited a week and still no call, so I contacted them. The person who answered the phone stated that they would send me the report. For real!?! Received the report today and and I have no idea what the report means. What kind of service is this? I totally want a refund of the $$$$ I paid for what their website calls "setting the standard in Cardiac and Vascular Care". ~ NOT read more

I first went to Austin Heart because my health insurance changed and my cardiologist was no longer in network. After seeing Dr. Szczytowski, my concerns about a new specialist were gone. He is attentive and apparently cares about his patients. The office staff is friendly and efficient and the waiting room is always clean and neat (not that I get to sit there for very long). My last visit found the MA waiting for me before I could even get signed in. I have thought about going back to my first cardiologist now that my insurance has changed again but I plan to stay with Austin Heart and "Dr. Joe" for their great care. Had a 1:15 PM appointment on 6-21-19 at Round Rock location with Dr, Panya, arrived at 12:45, check in went well enough, (Amanda), I was taken through to review paperwork etc. with Michaela, she appeared to know what she was doing, however, 1:15 came and went but no sign of the Doctor, at ± 2:00 PM Dr Pandya arrives, beaming like he's 10 minutes early, not a hint of an apology for keeping me waiting. His manner was friendly, and quite thorough, and made referrals for me and said he would write a prescription for additional meds. Monday arrived and no sign or trace of meds, either they weren't written or sent to wrong pharmacy. I called and got through to voice mail, left message with nurse, no reply, called a second time, again voice mail, I was given a card with advice that any problems I could cal the Practice Manager, Cindi Becker, and speak with her directly, ("Your call is SO important to us") Guess? Voice mail with no return call, After about 8 calls to AHRR, I came to the conclusion that maybe I am not really THAT important to them, I cancelled future appointments and will choose another provider. Third World service at US prices, disgraceful. read more

Dr. F. Earl Dixon has been my Cardiologist for approximately 7 years. I am very pleased with his treatment and care. He has kept me well inform of all my testing and the condition of my cardiovascular system. I highly recommend Dr. Dixon.
