They were very responsive and willing to do whatever was needed. I have moved over 10 times. This was by far the easiest.

They stacked furniture pieces that have metal feet on top of other wood furniture with no protection at all. The tops are scratched badly. They put heavy boxes and large taxidermy pieces on top of leather chairs, permanently damaging the leather. Heavy boxes were stacked on top of other boxes that caved in from the weight. These people should not be in the moving business.

For those of you wanting additional information: After getting a written bid and scheduling the date, my mother's moving date arrived. What was supposed to be a crew of 6, was a crew of 2. They only worked part of the day, showed up with several boxes no packing materials (when the bid included the cost to fully pack a 2500 square foot house and packing was described by the owner as "boxing and bubble wrapping" items) and failed to do the job they had committed to. The crew stopped work in mid-afternoon, lied about "coming back" (they never came back) leaving my 70 year old mom and (temporarily disabled) stepfather to try box and try to move themselves. When confronted with angry phone calls, the owner lied about the actions of he and his crew. Big, heavy items are still left in the house. What kind of a business or business owner does that? Someone disingenuous; and certainly no one that you want to enter into a business arrangement with.

We had been in touch with Black Diamond moving company, but bc of the friend of a friend connection, we decided to give DD a chance. Big mistake. During our move a couple pieces of furniture were damaged. We took pictures a s reported it. We were told their guy looked at them and couldn't fix them, so they would replace them. We were told the parts were ordered. We followed up 60 days later, and the next person we spoke with said they couldn't find any records or orders etc. they promised they would take care of it. A few more months pass, and we follow up again. Still no replacement pieces. The next guy we spoke with said he had never heard of us calling in about our issues. Though he was polite and apologized, we're now 5 months out with replacements that take 6-8 weeks to get in just now being ordered. All in all it'll be 6-7 months before we receive the replacement item. If it'd been handled in a timely manner, fine. But at this point it's past ridiculous. The number of phone calls and time it's taken our end to get it taken care of while being lied to and yanked around has really put an awful taste in our mouths with this company. I wish we'd just found someone else to handle our move. Stay far away and check out other places in town!

He said he would call back and reschedule as soon as he was out of the vet. Two hours later, after not hearing from him, we called again. With feeble apologies, he promised to come over within an hour. Three hours later, still no response. Based on the TOTAL lack of responsiveness of this company and lack of courtesy to call to say they are running late or have a problem, I certainly wouldn't use Duffel Donkey to move. Would they even show up? Would your household goods ever show up once loaded? Sorry to be so harsh, DD, but first appearances matter. I gave you three chances and you failed.

After purchasing a house through Habitat's Homeowner Program, I began moving my things on AUG 6-9…read more The following Monday, I got word from the manager, Brad, that they could squeeze me in today at 1 pm (AUG 10th). I confirmed and took the day off to be there, assuming Brad would be there too. When I arrived, the movers were already in the apartment; I OK'd this with Brad in advance. I spoke with one of the movers and reconfirmed each room and pointed at each piece of furniture that was accompanying us to the new house. The movers all nodded and began delegating tasks amongst themselves. Once the selected pieces of furniture were loaded into the truck, we drove over to the new address. Here's where issues arose: Once inside, the movers began unloading the truck. Everything seemed fine as they unloaded the first-floor furniture (Couch, Table/Chairs, TV Stand). However, when bringing up pieces of the bed frame upstairs, two of the movers clunked the metal frame against the wall. I asked them to please be careful and help each other after witnessing another mover struggle to maneuver the headboard piece up the stairs by himself as the others watched. Just wow. After hearing the metal bed frame scrape against the hallway ceiling, I came over to observe, which is when I watched a second mover lift a piece of the bed frame, turn too quickly, and clank a third piece against the wall right in front of me. I took photos (attached) and spoke with the movers. Both movers were quick to deny any fault: "We did that?" "No, that was already there from the previous residents." I would like to make this clear - this is a newly constructed townhouse with 0 previous tenants. I was then told by the movers to speak to Brad, which I agreed to, and I reached out to him to determine how he wanted to handle this situation. Brad initially apologized and said he would like to come over to see the damage. Once Brad entered my house, I explained I had a family member on the phone with us while we spoke. He confirmed, and I guided him to the areas of contact as he continued to take photos of the wall. Brad found it necessary to make comments on little details and flaws about my new home and what he could have done better, having some experience as a contractor. Brad continued to comment that he generally takes photos of the new house before the movers arrive to keep a record of pre-existing damage. To which I responded, saying that I had figured he would have been there. Brad simply stated, "Something had come up." After briefly evaluating the damage, Brad said Black Diamond Moving would cover the damage. I reached out to my painter and got a quote for the damage. While I was excited to move into my new house, this was very disappointing instead. It wasn't as pleasant an experience as I hoped for moving into a brand new house. P.S. Update! My bed was improperly reassembled with screws pointing outward. OUCH! I have now scraped my leg on the bed. No, I couldn't unscrew the sharp side of it, which resulted in me having to completely shift my bed with the sharp screw facing inward against the wall! Attention to detail should be taken more seriously. It might help all parties avoid incidents, INJURIES, and/or lawsuits.
