As a participant of this program's summer camp for more than 5 years, I have created many…read moreunforgettable memories while getting ahead of my school peers by diving into deeper math, reading and writing curricula. Dr. Li's program is popular throughout Montgomery and Howard County and offers enrichment camps with 4-5 sessions each summer for elementary through high schoolers (PSAT/SAT prep). Dr. Li hires school teachers to teach most age groups but teaches rising 8th grade and high school math himself. In the elementary and middle school camps, the classes last around 90 minutes each and are: writing/grammar, reading, and public speaking. There is also a 2 hour lunch/"recess" where campers can hang out with friends, bead, play sports or games, watch a movie in the classroom, etc. Last year, the camp provided lunch (pizza, fried rice, and Chinese lo mein or noodles) for campers. Students are given a few packets each week for all classes but public speaking, and complete them in class and for homework. As I remember, these 3 classes typically follow the same structure: packet answers from the previous night's homework are reviewed, the teacher gives a brief lesson, and the students continue work on the packets. In my public speaking class last year as a rising 8th grader, we debated, prepared speeches, and were given tips about how to give good presentations. Writing/grammar was the most helpful class for me, as the format of the grammar packets was very similar to that of the SAT test, which I took a month ago. Math, in my opinion, was the most difficult and unhelpful class of the camp- however, Dr. Li has a few tips and tricks he shares with his classes. Overall, Dr. Li's program is truly a fantastic opportunity to make new friends and stay sharp academically over the summer!

Very poor customer service - Extremely arrogant attitude fr Dr Li himself! I emailed Dr Li…read moredirectly to get information about the class size & the teachers for the upcoming classes that he will be hosting in Howard County, he wouldn't answer any of my questions but instead ask me to ask other parents about it or assume the risk!

We had our children enrolled in reading and writing lessons at SpiderSmart Learning Center -…read moreGaithersburg. Everything seeded fine until one session in May 2025. During that class, there was a concerning incident where the instructor took a student's work while they were still actively working on it, despite the student's clear objection. This made the student feel disrespected, and the experience left both children feeling uncomfortable. We brought the issue to the attention of the center director, who investigated but ultimately attributed the incident to an unrelated conflict, which we felt misrepresented the situation. We requested a refund for the remaining sessions but were told the payment was non-refundable. We agreed to pause lessons until a preferred teacher returned in June, but despite multiple follow-up emails, we never received a response or update from the director. The lack of resolution, accountability, and ongoing communication issues have led us to discontinue our relationship with this learning center. We are still requesting a refund for the unused portion of prepaid lessons and hope this review prompts better responsiveness and care in the future.

The program helped him build a strong foundation and gave him the confidence to express himself clearly and creatively. He enjoyed his time there, which made learning even more effective. Now, my daughter has joined the center as well, and she loves it too so far!
