I was in here on a Friday a little after 6pm and no one was in here. I asked one of the young women working here what time they closed and she told me 6:30pm. I then went to check out their back area and oh my they had quite an assortment of Dutch licorice, I was in heaven! I like salty licorice, less sweet and more salty with a good licorice bite and also found one of the brands I really like. I also tried another I did know, just to see what it was like. The brand I am used to I am saving for later as I know what it tastes like. The new brand I got is a bit more sweet than I like but I still like it and it was good I tried it. This is a great shop if youre looking for Dutch style licorice. They also have plenty of award winning chocolates too and a lot of people showed up after I entered and all ordering their chocolates. Id come back here again when in town!

Their chocolate display case looked so good - they also offer ice cream and milk shakes! They had a separate ice cream bar area which I thought was super cute. They had a whole wall of gummy candy that I had never seen or heard of before! I was tempted to buy some and have a little taste test. The inside was decent sized, but still inviting, clean and organized! Staff were also very nice and the register and even greeted us when we arrived. I would definitely recommend checking Ingeborg's Danish Chocolates if you are looking for a sweet treat for yourself or to bring home to someone! We will be back to check out their chocolates next time we are visiting Solvang!

There are many gourmet cheeses, meats, olive oils, whole bean coffees, wines and more. The woman behind the cheese counter invited us to try the cheese samples. There was a lavender cheese and the black cheese with lemon that caught my eye. I bought the black cheese with lemon. The shop associate told me that the black color comes from licorice powder yet you cannot taste the licorice, only the lemon. There were many things I wanted to buy but had to have control. I love that a mother and daughter team run the shop and I loved hearing the mother speak Danish to an older woman that is one of their regular customers. Definitely check out the wonderful gourmet foods here when you visit Solvang.

Either way, nobody deserves to be treated the way she will treat you. Please go ANYWHERE else for your cheese and wine. I tried to have a conversation about her cheese selection asking for suggestions and she was terribly rude for no reason at all. You can easily buy most of her cheeses from Trader Joe's for half the price and without being spoken down to as a cutomer. There's plenty of other shops in Solvang with cheese and wine. They have the usual candy selections of taffy and candies, but the star of the store was their homemade fudge which the owner makes herself daily. We tried the Chocolate Fudge, Peanut Butter Chocolate and the Dark Chocolate Caramel and all were excellent. Do not miss this lovely store. I'm a sucker for chocolate fruit cream bonbons so I opted for a bunch of those flavors, as well as a coconut one and a couple of fancy looking ones: lavender white chocolate and rose white chocolate! I took them home to share with the hubby and we really enjoyed them! The traditional fruit creams were excellent, as well as the coconut bonbon. The lavender and rose ones were good but just too sweet and rich for me (personal preference). Staff are super sweet (no pun intended lol!!) and helpful. Prices are what you'd expect for the area and they offer shipping and even gift wrapping services. Their location is excellent - very walkable little town with lots to see and do. Parking is all street parking and ample outside of the busy season. A great spot to stop and satisfy your sweet tooth!
