Nice and informative museum about the history of the Florida Keys. They have interactive exhibits,…read moredocumentaries, library, artwork, fish tanks, and much more. Great place to divert from the sun, too! Open Tuesday- Sunday 10am-5pm General Admission = $15.00 55yrs and 0ver Admission = $12.50 Student Ddmission = $6.00 Military = Free Admission.

Looking for things to do on an overcast day in the keys, we found a few museums in the area and…read moredecided to check out the Florida Keys history museum. First thing is that, yes, there's a big sign on the street to enter but, you feel like you're going the wrong direction after you have to navigate through a resort gate and drive-through what appears to be there maintenance area before arriving at the discovery center. The building itself looks newer and is very large and there's plenty of parking. Upon entering, we had no idea what to expect because we couldn't find the cost of admission anywhere so we had to ask and make the determination if we wanted to go. For $15 per adult and six dollars per student we decided why not. The museum itself is set out nicely with the first floor, including a history of the Florida indigenous people, and then the development of the keys. These are lots of computer screens with interactive items but, they need to be locked because we accidentally got to the desktop and saw we went this first with a variety of windows open, various search items and even Roblox and other games open that kids were playing. There is also a small aquarium section with three tanks. Upstairs there is a small art gallery and a theater that plays a rotation of historical movies. We saw one about state parks (1/5) and one about the overseas highway (4/5). So kind of hit and miss there. If you are a history or museum buff or really interested in the keys then this might be worth a stop but, would not recommend for a family with kids as they will get bored easily.

Has a table and is covered. $199 for the day including bucket of beer/seltzers or a bottle of rose. - Basic kayaks and paddle boards included and other activities offered like kite surfing. - Restaurant and rooftop bar on site were great and convenient - Had a family 3 bedroom unit with kitchen which was nice. - Not so crowded when we were there mid-April Midlights: - Tide changes made it harder to do water sports since had to plan around low tide times. - Beds and sheets weren't the most comfortable - Day without Jeff the drinks were not great by the pool. - Adult section is more recently renovated than the family side. - Adult pool actually more crowded and set back in shade. Lowlights - Restaurant and rooftop bar closed Tuesdays and Wednesdays - Water ground is sludgey and not fun to walk on. Also sometimes an unpleasant odor. - Door to our main balcony was broken after our first night so for several days we couldn't go out there. Bummer cause was the main place we planned to hang out. And hub missed part of our aquacabana day waiting for someone to come up since his suit was out there. - No service for rooms while we were here 3 nights

Get past that and you find a first-class resort, dense beautiful tropical gardens, great staff, all the perks one wants in a Keys resort... pool, bar, water sports, super nice/clean rooms, plenty of parking! Mia helped us check in and gave us the property tour, did a great job... thanks Mia. Complimentary prosecco upon check-in! Nice little gift shop at the office. The resident cat Wilma will follow you around, so be aware, she'll join you for bed! Family and adults sides to the resort, which is nice. Only had one night this time around, but we'll be back for sure! Highly recommend!

Large, rich, and fudgey and best thing we ate. 5 stars - Key lime pie: one of the best and I've tried 15+. - Fluffy light texture with right amount of lime tang and bit of meringue up top. 5 stars - Short rib: standout savory item of the night. - Tender on the bone and savory gravy like sauce. 4.75 stars - Sushi: my friends shared a roll and said it was outstanding. 4.5 stars - Creme brulee: can get combo chocolate and vanilla minis 4 stars - Pork chop: tender and hefty slices. Said chimmichuri which was the reason why my friend ordered it but didn't see any. 4 stars - Rib eye: quality steak and cook. 4 stars - Snow crab claw: can order single medium or large sized. Simple with lemon. 4 stars - Chicken: roasted was good but smaller portion than expected. 4 stars - Mac and cheese: Gouda w cavatsppi corkscrews. Good flavor and not too creamy cheesey flavor was more baked into the noodles themselves. 4 stars - Fries: thin crispy. 3.5 stars - Burrata: hidden under a layer of prosciutto and a crostini underneath. 3 stars - Cocktails: pretty good. I got a coffee old fashioned and hub clarified rum punch which were quality sips. Midlights - Shrimp: was excited for the area special pinks but weren't anything outstanding. Soft rolls with cheese baked in on the top were good. 3 stars Lowlights - Cocktail timing: got them 1 by 1 and took a while before all 4 of us had ours before our meal.
