Tesla is by far the worst company we have ever dealt with. We purchased Tesla solar and powerwall 4 months ago because we thought they were a great company with great service and value. Wrong! Now a couple of months later my system has been down for 20+ days and no help in sight. I finally spoke to someone to schedule a service but have me scheduled for July 12. 2+ months to get someone to come out and fix the issue. I also have to continue paying my monthly to Tesla even though my system is not working. I'm paying them and LADWP too. I definitely wouldn't recommend Tesla for anything.

WOW. I am shocked and in loss of words. Worst company I have ever dealt with. DO NOT WASTE YOUR TIME WITH TESLA SOLAR - YOU WILL BE DISAPPOINTED, FRUSTRATED AND STRESSED BEYOND BELIEF! I should have looked at reviews before being a "Tesla Fan Boy" and just going with what I thought would be the best customer experience/product. I was about to purchase a Model Y and also waiting for the Cyber truck but after this I can say without a doubt I will not be purchasing anything from TESLA. Why they suck: - No customer service. Literally have been waiting to speak with a manager for days (almost two weeks now) and no response from anyone on the team. - Solar was installed and they left holes in my ceiling. Waiting to see if they will fix it. - The one person I was able to get in contact with even told me himself that Tesla will not be responding to any of my messages and that hes my best hope. Then begins to tell me how I should be appreciative that he is going out of his way to contact me even though he doesnt have too. LOL Are you kidding me? Is this really how tesla operates? I thought I was being pranked.. haha I could keep going but this is a waste of time. I hope my warning saves at least one person time and money.

We believe in Elon 's vision and mission to change the world . Thankfully there is Tesla . We had a model 3 and now a Tesla solar panel on our roof. If you are looking or planning to go solar- look no further and go for Tesla . Tesla solar is the most cost effective solar option there is . Thank you for lowering your price and making it affordable for us.

    Hope O.

We have been relocated for 7 months now, paid for by my homeowners insurance, because my 30,400.00 SolarCity purchase caused water damage to my entire home. I spent over a year negotiating the purchase contract and loan (with no escalator). Both have yet to be honored as written. The fortress of customer service urchins are trained to block you from going any higher up better than understanding their own product. Meanwhile my family of 6 is displaced and navigating a legal system via the ROC We cannot begin repairs without compromising the evidence. So until the city finishes their legal process we cannot remove the solar which in turn is keeping us from repairing our home. My advice to anyone that is seeking solar for their home is; you will need to research not only your contract and quality of production, definately and thoroughly find out their track record for how they handle problems that may arise after the sale and how well they honor the contract. I have had to learn the hard way that it does not matter how well your contract is written if you have to spend years proving and enforcing it. Total cost of damages so far is nearing $100,000 this is yet to be acknowledg'd by Tesla/Solarcity and remember we have not yet begun to rebuild!

Everybody wins. If you agree there is no need for a debate regarding climate change, then going solar is clearly the right thing to do. If you've ever been less than satisfied with the DWP, you can say goodbye to them, and begin a relationship with the professional network of people at SolarCity. Our sales representative, Phil Garcia was straight forward and explained everything. He's also generally cool, and with all the questions we've had not only during his presentation in our home, but for weeks that followed, he has always been available and on top of things. The installation team was also very professional with an emphasis on safety. They arrived promptly, began and completed the job on time which is impressive once you begin to understand all that's involved. There are attractive lease options with multiple benefits. Zero start up cost(s) was important to us. We're already fans of leasing things that depreciate. It's structured so you know what it will cost each month. SolarCity monitors and maintains/repairs your system for the entire term, so no surprise repair costs, and no outrageous bills during the summer months just because you need to run your AC. Be aware that you will authorize the DWP to turn the government incentive over to SolarCity, and that any power you generate going back into the grid will not produce a check. Of course you can buy the system if your prefer. While it's important to do your homework, it's unlikely to prepare you for the process. It is long and involved which is why we are so glad to have SolarCity on our side, and actually working for us from day one. If we were dependent on the DWP alone to help facilitate our switch to solar power, it would literally take years. Seriously, the DWP for example will arrive an hour ahead of schedule for one of several inspections, and rather than knock on your door, they'll leave a notice 'no access' that explains what they are going to bill you to reschedule. They'll smile when they say 'bad news about your old meter.' What's bad about installing a new meter that is the proper distance from your gas meter? If you've been a DWP customer, you're likely familiar with their service. SolarCity is customer focused and gets things done. Recently one of SolarCity's major competitors was listed in the Fortune 500. Solar companies are definitely profiting. We want them to. It pushes the clean energy agenda forward and creates jobs. Again, everybody wins. The planet, your wallet and the expansion of clean energy. For those seriously considering solar energy, you may be interested to know that we were turned down by three companies over the last few years because of a large tree on a neighboring property. The tiny portion of our roof briefly shaded in the morning was explained to us in detail as an 'impossibility.' 'Think of Christmas tree lights' they said. 'One bulb burns out, and the whole line blows.' While there is some truth to that, what they were not telling us was that there are actuators that prevent that problem. Finally, there is one thing we did not become aware of until the installation of our system was completed. We wondered if our power would remain on during a blackout, and the answer is SolarCity is in partnership with Tesla if you want a battery back up included with your system. That would have been an automatic yes for us. Maybe we'll add it later. For now, we await the final green light to turn on our system. We were told it takes five to seven weeks give or take.

Solar city's work , another bracket broke so Tesla who bought them out (?) installed all new brackets but DIDNOT fix the leak on the roof!!

Update. Have these solar panels for two years , so far so good. They produce a bit less electricity than promised.

California Solar and Electric was great to work with. But I wanted to provide a more detailed…read morereview than I normally do as this was a bit more complicated than just going out to dinner. At my old home I had solar installed without any kind of battery backup as at the time battery backup was really not an option. Solar was pretty good but did not provide me with a zero bill. When I sold that home and moved into my new home the cost was more than I wanted to spend. Fast forward three years and prices have come down and with the federal tax credit expiring I decided to make the investment as the cost of electricity seems to keep going up. I wanted to go with Tesla as being a big company I thought they would be a good choice. The first problem I had with them is you can't reach a person to talk to. And for the amount of money this costs I was not really comfortable, however I moved on and paid a deposit and started the process in September of 2025. When I finally was able to speak with a person they told me that they could not guarantee that they could complete the installation by the December 31, 2025 deadline, really 4 months of lead time? I canceled Tesla and looked around at my other options. Shelter came to my home and we spoke. They were knowledgeable and the salesperson was really nice, however their price was a huge difference from the other two quotes that I received. Quantium was another company that I spoke with, and I was ready to use them as they were much bigger than California Solar and I thought that might be a better option, plus a neighbor had used them and were happy with them. However when I got the contract from them it basically stated that they wanted a $1000 deposit and if they found that I needed additional work and if I did not want to continue then I would loose my deposit, that seemed outrageous so I told them that I would not continue with them. Note that after I had decided to go with California Solar and Electric they told me they would give me the deposit back if that would happen, but by them I had already signed the contract with California Solar and Electric and honestly was happier with them at that point. I spoke to Mark Howe and he was excellent. I told him about Quantium and he sent me a copy of their contract and told me that they did not do that. His price was the same and the equipment was the similar. Note that they actually had to upgrade my solar panels and did not charge me any additional fees. They also did some additional work to allow more of my home to be backed up than their original quote. Mark told me that he could get the job done before the tax deadline so I signed with them. The process took a bit of time as we had to get permits and approval from the HOA. But the system was installed on time and fully completed well before the deadline. They actually worked on the installation during huge winds and rain. It did take a day or two longer to complete than what they originally thought. One of my batteries was bad out of the box and that created a bit of an issue but Henry was amazing and took care of everything quickly and professionally. He was even nice when I messed up and scanned a QR code that I thought would download a different app but it basically erased my home from my app. Note to self, double check before scanning QR codes. All in all the process was professional and was handled as quickly as possible. Communication was good even though they were swamped trying to get everyone installed before the end of the year (2025). Everyone that I dealt with was really nice and easy to work with. I think I must have driven Bella their wonderful assistant, crazy calling so often. Of course Henry had to deal with all of my questions which he handled and made me feel very comfortable. I would suggest that if you do decide to go solar, give California Solar and Electric a call and get a quote. Thanks for reading my lengthy review.

She offered a free panel cleaning, which she set up internally and had their team come out this past Friday without issue. Since the cleaning the panels have been much better performing especially after these past few weeks of misting and rain, about 25% higher output. I didn't think much of it but I get now it's worth doing to get the most out of the panels. Overall a very good response and experience with OC specifically for this issue. I feel that they do want to stand out from the crowd and responding proactively to feedback gives me more confidence they'll take care of issues as they hear about them.

Their pricing was competitive, and their substantial warranty sealed the deal. Highly recommend them if you're considering solar!
