I paid a $500 deductible through Tesla Insurance to have this official Tesla Collision Center replace my 2026 Tesla model y with 5000 miles windshield, and they completely butchered the job.
Interior Damage: They forced the passenger A-pillar trim panel back in incorrectly, permanently crushing and smushing the fabric liner at the base.
Exterior Defects: The plastic cowl panel and rubber trim--which were perfectly flush before--are now warped, bowing outward, and lifting away from the glass. It leaves a massive gap that is a major water-intrusion risk. And they also left scratches on my new car which came out looking worse then it came in.
Rental Hassle: To make matters worse, dealing with transportation has been a massive headache. Their extreme lack of available rental cars makes sorting out the logistics an absolute hassle, and now I have to go through that entire broken process all over again just to get them to fix their own sloppy mistakes.
They snapped clips, jammed pieces back together, and hoped I wouldn't notice. I am escalating this under Tesla's Lifetime Guarantee and filing a formal complaint.
Update: My fender and windshield were hit by a rock on the freeway. The good news is they fixed my fender within a week, and it looks pretty good. The bad news is it took a month to get my windshield replaced after they butchered the first attempt. They clearly don't know how to install a windshield correctly.
If you get your windshield replaced here, check all your cowls and interior headliner, and test for road noise right away. They will damage your car and hope you don't catch their mistakes. To make matters worse, the customer service from Justin, Tatiana, and especially Danitza was horrible--they get irritated when you confront them about poor work done at Tesla Collision on Morena Blvd. read more
