So finally after a year I got my mom to agree to get a wig for herself. She's been complaining about her hair situation and well it just took that long to convince her to we strolled in and Richard was mild mannered and helping someone else but explained which side was real hair and which was the synthetic ones. He gave us an approximation of price between the two and we walked around looking at what may look good on my mom's head. As soon as Richard was free to help my mom he put on a net on her head and started putting wigs on. Her and I would evaluate it and even the other customer in the store was giving my mom her advice. After trying on a few styles my mom chose one and it turned out it wasn't super expensive and it was on a 50% markdown. Richard answered all our questions and upsold us on the shampoo and hair net plus gave us a stand for the wig when not in use. I feel compelled to share our experience with Terry's Wigs to prevent others from the same disappointment. I came upon this shop through Yelp reviews and brought my mother in to purchase a wig as she has recently been diagnosed with cancer and has lost her hair. This has been a very sensitive subject for her however I encouraged her to try the place out and to our surprise she found a nice wig that we purchased at this shop. The initial experience was great. Maggie let us know that they also offered services for the wigs such as washing, coloring, and applying silicone on the wigs to prevent them from slipping out. My siblings purchased a very expensive wig from a different shop however, my mother kept having trouble with the wig slipping off. She decided to have silicone added to the wig and discussed the details with Maggie. She let us know that it would be an easy task and to bring it in. My mother brought the wig in and left it in the hands of Richard. He let her know that Maggie would contact her shortly regarding the service she wanted. Maggie's phone call to my mother was very rude. She let my mom know that the wig she brought in was "cheap," and that we were "ripped off." My siblings purchased the other wig from a reputable business. It was in no way, "cheap," in quality or price. Even it was, her remarks were unprofessional and disrespectful. She made an already stressful situation even worse. After the phone call, my mother became anxious as she felt that her wig was not in the best of hands. Against her better judgment, she decided to continue and allow Maggie to proceed with the service. A few days later, my mother came to pick the wig up, and to her surprise, the wig was in terrible condition. There was hair missing from the wig and you could see through the hair into the netting of the wig. We tried to contact Maggie, however, she was conveniently unavailable, leaving us to deal with Richard, who dismissed our concerns outright. His insistence that they had done nothing wrong not only contradicted the visible evidence but also highlighted a concerning lack of accountability and customer care within Terry's Wigs. I'm very disappointed with this place. It's a shame that they take advantage of cancer patients. It is hard enough watching our mom grieve the loss of her hair because of her treatment but to ruin her wig in this way is despicable. read more

i read the reviews and wanted to believe i could trust richard the owner but when i call him up and told him i was interested in a 24 inch long human hair remy brown and blonde highlights for $900.00 i wanted to see it made appointment to come down . when i came down it look nice i like the cap that came with it but didnt have enough blonde highlights so i offer him extra to have somebody in his shop to install blonde extensions for me told me it will cost me additional $700.00 paid him half of it came back after a month later came to pick it up and notice stand out silver strands of hair throughout brought it to his attention act like nothing was wrong added some serum to it i told him the extensions you install was synthetic and he kept denying it i know i was scam but i paid him $ 1.800.00 for it i tried pulling out those ugly synthetic extensions but couldnt after wearing it for over a week the strands turn dry and frizzy and now i cant wear it anymore i tried all kinds of conditions dont trust him like i did read more

As a first time wig buyer, I did not know what to expect or ask. Ms. Maria was the person who helped me. She was super nice and let me pick out what I initially wanted to try. Since the options I choose did not fit my facial structure, skin color, style, etc., she then asked, if SHE could show me some options. And when I tell you that when I tried Ms. Maria's selections I was blown away, it is definitely an understatement. As soon as I tried the 1st hair piece, I cried of joy. I had not seen myself with that much hair, style and glow. My face just lid up! The rest of the options she recommended suited me perfectly. I looked like me (if that makes sense). Since this is an investment, I went back with my husband to show him the options we narrowed down, and he said the same thing when I tried on the options Ms. Maria picked. He said "your face just lights up, you are glowing and the style is you." We purchased the perfect piece for me, that same day. Everyone that has seen me since, give me compliments and they don't even know it's a hair piece, as it blends with my hair!! Worth every penny. Maggie and Richard are THE BEST!! I love this store!! You want a human hair wig, you come here. Seriously! I've been to other wig shops and they have the biggest selection of human hair wigs. They also have hair pieces for thinning hair and synthetic wigs for fun (like hot pink, blue - OMG, I wanted to buy a dozen wigs). I bought a human hair long blond wig w/full lace. A little over $1000, but it's really long, straight & full (I've always had super fine hair that looks thin)! Everything I wanted and was looking for!! Full service huge wig shop!! Initial purchase includes customization. For me, that meant lace trimming and styling when I purchased it. Further wig care is available, you just need bring it in and they will maintain it (shampoo, condition, style, etc). Richard helped me pick it out. I said I wanted a wig that basically looked like my own blond hair, just "bigger". He picked out THE perfect one on the first try. I also picked out about four to try out and nope, it does take a professional to look at you and pick your perfect wig. Both Maggie and Richard did the finishing touches. Richard trimmed the lace and installed the clips. Maggie troubleshooted with me, and Richard sewed in the clips and removed them, re-sewed them again after troubleshooting with Maggie. The customer service here is absolutely perfect. Maggie did my wig styling, both Maggie and Richard taught me how to wear a wig...but, I'm probably going to make an appointment with Maggie if I need it to look "red carpet" good. Maggie also installs individual lashes for approx $25 total (including lashes). Lashes are only $2.99 here (they have a lot of colorful styles, great for costume opportunities!) and I bought some just to practice (normal black, the colorful costume lashes may cost more, I didn't ask). Today I went to Terrys to purchase a wig due to chemo hair loss. I did call ahead to see whether they had in store shopping and I made an appointment. I was met by a young man who asked if I needed his help or would just like to browse. He was so helpful and it made the whole experience easy. They are so great. I went to them on a recommendation from a family member because I just moved to the area and needed a new wig shop. I bought my current wig from a salon in Boston and had been getting it re-dyed as the color faded through washes. They had told me before I moved that they would no longer dye it as it had been dyed too many times and would not retain the color. When I called, I was assured that would not be an issue as she would do some color tests on the hair. It was so easy to set up an appointment to talk to them and get my wig in to be dyed and have hair sown in where there had been loss over time. She did exactly what I asked for and the color has not changed at all in the three months since I had it done. read more

The woman that helped my mom was patient and took her time to help my mom pick the right wig. When we checked out my mom asked if she could get a discount since she has cancer and they gave her a 15% discount. All the employees that worked there were nice and professional. This was my first experience at a wig shop and cannot be more pleased. The staffs are very friendly and truly love what they do. They have a number of wigs on display and they look professionally designed. My visit was for a wig styling and a cut. I brought in my own wig feeling a bit nervous since not many places will cut or touch wigs that were not bought from them. They told me it was fine and I was relieved after searching countless of wig shops around my area. Maggie is one of the shop workers who assisted me. (or one of the managers I think. Not sure, but it does seem she does seem like it). She examined my wig and suggested I take the services she offered. I agree with her suggestions and we got a deal settled. Due to her workload and the procedure my wig had to go through, I had to return a couple of days later to do the final step for the wig. As I returned for the second visit, it was time for the final step, which was the wig cutting. Maggie greeted me again and got to work right away. She began cutting my wig, and in the end, it turned out great. Actually, better than I expected. I was super satisfied and will definitely return to get a wig fixed/styled in the future. read more

this is a great place to find wigs, toppers, hair pieces, mustache, lace front wigs and supplies. I find Terry's wig to be for people who need wigs and not for costume parties although they do carry some costume wigs I feel that this store caters to people with real hair loss. the gentlemen that help me find my topper is a real nice guy and really know what people needs. I ask to see toppers because I have severe hair loss due to stress and medical conditions and I ask for one thing but he knew I need something else. he matched my hair to the topper in minutes and I was out of the store with my topper within 30 minutes I think even less. this purchase was my 3rd purchase from Terry's wig. in the pass I bought full human wig and my 2nd purchase I got a hair topper from Rene of Paris. This 3rd purchase was another topper and it was painless. I definitely recommend Terry's wigs to chemo patients, people with alopecia, and people who just have monetary hair loss. there's a parking lot behind the store so you don't have to park on the street. read more
