As a female, going to an automotive shop is hit or miss; some people try and up-sell you while others just push you aside thinking you have no idea what you're talking about. Jeff did neither. When I called to ask about some pricing, he asked me to check a few things on my transmission before bring it in. He said, " I don't want to waste your money with something as easy as this." When I checked those things and still couldn't fix the problem he walked me through getting a tow truck and how he was going to approach the diagnosis of my transmission. When the tow truck got to Conley Automotive, I followed it there with some spare pieces of the crossmember and exhaust, Jeff was there to help chat with the tow truck man and look over the truck. He is honest, professional, and kind. I told him the truck was a third car so there was no rush. He updated me every few days on what he'd found upon the initial diagnosis and what needs to be done. When a part of the transmission was missing, he went above and beyond and found that part for me. I have a 6 month old so searching for parts that I wasn't 100% versed on was stressful for me. Jeff called around to some of his contacts and found the exact piece. When my husband and I went to pick up the truck, Jeff gave us a full rundown of what he thinks was wrong with the transmission, how he fixed it, and also some interesting history of the truck. When I kept pushing, he said he would look more into it. I haven't heard anything from him. Since that conversation, I have spoken to the other businesses involved and all signs have pointed to Crash Champions dropping the ball, multiple times. What is now being handled as of 5/27/26, should have been handled on 3/26/26. The ball is now rolling, but took 2 months and caused irreversible troubles. I am unsure of next steps but what this business did is unacceptable and I'll be looking into where it can be reported/investigated.

This company initially appealed to me because they advertised coming to pick up your car and dropping it off in your parking area (how convenient!) and seemed like a nice local small family business (which I always try to support). As a physician, I work very long hours and appreciated the convenience offered by this company. This however turned out to be a major issue in the long run. Some months ago, my car developed a slight issue that occurred for about a half second every 30-40 miles. I drive a 2009 car with over180,000 miles so I thought it important to have the car checked out in case a part needed to be changed. Briest Automotive initially took the car and performed a routine maintenance service before returning the car to me. Following this, the issue persisted, so I reached back out to them. They opted to come and pick up my car once again at which time they performed a repair on a part within my transmission. Following this repair however, my car began having a MAJOR issue which occurred reliably when shifting gears. This rendered the car unsafe to drive, so much so that I almost got into a car accident on my way from work (the car randomly stopped on a left turn at a busy intersection during rush hour traffic). After this, I opted to leave the car on my parking and get a rental. I tried contacting Briest Automotive about this/tried to figure out what happened, however no one returned my calls or messages for weeks. Eventually, Pamila (the customer liaison), answered apologetically and explained that they would come and get the car asap with intentions to return it only when it is fixed. After weeks of not hearing back from them, I sent a message to them to just forget about it and return my car to me by fears that they were actually trying to steal it at this point. At that time, they explained that they had performed said repairs totaling over $1,500 (replacing certain parts within the transmission) and that the car still had the major shifting issue. I reviewed this with multiple mechanics and ALL have said that this course of action was unreasonable and likely had a financial incentive. All have reliably explained that no one actually trying to solve this issue would have replaced every part of a transmission on a car with over 180,000 miles. Exchanging the transmission for a new one should have been their only move as everyone knows how expensive transmission are. I discussed this and my dissatisfaction with them, and they claimed to stand by their "excellent" work/decisions, even claiming that they were doing me a favor! charging me over $1,500. Despite my comments, they refused to bring my car back to me until I paid for the entirety of their charges IN CASH. I have never dealt with such an incompetent and unprofessional car company. Due to trusting this company, my car was damaged/became unsafe to drive resulting in my almost getting in a car accident; I was charged over $2K of unnecessary repairs on a transmission that needs to be changed anyways; I have incurred additional unnecessary car rental charges totaling over another 2K and been car-less for months due poor efficiency and communication; I still need to get my car fixed and start back at step 1 (meaning more time, more money) - I just hope that they have not damaged other parts of the car and that it can actually still be salvaged. I am incredibly disappointed with this company. CUSTOMERS BEWARE! STAY AWAY AT ALL COST! These people are not only negligent but incompetent and money hungry and will surely take advantage of you if possible. I am typically not one to speak out against other professionals because I know how hard it is to own a business, but at this point I feel as though it is my responsibility to warn honest customers about this company's ways.

I own a Hyundai Sonata Limited and Had it serviced at the Crown Automotive Group, more specifically Crown Hyundai located at 5301 34th St. N here in St. Petersburg this past September 30th. The car is under warranty and was DOA so I had it towed into the dealership. It took them 8 days before they could even assign a mechanic to it. They discovered the problem and fixed it and I picked it up on October 11th. The car stated acting up again and was surging when I would accelerate from a stopped position at a red light. I had called the service advisor Crown that I had deal with in September but got his voice mail instead. I left my message for him to call me and gave some details. I didn't hear back and called every day for 4 days leaving a message each time. On the fifth day, November 28th, I took the car up there and went into the service department asking for the service advisor that I left messages on his voice mail and was told by another service advisor that he was no longer with the company and had been gone for some time. I informed him that if my guy was gone why is it that I can leave a voice mail on his line with his voice and that I did so for 4 days. All the guy did was to shrug his shoulders and say "Beats me". So I said that I had to make a service appointment for my car and he said he could help me with that. He pulled up my file and looked at the appointment schedules to find the earliest appointment and told me they can't take it until January 10 of 2023. I said to him, "No really, when?" and he repeated it. I said you are saying that I have to wait 43 days for you to check out my car that is under warranty and he said, "That's the best we can do" so I told him to book it. I was pissed on the drive home and decided to call Hyundai of New Port Richey where I had also bought some cars from. When I asked what was the earliest service appointment I could get with them I was told December 14th (a full 27 days earlier than Crown quoted me) so I booked it with them. The savings of waiting 17 additional days more than outweighs the 32 mile drive. So I just wanted to let people know that Crown Automotive Group that runs many locations selling many different make of cars but how they can expect someone to wait 43 days to have their car serviced is just mind boggling. I'm retired but what about someone who is still working because they need to work to pay the bill and can't get a service appointment for 43 days, it's just ludicrous! Could it be that being they are so big and might feel they are the biggest and best in town that they have put customer service in the back seat and disregard any priorities that customer service used to have. So heads up folks if you buy a vehicle from them or you already own one don't expect a miracle and in this case it being to have you car serviced before more than a month's wait. So Buyer beware!
